My Primordial Demon System
Chapter 7: Primordial Demon System
CHAPTER 7: PRIMORDIAL DEMON SYSTEM
Year 2120, Wednesday, Day 28, Month November, 7:00 a.m.
The rays of light pierced through the darkness, reaching deep through the closed eyelids and calling out to Silva.
His fingers twitched, his eyes twitched, then they opened, only to be assaulted with a huge flood of white light, so he shut them immediately.
"Arghhhhhh," he groaned, his eyes burning from the light that had flooded in.
’Wait, I’m alive,’ he realized. He didn’t die in that dungeon. He slowly opened his eyes, allowing himself to adjust to the light. The blurry surroundings slowly took shape.
He was inside a hospital room. He heard the beeping of machines, the smell of a room that had been sterilized, and the cool air that came from the air conditioning.
He slowly turned his head to the side. It wasn’t a very big room, but it was neat and also had some high-tech devices keeping him alive and well.
"I can’t afford such a hospital, and my sister can’t as well, so why am I here?" he wondered. Not wanting to stress himself out more, he turned his head and focused on the ceiling.
He took a deep breath, but then the flashes of what happened inside that dungeon came to his mind.
"Arghhh."
The memories somehow hurt, and he groaned in pain. He recalled the deaths that happened at the hand of Nubris. He recalled Lewen and the others.
Then he recalled the mark and the screen before he passed out.
’What was that power I used?’ he wondered.
And as if to answer his question, a screen suddenly popped up.
[Welcome Back User]
It showed the details, and he also heard a calm feminine voice in his head. He jerked back in fright, not expecting what happened.
"What the hell?"
He raised his hand slowly and ran it through the screen, but his hand went right through.
His breathing got heavy. "What the hell is going on here?" he muttered.
[You awakened the primordial demon system that had been lying dormant in you]
"The what of the what?" he asked again, confused.
[You awakened the primordial demon system that had been lying dormant in you], the system said again.
"Yeah, yeah, I heard you the first time, just... what exactly are you?" he asked.
[I am the primordial demon system, a powerful system tailored to help the user become a full primordial demon.]
She explained, but that didn’t mean Silva understood it all. But that would have to wait, as the door of the room suddenly swung open.
Silva looked at the door. He saw a doctor, then looked back at the screen, worried that the doctor would see it, but it seemed that wasn’t the case, the doctor couldn’t see it.
The doctor was a beautiful lady, with beautiful tan skin and long black hair that reached down to her waist. She wore a loosely buttoned-up white shirt under her coat that allowed the top of her bosom to push out a little. Her black skirt stopped way before her knees, tight on her due to her curves.
She was the definition of seductive in a workplace, but Silva was too worried about other things to be looking at her. She walked toward him, her heels making loud footsteps as she approached.
She stared at Silva, and he looked back. "Seems someone is awake. I’m your doctor, Mia," she said, then leaned in and checked his temperature with the back of her hand for checking’s sake. The smell of her luxurious perfume wafted into his nose; it was soft and flowery.
She stood back up. "It’s shocking how you survived that," she said.
Silva was immediately confused, so he asked, "Do you know everything that happened?"
"Well, I was briefed about it when you were brought here, and it also made the news. ’Tragedy in D-ranked gate,’ that was the headline.
About twenty awakened lost their lives in a gate that was supposed to be a D-ranked gate," she said. She picked up her tablet and pen and began writing something.
"How was I found?" Silva asked.
"Well, the story was that two people escaped the gate, and they reported everything to the guild, and so five A-ranked and one S-ranked were called in to check the gates.
News says that they managed to raid the gate, and for certain, the monsters inside were at least as strong as an A-ranked awakened. Such a gate could never be tagged D-ranked," she said. She leaned into her chair.
"You were found there, simply a step away from death," she finished.
"They managed to raid the dungeon? What about Nubris?" Silva asked.
"Nubris? What’s that?" she asked.
’She doesn’t know about Nubris. Could it be that the guild hid details of Nubris from the public? Or did they not see him?’ Silva wondered. He looked at her. "No, it’s nothing," he said.
She raised her brow but didn’t ask anything more; she just wrote down on her tablet.
"Who brought me to the hospital? I’m sure I have no way to afford this," Silva stated.
"Oh, you don’t have to worry about that, this is entirely covered by the guild," she said and got up. "We will run some more tests on you, but in the meantime, we have some men in suits that want to see you. I’ll let them in." She walked out of the room.
Not up to a minute later, the door opened, and two men in black suits and glasses walked in. The one behind carefully closed the door and locked it.
That action alone made Silva apprehensive, but he tried to swallow his fear and calm down. Both men walked to the side of the bed; one pulled the stool and sat down while the other stood.
"Good day, Mr. Silva. My name is X-16 from the United Awakened Guild, and this is my partner, X-20.
We have a few questions that we hope you’ll be able to answer for us truthfully," the one seated spoke.
