CHAPTER 27: THE ORC ATTACKED

They ran down the hall, a group of other students were running as well. They spotted a body on the ground, it was that of a teacher, his arms had been ripped out, his eyes.

Ella was shaken when she saw it, her breath got shaky, and she wasn’t the only one, every student that saw this was shaken by it, it wasn’t a pleasant sight.

A young male student immediately bent over and hurled up his entire stomach.

Ella swallowed, pushing through it. "We have to go," she said. She helped the boy up and they kept moving. The short hallway seemed like a hundred miles, every step was filled with dread that in the next moment a monster would come out.

There was no weapon, nothing that they could use to protect themselves, the situation was dire.

Suddenly a window shattered and a goblin rushed out. It rushed toward them and one of the boys rushed at it without hesitation. He had awakened a few minutes back, and though he wasn’t trained, he was going to do his best to make sure that he survived here.

His arms turned to metal, he threw a punch and it slammed into the head of the goblin, throwing it back, but it wasn’t enough to kill it, so it attacked again. He punched again, but the goblin leaped into the air, dodged the attack, and bit into the boy’s shoulder.

"Arghhhhhhh!" The boy screamed from the bottom of his lungs, blood gushed out of his shoulder. The first began to scream, Amber was shaking right there.

Ella’s eyes widened, fear gripped her, seeing blood, and someone getting mauled. ’What would brother do? He faced odds stronger than him to pay for my needs, like him, I have to push through the odds,’ she thought to herself and then dashed forward.

She didn’t even think about it, and for a solution moment, her eyes glowed purple. She threw a punch and it slammed into the head of the goblin, so powerful that it cracked its skull and threw it off the boy.

The boy collapsed and she grabbed him. She looked at the goblin and it wasn’t moving anymore. Her breathing was heavy, her heart raced, but she was happy.

She turned, looking at the others. "Run, we have to keep running," she said. She helped the boy onto her shoulder, his blood pouring on her body, but she didn’t stop.

Everyone kept moving, they were slower now, but she was determined to make sure that they made it out.

"Thank you," the boy muttered.

"No, thank you, you fought for us," she replied.

"Nah, I was trying to be a hero," he responded with a small laugh.

"And is there anything wrong with that?" she asked. He wanted to say something else, but as he thought about it, he realized that there was nothing he could say.

They kept going, and it seemed quiet for the most part. They found three other students, a boy and two girls, one of the girls was heavily injured, but alive.

They moved together, being careful with every single step until finally, the back door of the school was in sight. They could get out through there, and there seemed to be not a single monster that way.

Joy filled their hearts, they rushed toward there, injured and all. Ella kept praying in her heart that they would make it out, and finally the door was a few steps away, when suddenly, BAM—

A door was slammed open, and a seven-foot orc smashed through, shattering the door frame. The orc separated them, everyone was on one side and Amber and another girl were at the back, behind the orc.

Ella’s eyes widened, the orc stared at the two girls, spit falling from its mouth as those canines showed it was ready to eat them.

"We have to go, we can’t save them," one boy said and ran for the door. Seeing this, the others ran as well, everyone except Ella and the guy she held.

She was hesitant, she looked at the two girls, and saw the fear in their eyes, their fates were sealed, none of them could do any damage to an orc.

She looked at the door, freedom, and escape. She took one step and then pushed the boy out. He turned around, shocked at her action.

Ella rushed in, she had nothing in hand, she attacked, hitting the orc on its back, causing it to turn. Its eyes locked on her.

Her plan was simple, get its attention and run out of the school allowing Amber and the other girl to escape. But as she turned to run away, she saw goblins at the door, five in total.

That plan was shattered in an instant. The orc attacked, swinging its arm at her. She dodged, and rolled under, getting to Amber, she helped them all get up.

"Run, run!" she yelled, and they started running. She was at the back, the orc stretched its arm and grabbed her by the leg, it pulled her to the ground.

The girls turned around, they saw her getting pulled away.

"Go, just run!" Ella yelled, but they were too scared to move. Ella looked at the orc, and started kicking its hand, but nothing worked.

It raised her into the air by her leg, its other hand ready to gut her. Her body began trembling as she realized that she was about to die here.

A tear dropped from her eye, and her eyes glowed a dim purple. The orc attacked.
