My Primordial Demon System
Chapter 64 64: The Secrets
They walked to a point, and then she stopped. "Wait for a bit," she said.
They stood there and after a few seconds the ground gave way, and then some sort of metallic platform was revealed. It started descending.
They went deeper underground and the top closed. The walls of the hole were made of reinforced metal.
"When you said maximum security, you guys weren't joking," Silva said.
"Some of the most dangerous people have been locked here. It's one of many maximum-security prisons around the zone," Elena explained.
"They are all made by the top guilds and the Awakened Guild," she said.
"There is only one known way out, which is through this shaft," Andrew added.
They arrived at the bottom. They were met by a man in a full black uniform. After exchanging some greetings, he led them through the hallway with several heavy reinforced metal doors.
Silva tried to use his sensing in there, but it was blocked out, the first time he had met with such a thing.
"I'd suggest you don't do that; this building blocks Awakened abilities like sensory types and you might get registered as a threat by the building," the guard said to Silva while walking.
"What material is used?" Silva asked.
"That's restricted information. A metal that can work against the Awakened, if it became public information, bullets and more would fill the market and it would become a very bad time as a whole," he said.
So regulations are what keep everything under control; the Awakened Guild controls who gets what and when, Silva thought.
They were now at an interrogation room, and inside was a man, one of the higher ranks from the cult.
He looked malnourished and exhausted; his eyes barely held life.
Silva looked at him, pulled out a ceramic mask and put it on before walking to the door. The guards opened the door and allowed him in.
The others stood outside, watching through the one-way glass.
Silva walked to the chair opposite the man and sat down. He watched the man quietly for a while without uttering a single word.
The silence felt uneasy and the man spoke, "Whatever you want, I won't give you," he said.
"Why not?" Silva asked.
"Because the plan of our group is beyond you humans, and when we finally make it happen, you all will understand," he said.
"You are summoning demons," Silva said. The man's eyes widened when he heard that; he looked at Silva, shock written all over his face.
"How did you know that?" he asked.
"You want to know?" Silva asked.
"Yes, tell me, tell me everything," he roared.
Silva stretched out his hands and showed him the mark on his hands. "Does this remind you of anything?" he asked. The man looked at the mark, and the more he did, the more his eyes widened.
"That... that's a demon seal. How do you have that?" he asked. Silva smiled and got up. He walked to the door and walked out.
"Lady Elena, I might be able to get the information out, but he won't speak if he knows you are listening, so please, do me a favor," he said. She looked a little reluctant and nodded at the guard.
The guard turned off all the microphones and Silva went inside.
'I don't know how long they'll keep the mics off; I have to work fast,' he thought, and then walked back in.
He looked the man dead in the eye and then allowed his energy to seep out.
When the man felt it, his mouth dropped, his body trembling. "Yo—you are a d-emon," he stammered.
"Yes, I am, and now I need to understand what you have been doing and planning. They'll turn the mics on soon, so speak." Silva stopped the flow of energy and walked back to his seat.
The man looked at him, this time not with hate, but with reverence. He understood that he couldn't act out of place; it could cause the people outside to be suspicious.
"My Lord, what are you doing here?" he asked.
"I was sent by Nubris to watch," Silva said.
"You mean one of the great generals of Hell, Nubris, sent you? We knew it was the right thing to trigger the gate," he said.
"Trigger the gate? What do you mean?" Silva asked.
"The gate that opened in town. We sacrificed hundreds for the sake of it and were able to trigger the gate.
We were lucky to get one of that sort, and if we keep making more gates, we will get another like that. I am satisfied to know that our actions have actually brought a demon to us. You'll help us destroy all humans while you reign supreme," the man said eagerly; there was joy in his voice.
Silva frowned. "You are killing humans to make gates?" he asked.
"Yes. Their worthless lives act as fuel. We have tried to summon demons directly as well, but it has been failing, so we have been trying to trigger more gates," he explained.
"I see. That's good then. Finally tell me, is that all you know?" Silva asked.
"Yes, my Lord. Only the higher-ups know more details, like that of the great prophecy. He shall come to Earth and change the earth, bring his world to ours," he said.
"That's a prophecy?"
"Yes it is. We live by it. Your Lord, the Lord of Hell, shall come through the gates and destroy all of humanity."
"I see. I'm done with you then," Silva got up, walked to the door, turned back and looked at the man. "Thank you for telling me the truth. I'll make sure I destroy all of you and all your cult, you disgusting humans," he said and walked out the door.
He slammed the door and walked to Elena.
"Did you get anything?" she asked.
"A lot, and it's worse than what any of you thought." He turned inside to look at the man, who was now confused and panicked that he might have told someone the secrets of the cult.
