My Primordial Demon System
Chapter 62 62: Meeting Noel part 2
"You haven't heard of it because it's not happening really fast, the percentage has been slowly increasing over the past few weeks.
Specifically, after the gate that opened in this town," she said.
"You mean the new S-ranked gate?" Elena asked.
"Yes, that gate. After it opened, there had been three more E-ranked gates in that time, and yesterday, a D-rank gate appeared.
Now, the appearance of these low-rank gates has always been more, and they are overlooked, but this number is a bit too much for one state.
We also checked other states in the zone, and their number has come up a bit, seeing one or two new E-ranked gates in the past week," she said.
"You said this was linked to the cult, but it sounds linked to the S-ranked gate more," Elena said.
"Well yeah, I was getting to that. I've gone into that S-ranked gate, I haven't dug too deep into it, but I did find something that was interesting.
It was patterns similar to what was found in everything related to the cult: their ritual patterns, their way of writing, their language.
When you walk around the gate, you see more of them lying around, and so it makes you wonder how they have such patterns when the gate only opened recently and has been guarded," Lily said.
"There is a connection between them, tch, I should have known they would be something like this," Elena said.
Silva listened to what they were saying, and it put a thought in his mind. *Nubris was a demon, it would make sense if a cult that is trying to pull a demon would have some things from demons.
Now I'm curious as to how deep their culture actually goes.* He looked up at Elena.
"What about the people you arrested?" he asked. "Is there no information that you have gotten from them?"
"No, their cult is an extremely tight-lipped group. It's so bad that we can't even pry the information out of their minds, they must be willing to give it to us, and to that, they choose death rather than to give it," she said.
"Hmmm, I see. So what if I could help?" he asked.
"Huh?" The two ladies looked at him, confused.
"Didn't you hear what I said?" she asked.
"I did, and I'm saying, what if I have a method to try?" he said.
"Hmmmm, you sound pretty confident, and as it stands, we have no other way to actually get any information from them, so we'll give it a try.
Come tomorrow and we'll head to where we keep them, you can try," Elena said.
"Hmm, now, can I ask what you plan to do with the core?" Lily asked, looking at Silva with a sly smile.
"He was handing it to me, Lily, don't have any ideas," Elena said.
"Ohh, come on, don't be like that. Your organization barely needs it, and I'm sure we can pay more for it." She looked at Elena with a grin.
Elena frowned. She looked at Lily with a cold, hard stare.
"Don't even try it or I'll cut you down before you can take a move," she said.
"Tsk, fine, you can have it," she said and tossed it. "You'll probably place it up for auction in the first place, I'll just have to meet the old man and make him buy it," Lily said.
"That old dragon spoils you too much," Elena said.
"It's what you get for being a prodigy like me," she said confidently and with a smile. Then she turned to Silva. "If you destroy any more gates, come to me," she said and handed him a card. He took it from her, he didn't bother to read it yet before he got on his feet.
"I'll be leaving for now, I'll come tomorrow," he said. Elena nodded, and he walked out.
After he was gone, Lily returned her leg to the table. "So tell me, who is the kid?" she asked.
"Someone unusual. I have a feeling that he might become a monster that could give even us S-ranked a run for our money," Elena said.
"Huh? That can't be possible," Lily said.
"Well, only a few weeks ago he was a frail, weak F-ranked Sensory-type awakened, and now he destroyed a C-ranked gate," Elena said.
"Wait, what? That's impossible," Lily said.
"I guess it's hard to believe when you get such a bomb dropped on your head. I, on the other hand, have watched it happen. Though shocking, it's not as bad.
But what I can say for sure is, there is something definitely different about him, he isn't like normal awakened."
[....]
Silva got a taxi back home. He unlocked the door and walked in, only to find his sister there, Noel as well, and her classmate Amber.
"Deja vu?" he muttered.
"Bro, you're back," Ella said.
Amber's head turned immediately when she heard that. She got up and rushed to him.
"Hey, Ella's brother, it's been a while," she said with a smile.
'Again, I do not know you girl, what the hell is up with you.' He thought, but out of courtesy, he responded, "Yeah, I've been busy."
"I can tell." She said. She looked at his muscles bulging through the clothes, his more refined jaw, and colder eyes.
But those eyes weren't looking at her, they were looking at Noel. Noel felt a shiver down his spine.
"Noel, last time you left before we got to talk, please stay today, okay? My sister is an exceptional cook, so let's eat together," he spoke.
Noel subconsciously nodded. Something in himself told him that if he refused, he would probably die.
"Alright then, let me clean up," he said and flashed a smile, but to Noel, it looked like the smile of a devil. He couldn't help but shiver even more.
Silva left them and went into his room, while Amber stood there with dreamy eyes.
