CHAPTER 131: CHAPTER 131: PLAYING THIS WILD?

The overhead lights came on, making the hospital room as bright as daylight.

Under the glaring light, the man’s muscular body exuded a honey-colored sheen, clearly defined abs, graceful lines, a firm and bulging chest, all displaying a powerful sense of vigor and tension.

This is a perfect, sexy, mature male body full of strong hormonal aura and an abundant vitality, unharmed.

Renee Winslow folded her arms and calmly watched him.

Jack Yates looked at the young girl’s fair face, with watery big eyes, and felt an urge to pull her into his embrace but managed to hold back, his tongue pressing against his teeth, smiling playfully without fully showing it.

Renee found it hard to smile, not even able to fake one.

"Jack Yates, I didn’t expect you to be so childish."

Jack Yates laughed, "I just wanted to see if you’d cry for me."

Renee Winslow: "Haven’t you heard the story of the boy who cried wolf?"

Jack Yates: "I have."

He reached out to pull Renee into his arms, wrapping his arms around her waist, his stubbled chin nuzzling her neck, speaking in a low tone, "But Renee, I don’t care about the wolf. I just want to know if here..."

Long fingers pointed at her chest, pressing gently, "there’s a place for me."

Renee pushed off his hand, "Do you know now?"

Jack Yates chuckled deeply, turning her face to kiss her.

Renee pushed him away, "You tricked me; I can’t just forgive you like that."

Jack Yates laughed against her forehead, "How does my dear one want to punish me, huh?"

Renee Winslow said, "Get me four pairs of handcuffs. I want to cuff you."

Jack Yates squinted, smiling even more deeply: "Playing so wild?"

Renee’s face warmed, "Just get them, I need them."

Jack Yates called Harvey Lancaster and got four pairs of handcuffs quickly.

Renee asked Jack Yates to temporarily send Harvey and Benjamin Lane away, saying she didn’t want them to hear anything.

Jack Yates naturally cooperated and sent the three bodyguards far away, telling them to return in two hours.

Renee Winslow said, "Just half an hour will do."

Because the effect of the medicine would start after half an hour.

Jack Yates laughed, "Half an hour isn’t enough."

Renee told Harvey Lancaster, "Come back after half an hour."

With the door closed, Renee had Jack Yates lie down, arms and legs spread.

Jack Yates lifted a hand to touch her face, chuckling, "Darling, this is a hospital. If you really want to play, let’s go to a hotel, shall we?"

Renee snapped his hand away, "Lie down."

Jack Yates obediently lay flat, arms spread open.

Renee handcuffed his hands and feet to the headboard, then covered his eyes with her pajamas.

Jack Yates’s Adam’s apple rolled hastily, his voice turning hoarse, "Renee, this isn’t punishment; it’s a reward."

Renee patted his face after covering his eyes, "Yep, it’s a reward."

She took out the medicine bought earlier from her bag, popped out two pills, and fed them into Jack Yates’s mouth, giving him water to swallow, forcing the round pills down his throat before he could speak.

Jack Yates was forced to swallow the medication fed by Renee, though not really forced—more like going with the flow.

He’d already made the girl unhappy, so he dared not provoke her further.

Renee Winslow backed away, tore the pajamas from his face, and turned to the bathroom to rinse her mouth.

Jack Yates shook his hand, the sound of metal clashing.

He lifted his neck, his deep voice asking, "Darling, what did you feed me?"

Renee returned from the bathroom, wiping water from her lips, smiling gently, "Medicine that will make you stronger."

His long, narrow eyes suddenly squinted, his dark eyes dimmed deeper, Jack Yates asked in a low voice, "Are you saying I didn’t satisfy you?"

Renee leaned down to kiss his lips, retreating just as Jack Yates sought more, pressing a finger against his sexy thin lips with force, "Lie to me again, and I’ll make you swallow ten next time!"

With that, she picked up her handbag and turned to leave.

Jack Yates shouted, "Renee Winslow!"

But Renee ignored him and quickly walked to the door.

Jack Yates, gritting his molars fiercely, spoke coldly, "Renee Winslow, try stepping outside?"

Renee walked right out of the hospital room and shut the door.

Earlier that afternoon, she went to buy medicine with Henry Hayes, memorizing the route. Once leaving the hospital, she headed straight to the pharmacy.

The pharmacy was still open, and the saleswoman who recommended medicine earlier was still there.

Renee consulted with her on how to take a bus back to Lyncroft. By chance, the saleswoman was from Lyncroft and heading home after her shift, with her boyfriend driving her.

The saleswoman laughed and said, "If you don’t mind, you can come with us."

Renee laughed and replied, "Why would I mind? I’d be grateful."

After leaving the hospital room, Jack Yates quickly freed himself because the handcuffs weren’t real; they were bought by Harvey Lancaster from a club’s novelty section, easy to break free from.

Jack Yates quickly dressed and went to the examination room to have a shot administered by the doctor.

He phoned Harvey Lancaster, giving orders in a cold voice, "Find her within ten minutes."

Harvey Lancaster said, "Third Brother, she hasn’t gone far, still at the pharmacy where she bought medicine earlier."

Jack Yates: "Wait for me in the car."

-

The pharmacy saleswoman, Nina Norwood, is from the Vah tribe of Lyncroft, having come to Bancourt last year to work.

Nina is young, just three years older than Renee, twenty-two, studied at nursing school, but didn’t become a nurse, working over six months as a medical sales rep.

They had a great conversation, spending half an hour chatting unwittingly.

Once her shift was over, Nina took Renee’s arm and walked out of the pharmacy.

Renee thought the person standing outside the pharmacy was frightening, so she ran off.

Nina watched her in confusion and shouted, "Renee Winslow, why are you running?"

Renee remained silent, sprinting away rapidly.

Harvey Lancaster hesitated a moment, then pursued her.

Renee Winslow ran desperately forward, almost spraining an ankle from her haste.

A car followed her closely at a moderate speed; Jack Yates sat in it.

The car window lowered, his hand holding a cigarette reached out, casually flicking ash while speaking to the staggering girl, "Stop running and get in."

Upon hearing Jack Yates’s voice, Renee turned her head, scared and nearly collapsing.

Jack Yates bit down on the cigarette, gestured for her to come over, "Come here."

Renee stood on the sidewalk not moving, unable to summon the courage.

Jack Yates took a drag of the cigarette, puffing out cold white smoke from his nose, his face sharp and dangerous under the misty haze.

He pinched the cigarette between slender fingers, his voice low and magnetic, "Don’t make me say it again."

Renee stormed to the car front, "You tricked me first!"

Jack Yates reached out to touch her face, "Alright, we’re even."

Renee reluctantly compromised, "Then you can’t be mad anymore."

Jack Yates grinned, squinting playfully, "I won’t be mad, but the fire inside hasn’t quenched; how should we settle that, hmm?"
