My Possessive CEO: Trembling in His Arms
Chapter 32: "Have You Ever Liked Anyone Besides Me?
CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32: "HAVE YOU EVER LIKED ANYONE BESIDES ME?
Renee Winslow has been with Jack Yates for more than a day or two, at least they’ve been together for over a month. During this month, she stayed with him, sharing meals and living space, sleeping in the same bed every night.
Spending day and night together for over a month, even if she doesn’t want to know him, she has come to understand him to some extent.
She is well aware of how strong Jack Yates’ possessiveness and controlling desires are. Before, when she followed Jack to his friend’s venue to have fun, they met his friends, and just because she glanced twice at one of his male friends.
As a result, that night after returning, Jack went crazy, he didn’t let her off until five in the morning, which led to her not being able to get out of bed for two consecutive days.
Later on, when she was able to get out of bed, he wouldn’t allow her to leave the house. She couldn’t even step out of Thatcher Manor’s gate, being confined for three days before he permitted her to go out.
Since then, wherever she goes, she has to report to him. One time, she wanted to go out shopping, and he assigned two bodyguards to follow her, claiming protection but actually monitoring.
Having encountered Jack Yates’ forceful and relentless methods, upon hearing Jack ask, "Is he better looking or am I?" Renee didn’t even think about it. She immediately hugged his lean waist, tiptoed to kiss his lips, biting his sharp thin lips, then stepped back, angrily proclaiming, "If you ask such foolish questions again, I won’t speak to you!"
Jack Yates’ anger dissipated in an instant after her bite.
However, his hand around her waist didn’t loosen, instead it tightened further, his gaze more intense: "But he likes you."
Renee Winslow tapped his back: "You’re talking nonsense! I haven’t seen him in over two years, how could he possibly like me?"
Jack Yates: "He used to like you."
Renee Winslow pursed her lips, questioning: "Didn’t any girls like you when you were in school?"
Jack Yates: "I don’t know, maybe some did, maybe some didn’t, I didn’t pay attention because no girls dared to approach me, and I wouldn’t allow them to approach me casually."
Renee Winslow confidently stated: "There definitely were! You’re so handsome, have such a good figure, are smart, and come from a good family, there are surely girls who liked you! Even if they didn’t dare to confess openly, they would like you secretly."
When Jack Yates heard Renee put his family background last and prioritize his looks, build, and intelligence, a warm sensation surged in his heart, it felt hot and swollen, and his blood seemed to boil, feeling strangely excited, the corners of his mouth involuntarily lifted.
Jack Yates isn’t someone who laughs much, he rarely smiles. At work, he almost never smiles throughout the day, but with Renee Winslow, he seems like a different person, easily swayed by her emotions. As long as Renee shows him a bit of tenderness, he becomes infatuated like crazy.
"Darling." Jack Yates arched his back, lowered his head to kiss her lips, his voice hoarse, "Have you liked anyone besides me?"
Renee Winslow softly replied: "No."
Her answer "No" actually contained two meanings: she didn’t like Jack Yates, nor had she liked anyone else.
However, Jack Yates wasn’t easily fooled, he bit her lip lightly, his dark eyes gazing intensely at her, asking in a deep voice: "Not liked me, or not liked anyone else?"
Renee Winslow pressed her slightly numb lips together, gave a clever response: "Not liked anyone else."
Jack Yates knew Renee hadn’t fallen for him yet, she might even still loathe him, but he continued to harbor fantasies, always hoping Renee would develop feelings for him.
Yet looking at her eyes, clear as if washed by water, bright and transparent, without any hint of shyness or love, he realized Renee hadn’t fallen for him, not even a trace of affection.
The more unattainable it is, the more Jack Yates desires it, a feeling like a cat scratching at him, making his heart itch and ache.
He lifted Renee Winslow up, kicked the door with one leg, cradled her on his leg, his large hand gripping her waist, looking her directly in the eyes, his voice sharp: "Renee Winslow, humor me."
Renee Winslow raised her hand to circle his neck, softly leaned on his shoulder, tenderly said: "Third Brother, I don’t want to deceive you, I want to truly fall in love with you."
After speaking, she looked up, gazing at him with gentle affection, her smile soft and sweet: "Give me some time to truly fall in love with you, okay?"
Jack Yates felt his heart melt, what else could he say, naturally he acquiesced.
His throat tightened, his Adam’s apple rolled with urgency as Jack Yates lowered his voice to ask: "Is a month enough?"
