CHAPTER 36: THE S RANKED GATE

The top floor of the guild building, the door to a large conference room opened, Elena walked in followed by her ten members.

A group of people were already seated around the table, and at the top was the guild master. The moment she stepped in, she walked toward the chair at the opposite end of the table.

Her people waited for her to take her seat, and then they finally sat down. When everyone was seated, the guild master got up.

"Alright, thank you for coming, Rising Phoenix guild." He started with a greeting and then placed both hands on the table.

"As we know, there was an incident in a gate, and it was realized to be an S-ranked gate. I am very sure that all of you are here because you want to check out the gate.

Now normally, I would have allowed you to, but there are two issues, one being that your lady Elena is here, and as we all know, her presence will pull a lot of attention and cause a bit of a commotion.

But that’s secondary, the main reason that I called you here is due to the nature of this gate in particular. Normally, the lack of electricity in the realms behind the gate is why we don’t have any devices there.

Also, for some reason, we can’t mount anything that can generate electricity, they always get destroyed no matter how we try.

But that doesn’t stop us from taking technology into the gates, we can take them and we use them until they die and we need to take them out.

But that’s not the case with this gate." He said and then walked to the electric board on the wall, it showed an image of the gate.

"This is from outside the gate, now wait as I play a video of someone trying to enter with a camera." He said and a video was played immediately. The video started with someone headed for the gate casually, and then when they stepped through, the camera glitched out and crashed.

"That’s exactly what happens when you take any form of our technology into that world behind the gate." He said.

"So if this is the case, how was the video taken?" Andrew asked.

"Well, the first time a normal camera was used and we lost everything, so we decided to switch to a Livestream and record it from here." He explained.

"I see, so is there a hypothesis about what could be causing this?" Andrew asked.

"Yes, and honestly, it’s daunting, we are thinking that the rating we gave this gate might be far too low, and there might be more to it than we know.

A few S-ranks have entered and they could tell from the first point that the monsters were standard S-rank gate strength." The guild master said.

"But they haven’t gone deeper, which means there is a lot of possibility that there are far stronger things inside there." Elena finished what he wanted to say.

"Yes, lady Elena, I feel the laws of that world behind that gate are far more chaotic than any other which would explain why technology isn’t working." He added.

"So I’m guessing that besides the normal entering of the gates, you also want to plan some sort of high-level expedition into the gate." She said.

"Exactly, using everything at our disposal," He said.

"Hmm, that’s fine, we can iron out the details of it later, but before then, we need info about the gate. I heard three people survived." She said.

"Yes, we have statements from the three, and I can give them to you, but honestly, I think the third person will have more interest to you, and if you can make him talk, you’ll get more information.

Normally I would not tell you this, but I’m using it as a start to the relationship between the outside of the awakened guild and the Rising Phoenix." He stated.

"Hmm, who is the person?"

Silva knelt down, breathing heavy, the cold air freezing the insides of his nose. Two bodies of yetis littered on the floor right in front of him.

So far he had killed three, but the fight had taken everything from him, forcing him to use even his Minotaur’s Rage.

He was about to get up and dig out the cores when he sensed a group of people around him, five to be precise, four men and one lady.

All of them had on the same type of armor, which meant they were some sort of party or group.

"Hey, looks like you did a good job cutting down those yetis." The lady said, she had a sinister grin on her face. Silva could already feel their intent, he knew this wasn’t going to end well.

He still had twenty minutes before the cooldown of the Minotaur’s Rage. Handling five people was definitely going to be hard.

The fact was that they were all in a D-ranked gate, which meant they were E-ranked and D-ranked awakened.

He got up and faced them, "Thank you," he said and walked toward the first yeti. The lady frowned, "Hey, why don’t we help you with it?" She asked.

"I’m fine, thank you." He said again and got to work. One of the men walked close and grabbed him by the shoulder. "Hey, we are offering to help, yetis are hard to kill and someone might try to take your score away." He said.

Silva turned slowly, he looked at the hand on his body and spoke, "Get those grimy fingers off my back and step away." He said, his eyes glowed purple, the man felt a sense of fear run through his body, he took a step back.

But when he realized his party were watching him, he frowned and pulled out his sword, ready to attack.

In that moment, Silva didn’t know where or how, but a thought came to his mind.

’Humans are so repulsive.’
