CHAPTER 95: CHAPTER 95: I’LL SHOW YOU HAPPINESS

"Blessings" coming from Zane’s mouth was undoubtedly the last thing Erin Bishop wanted to hear.

Watching his nonchalant demeanor, Erin tried her best to smile brightly, "Sure, I’ll be happy for you to see."

"Zane, what are you guys talking about?"

Erin turned to Zoe Logan with a smile, said nothing, and slipped into the restroom.

Shannon Quinn stood at the corner and saw Zoe Whitman walking over arm in arm with Zane, so she pretended to look down at her phone, and they didn’t notice her.

As they passed by Shannon, she heard Zoe complain to Zane, "I don’t like you talking to other women. Not even your brother’s girlfriend."

Zane didn’t respond; it seemed like he was indifferent to everyone, including Zoe.

Whether it was his personality or something else, watching the two leave, Shannon sighed softly and headed to the restroom to find Erin.

If you listened closely, you could hear the low sobs coming from the stall, the deliberately suppressed crying sounded heartbreaking.

Shannon didn’t know how to console her, a simple "It’s not worth it, let go" was easy for an onlooker to say, but the person involved knew how difficult those seven words were.

After returning to the room, Erin hid her emotions well, looking as if she was joyfully playing with the others, drinking, one cup after another...

Zane’s impression of her was that she didn’t drink, her carefree nature was the same as before, but some things had gradually changed over time.

There was no happiness in her smile; the false facade only made one feel more heartache.

"Alright, drink less," Ronan Rhodes couldn’t bear to watch any longer, reaching out to take the bottle from Erin’s hand.

He hadn’t stopped her at first, intending to see how his brother would react.

There’s a mysterious connection between twins; others might not understand Zane, but he did.

Just like now, he could see Zane was worried about Erin, but he hadn’t expected him to remain so composed, never stepping in to stop it.

Erin gave Ronan a silly smile and burped but fortunately didn’t say anything outrageous.

"Ronan, I have to go to the hospital with your brother tomorrow, so we’ll head back first."

Ronan nodded, and before he could say anything, Erin waved drunkenly, muttering, "Go... just go..."

Zoe looked at Erin and laughed, "Looks like your sister-in-law drank too much, you guys should head back early too."

Erin immersed herself in her world, fiddling with the glass in front of her, continuing her previous words in a self-talk manner, "When you get there... can you let me know..."

Everyone thought she was rambling nonsense, but Zane understood what she meant.

Unclear what compelled him, he quickened his pace to leave.

Zoe jogged out, following him, "Wait for me!"

The gathering dispersed, and Shannon drove Erin back home.

It’s hard to say when she will move on; if Zane hadn’t reappeared, maybe she wouldn’t have lost herself like this.

Previously, Shannon always thought Erin was an optimistic and independent woman who was capable of moving on from breakups quickly. Maybe she never really got involved in the first place...

Today’s spectacle was undoubtedly a failure, but it’s uncertain how it will end in the future.

Early the next morning, Erin acted as if nothing happened and even asked, "Shannon, did I drink too much yesterday? I didn’t cause any trouble, did I?"

Shannon placed warmed milk in front of her, "You knew you drank too much? Carrying you back felt like carrying a pig. Next time you drink, I’ll have to stop you."

Erin took a big gulp of milk, glared at Shannon, "You’re the pig! Not talking to you, I have a morning meeting to attend, should I buy anything this afternoon? I can pick it up after work."

"Nothing needed. Text me what you want for dinner, so I can prepare."

Erin nodded, finished the milk in two gulps, grabbed a sandwich at the door while changing shoes, "Living with you is truly happy, I’m leaving dear, I’ll bring you some snacks tonight."

Shannon chuckled, waving her off.

Watching the morning news, slowly eating breakfast, she hadn’t planned on going out until she got a call from Lynn Kendall.

"Shannon, I’m starting at the studio today. You’re my only friend here, can you come by and show me the ropes, familiarize me with the workflow?"

Shannon thought about how she didn’t have much to do, and since her belly hadn’t shown she was pregnant, she could still visit the studio. Plus, since Lynn asked, she couldn’t refuse, so she agreed.

When she arrived at the studio, Lynn was downstairs enthusiastically chatting with a client. Shannon listened and thought it was a pity Lynn wasn’t in sales.

It seemed like the client was a regular of Lynn’s, probably came specifically to support her, and placed an order for a wedding dress design.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Shannon. I didn’t expect a regular to visit just as I started work."

"No problem." Shannon followed Lynn upstairs and when passing Shannon’s office, Lynn complained, "I was telling Mr. Lockwood earlier, I heard you have other arrangements recently and wouldn’t be at the studio much, so I suggested temporary use of your office. Mr. Lockwood said you didn’t like others touching your things, so he didn’t agree, now I’m stuck in a crowded space with just a desk."

Shannon chuckled dryly, she hadn’t expected Lynn to want to take over her office so soon.

Maybe it was unintentional, Shannon didn’t think the worst, and just said, "My office has a lot of materials, so it’s not easy to clear it out. But I can talk to Mr. Lockwood to let you use the team leader’s office, there’s more space."

"Thanks so much, but you know, I like having my own space for inspiration when designing."

Shannon just smiled, understanding the underlying meaning of her words, but didn’t agree to temporarily lend Lynn her office; she really didn’t like others touching her things.

Lynn quickly added, "But it’s fine, it’s a new environment anyways, I’ll slowly adapt."

Shannon was no stranger to the workplace; she could pick up on subtle hints. Sometimes playing dumb was necessary; not everyone reciprocates your sincerity.
