My Servant System
Chapter 1464 - 1463: Timelapse
CHAPTER 1464: CHAPTER 1463: TIMELAPSE
With the discovery that my Ritual Circle did actually work and that there was only a few sets of tweaks between us and a large quantity of potable water I was given free reign to yank Anput to and fro as I got the various waterways set up.
She helped by forming the long trenches of hardened clay and stone that would carry the water wherever we desired it and by also hollowing out the large ’lakes’ that we would eventually use for farming.
The little that we knew about the subject didn’t really deter us from giving it a go though, and even still each little nugget that we were certain we knew was different from one another, so we had a nice amount of information to go off of make something that might work.
That took up an entire day for me, and even though I made sure everything was just barebones and was easily reversible if we needed to get rid of it I still had made a lot of progress, to the point that the next morning gave us a wonderful sight.
Multiple glittering pools of water were around us now, providing quite the view and also a lot of functionality; it immediately got me thinking of how we could use them now, and that led to yet another realization.
If I could get the runes right and figure out a way to have my Water Mana and Anput’s Earth Mana work simultaneously at the initial activation of a Ritual Circle, we could - in theory - have a functional Nature Mana Ritual Circle that could accelerate the growth of crops exponentially.
This would be extremely resource heavy and expensive on our end to keep going, and it would take a large amount of tinkering on my end to make work, but with nothing better for me to do at the moment it was as good of a task as any.
With that task handed out to myself by myself I was able to shirk the responsibly of building things and also all the planning and laying out of various build sites that Jahi wanted to get done as soon as possible.
I left that to them and instead turned my attention towards the things I knew I could not only do, but the things that I liked doing too; that was selfish of me, yes, but I more than made up for it every single night without complaint, and with Mom not being able to help herself I was ’safe’ since she was now working alongside everyone because... why not, I suppose.
Perhaps it was a futanari thing, or maybe it was just the ’masculinity’ coming out in them as they watched things get built, but all of them seemed quite fascinated by what was being built and determined to continue building even more... so I wasn’t complaining.
Leone and Mother Ria were the ’exceptions’ to that, though the Vampire got roped back in to help with the city layout while Mother Ria was asked to help fire up some bricks that Jahi wanted to use to make things look better.
Instead of just using Anput’s Earth Magic to summon rock walls and shore up the land itself the Demoness decided to make things more complicated by having real brick walls around our compound... which yes, would look nicer, but they were also not entirely... ’worth’ it.
But I wasn’t doing anything with them nor did I really care that much, so I just continued to enjoy the peace of the house as I puzzled over my theories for hours on end while also enjoying the time with my Mother and two baby half siblings.
Which... those two little rascals were very much determined to make any amount of research I did take twice as long since Alessandra was becoming deceptively good at sneaking her way over to the table while we looked away to try and ’read’ my journal while Lakshmi just knew that the things in said journal made pretty colors and she liked the way they glowed.
It was a constant game of cat and mouse since it was very difficult to not get distracted by one of the others coming in to ask for assistance, take breaks or get something to eat, which had Mother or I going to help them before returning.
Alessandra would somehow convince Lakshmi to become extremely active and have the Demoness bounce around so that she could get to the journal without being caught while Lakshmi herself was extremely talented at getting to where we didn’t want her, all while she was right under our noses.
They were both super troublesome yet at the same time it was so amusing dealing with them since they showed such an interest in what I was doing, which warmed my heart quite a bit while I made the most of our time together.
We weren’t going to be gone from one another’s lives for a long time but just knowing that they were going to be a day or so away from us meant there was no easy way to see them regularly... and in turn that meant they were going to grow without us seeing them.
That was a bit of a sour pill to swallow since that was the last thing I wanted, yet at the same time it was best since we were going to want our own space and they were going to need theirs too; by ’their’ I meant Mother and them, not the two little ones.
All this thinking was done inside of the new house, and slowly but surely the rest of the immediate surroundings were being filled with new structures as everyone else got to work setting everything up.
It was all coming together one hour after another, which was somewhat ahead of the schedule I had mentally prepared yet very acceptable in terms of pace since this would make us rather prepared for the end of the month.
All we needed to do now was start setting up the places where the citizens would reside and hopefully begin building up our food supply for their arrival; otherwise I was going to pray that they came with some food of their own as we continued to work on figuring out a solution to that problem...
