CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 44: SERVING HER ON MY KNEES

Renee Winslow followed Jack Yates into a gemstone store and was surprised to find that the owner was a Cathan, a Chinese businessman in Moravia.

Jack Yates asked Renee to pick a rough stone. Renee, having no knowledge of these, encountered them for the first time, and shook her head to refuse, "I don’t understand any of this. You pick for me."

Jack insisted she choose, "Pick anyone you like."

Looking at the various stones of different sizes in the display case, Renee randomly picked one and smiled at Jack, saying, "This one then."

Jack paid for it decisively, eventually cutting out two high-quality diamonds, one 200 carats and the other 30 carats, both flawless in clarity, with intact crystals, far better than what they bought at the auction.

Renee didn’t know this was all part of Jack’s plan, purely to make her happy.

She was indeed very happy, her face flushed with excitement, hugging Jack and shouting. After calling out twice, she quickly shut her mouth and her eyes flickered with undisguised worry.

She whispered to Jack, "Can we leave here safely?"

Jack patted her head affectionately and said calmly, "Don’t worry, no one will dare stop us."

Renee was still a bit worried, "But there are all kinds of people on the street, white, black, what if..."

Jack: "If I don’t return in 12 hours, this place will be razed to the ground."

Renee: "..."

Originally, Renee thought Jack was only "boasting" in front of her, until they walked out of the gemstone store and encountered three thugs trying to rob them of the diamonds.

Before the three thugs had a chance to act, eight tall and strong Moravian soldiers sprang out from the shadows, swiftly taking down the three men, scaring off anyone else who wanted to cause trouble.

Immediately after, a gunshot was heard, and the leading Moravian soldier ordered everyone on the street to retreat to the sides, clearing the whole street, making it empty and silent.

Jack calmly held Renee’s hand and left the gemstone store.

Once inside the car, Renee hugged Jack tightly.

Jack held her in his arms, lightly patting her back, "Alright, alright, I won’t bring you to places like this again."

Renee now knew Jack’s means, shocking her and at the same time spending tens of millions to buy her diamonds, displaying the tactics of a high-powered figure with both grace and awe.

Renee didn’t say anything, just hugged him tightly.

That night, Jack was very gentle, taking care of her feelings the whole time. When she asked to stop, he stopped; when she asked to slow down, he did; he even knelt before her to please her.

Two days later, Renee and Jack arrived in Crythia.

That night, under the magnificent and dreamy aurora, Jack bent down to kiss Renee and slipped a diamond ring onto her middle finger.

Renee felt the ring on her hand and was about to look down when Jack held her face, saying in a deep voice, "Baby, don’t get distracted."

In the latter half of the night, Renee lay by the hot spring, her whole body like a small sailboat drifting in the ocean, battered by giant waves.

Afterward, she sat in Jack’s arms, leaning against his firm chest, looking up at the dreamy and enchanting aurora, suddenly finding this man quite good.

However, as soon as this thought crossed her mind, Jack turned to kiss her lips and, with a hoarse whisper, said, "One more time."

Renee: "..."

She immediately retracted her thought! This man is not good at all!

After playing in Crythia for a few days, Renee returned to the country just before school started.

On the second day after returning, Renee started school, and Jack drove her to campus.

Before getting out of the car, Renee asked, "Should I continue living at school?"

She knew there was a high chance it wouldn’t be allowed, as Jack wouldn’t let her live on campus.

However, Thatcher Manor was far from her school. If she lived there, getting to class would be inconvenient. If there was a class in the first period, she would have to get up at five or six in the morning, which she didn’t want to do.

Jack looked at her bright eyes, "I bought an apartment one kilometer away from your school."

Renee knew that meant she wouldn’t be allowed to live on campus.

Jack patted her face, "Go on, I’ll have the driver pick you up later."

After reporting in, Renee still returned to her previous dorm to chat with her roommates for a while.

Joyce Pierce excitedly asked her, "Renee, how have you and Caleb Yates been these past two months?"

Renee smiled wryly, "Nothing happened. I’m not with him."

Joyce wanted to ask more but Renee changed the subject.

After that, Renee called Jack, asking him not to have the driver come to the school gate. With the start of school, there were so many people, and being seen wasn’t good.

Jack had just finished a meeting and sat down in his office when he received Renee’s call. He was in a good mood until he heard her say this, and his face immediately darkened.

In a cold voice, he asked, "Whose eyes are we avoiding?"

Renee quickly explained, "Not anyone specific. I mean, with so many people around, having the driver pull up to the gate..."

Before she could finish, Jack interrupted coldly, "Am I such a disgrace, Renee Winslow?"

Renee: "..."

She wanted so badly to ask "Why so insecure now?" but she dared not say it.

"Third brother, I didn’t mean that. Don’t overthink. Mainly, your car is too flashy. If people see me getting into such an expensive car, they might say behind my back that I’m being kept by a rich man..."

Jack replied matter-of-factly, "Do you need me to make an appearance at your school to prove it?"

"No need!" Renee refused, worried Jack might get angry. She quickly softened her tone, "Third brother, it’s not that I don’t want you at school. I just don’t like being in the spotlight. You’re so handsome and in such good shape. If others see my boyfriend is this outstanding, they’ll definitely be jealous and talk behind my back. I don’t want to become a target for gossip. Besides, if you come to our school and someone secretly takes pictures and posts them online, it won’t be good for you."

As the saying goes, the highest level of lying is to make each word true yet the whole a lie.

Everything Renee said was true, Jack is very handsome and in great shape. If he appeared on a college campus, it would instantly cause a stir, and people would take pictures of him secretly. Moreover, those who already dislike her would certainly gossip if they knew Jack was her boyfriend.

So she didn’t tell a single lie, but her true motivation wasn’t for those reasons. Her real intention was that she didn’t want Jack coming to her school, nor did she want to publicly acknowledge their relationship.

Deep down, she never considered Jack as a boyfriend, always thinking about finding an opportunity to leave him.

Jack, a formidable figure in the business world, could easily see through her little thoughts. He chuckled and directly exposed her, "Renee Winslow, you’ve always wanted to leave me, haven’t you?"

Renee: "I..."

Jack’s voice grew colder, "You want to get back with Caleb Yates, right?"
