CHAPTER 38: MEETING ELENA

Silva looked at the spear, his eyes wide in awe. He had created an artefact without even blacksmithing or using a core.

"Demonic forge, huh," he muttered, a smile on his face. He looked at the bodies on the ground and, without hesitation, he turned them into weapons using Demonic Forge.

Two swords, a spear, and two daggers, that was what he got. He picked each one separately and looked at them closely. Each one looked like a weapon crafted by the gods.

He placed them in his inventory and then focused on the yetis. He dug out their cores and then tried to use Demonic Forge on them. One worked and left behind a large white fur cloak.

But immediately after, a splitting headache hit him. He collapsed to the ground while holding his head.

[You have run out of demonic energy.]

He looked at the system screen, realizing that the Demonic Forge ate a lot of demonic energy. The dizziness refused to subside. He collapsed to the ground and lay there for ten minutes before he could finally get back on his feet.

"Urghh, I have to be cautious when using it. I don’t want to end up without energy for a fight," Silva muttered. He picked up the cloak.

[Demonic forged yeti cloak, D-ranked artefact, reduces all physical damage by 20% for five minutes.]

He read the short description of the ability it held and smiled. He looked at the rest, eager to try it on them as well, but he had barely recovered five percent of his energy. He couldn’t waste it all here again.

He left. After all, he would have more opportunities to get more. He headed for the gate and left. As soon as he stepped out, he was about to hail a taxi when suddenly two men in full black suits stood in front of him.

"Mr. Silva Tallon, please come with us. We are from the Awakened Guild," they spoke in a heavy tone. Silva looked at them; he was already calculating how he would escape if things went south.

He already had on his cloak, which he had just got, and his gauntlets were still engaged. The men seemed to sense his worry, so one spoke, "You don’t have to be worried, Mr. Silva. There is simply someone important that would love to have a word with you."

Silva took a deep breath and nodded. They led him to a black car, and they all got in. Right away they started driving.

Silva pulled out his phone and texted his sister: [I might be later than usual today.]

[Alright, bro, be safe. Also, my boyfriend will be coming to the house, tehee, byee.] she responded.

Silva saw the message and immediately sent another one.

[Oh hell no, I don’t permit this, Ella.]

But his message only left one tick, which meant she had gone offline.

"Arghhhh, this girl, boyfriend? When? He better pray I come back late," he thought, biting his lip hard. The thought of his sister having a boyfriend didn’t sit well with him, especially one he was yet to see.

The drive took a few minutes, and they arrived at a large building. The guards opened the door for him.

"Head in, someone is waiting for you there," one said. Silva nodded and walked toward the building, each step masking his slight nervousness. His mind was racing, trying to understand who would want to see him.

The moment he stepped through the door, he saw someone standing there, Andrew, the same one that had been with Lady Elena.

Silva recognized him the moment he walked into the building, but Andrew acted like he didn’t. He shifted his glasses, looked Silva up from top to bottom, and then started walking.

"Come with me," he said. Silva walked behind him as they headed for the elevator.

"The Lady Elena wants to see you. I advise you to be on perfect behavior," Andrew said. They stepped into the elevator, he set the floor he wanted, and they started going up.

"There are people there that would kill you in a heartbeat if you disrespect her, myself included," he said and adjusted his glasses.

Silva didn’t pay attention to the man; he was already in his own mind space, thinking of possible reasons why Elena would want to see him.

She had given him her contact info, but he was yet to contact her, so what could it be? Finally, they arrived at the floor and walked out.

Andrew led him to a room and opened the door. The first thing that hit Silva was the soft scent of flowers that reached his nose. He subconsciously took a deep breath. It was a massive office. A table sat at the center, placed on a very expensive rug.

And behind it was Elena, leaned back into a chair and looking at Silva the moment he walked in. Her eyes were emotionless, but when she saw Silva, she raised her brow.

"You, you are the kid from before," she said.

"Kid, huh?" Silva thought. He walked inside. "Yes, you and I met today," he said.

"I see. Sorry for what my subordinate did to you; he is getting disciplined. Also, on another note, this is good, can make my apology, and we can handle the issue that I called you here for," she said, and then pointed at a chair.

Silva walked to the chair and sat down. Elena nodded at Andrew, and he left the two of them in the office.

"I guess this time I should introduce myself," she said.

"I already know who you are, Lady Elena, one of the strongest Awakened in the zone," Silva said.

"Seems you know me. Well then, may I know you?" she asked.

"Silva Tallon," he said in response. "But I’m pretty sure you already knew that if you looked for me specifically.

The issue is, I’m still thinking about what exactly would be the reason that you called someone like me to meet you," he said.

"Straight to business, I see. I wanted to ask you about the gate where the incident happened," she said.
