My SSS-Rank Clone Talent: I Level Up Endlessly!
Chapter 249: Second Round!?
CHAPTER 249: SECOND ROUND!?
"I am not worthy?"
"Yeah, do you think that Mythic Grimoire is so easy to tame?" Lilith sneered, ruthlessly.
"What do you mean?" Grey asked, a little confused in his heart because the system notification had already appeared when he tamed her.
But then again, when he thought further, his expression became strange because he didn’t gain any title and skills when he tamed a Mythic Grimoire.
He did gain a skill when he tamed a Diamond Grimoire for the first time, but you are telling him that he couldn’t gain anything when he tamed a Mythic Grimoire?
Something didn’t stick right!
"I don’t know about it, you should ask her yourself after you return." Lilith casually shrugged with nonchalance.
"Hmm."
Grey narrowed his eyes, thought for a moment, then sighed in helplessness, "I will deal with this later, but for now let’s remove Zarek from this chain."
"And how will you do that?" Lilith asked.
"Well." Grey turned and looked at one of the souls behind her, one with a petite frame, two small wings sticking out of her back, and a thin tail with the tip shaped like a heart.
Nyxaria!
"Hmm?" Nyxaria tilted her head innocently.
Zarek opened his eyes in the real world. He looked the same and normal as before; however, there was a pink glint in his eyes.
He spread his Telekinesis outward from his body. The chains had loosened enough for his Telekinesis to surge outward.
Soon, he could sense a guard who was guarding outside his cell.
’Use it,’ Zarek muttered, and the pink light in his eyes brightened by a considerable degree.
Grey used the power of Nyxaria.
In just a few breaths, the door opened again, and a woman walked in with long, flowing blue hair and trance-like eyes.
Her eyes stared straight ahead as if there was no life to them. In a trance, she walked up to Zarek’s cell and swiftly tried to open it as bright golden light flashed and a key materialised in her arms.
Just as she was about to open it, her body flinched and violently jerked, as if an unknown force was trying to stop her.
Zarek immediately noticed this and frowned in his heart.
’Let me use your power, Grey.’
"You— You—..."
The woman was stuttering, her trance tethering on the edge of consciousness.
Veins popped around her head as she grinded her teeth constantly.
Her bloodshot eyes fell on Zarek’s face, and instantly she became calm again, her temperament returning back to normal slowly but surely.
The key in her hand made its way to the cage, but there was no key socket, which made Zarek a little confused.
As it touched the cage, instantly he felt the movement of divine energy, and the next moment, the cage turned into light and vanished in front of him.
Just as this happened, the woman’s bloodshot eyes changed back again and she opened her mouth, then exploded, turning into light which was swept away by the wind quickly.
Zarek, out of the cage, had a stern look on his face. Although the cage had shattered, the chains that bound him were still intact, and he still couldn’t move properly.
Luckily, his strategy had worked and at least he was free from his cage, and with it, his Telekinesis could go much farther now with very fewer constraints.
Inside the soul space, Grey praised Nyxaria: "Good job, you did very well."
"Thank you, master." She purred with a happy smile.
Nyxaria, this grimoire looked almost useless because her power was only to seduce, which was useless since this wasn’t a passive effect like Grey’s skill, and one could easily defend against it by shielding themselves.
Not only that, it took too much spiritual energy to even allow oneself to cast the spell.
Since this was such a troublesome spell in combat, everyone and their mothers knew about this spell in the Book Taming World.
However, it was a different case in this world, where there was essentially no counter to such things.
Here, the elements of hexes and curses, those which can invisibly attack you are simply terrifying.
Also, just when that woman was about to come out of her trance-like state, Zarek used his Charm that supplemented the seduction spell and was able to successfully complete the task; otherwise, their plan might have entirely failed.
The reason they didn’t use the seduction spell on Alice was because she was the daughter of that woman, a woman filled to the brim with Divine Energy and said to be the one who would communicate with the human god.
Who knows what kind of protection she had set for her daughter.
For now, he didn’t want to test the waters yet.
And his escape could be justified as long as he didn’t mingle with the dragons. However, this would be completely useless if the divine temple were to announce him as the traitor of humanity.
Then, no matter how he explained, they wouldn’t listen to him.
So even if he escaped from this divine temple, there was a layer of trouble waiting for him. His escape plan wasn’t as simple as going out of this place either; that was only his last plan if nothing truly worked.
Anyway, Zarek, who was still bound in chains, used his Telekinesis and his body levitated before flying forward.
The door appeared in front of him, which he quickly used his Telekinesis to open and carefully sensed for any presence. When he sensed none, he floated forward.
Immediately, he could hear the wails, cries, and pleas of countless people constantly rising in his ears.
Zarek froze on the spot.
He looked around him; there were countless doors before him, prison cells, one might say and these cries were coming from there.
Thinking for a while, he floated towards them and peeked through a small key socket. Seeing the terrifying state of the individuals, he couldn’t help but take a breath of cold air.
"Damn."
In front of Zarek’s eyes lay a mangled figure broken beyond recognition.
The man’s limbs hung twisted and shattered, torn from their sockets, ripped apart. His scalp was brutally crushed and patches of hair were yanked out.
Only two teeth remained in his mouth, and whip marks scarred his malnourished body.
He emitted constant noises of deep, guttural growls eerily reminiscent of a zombie’s growl, sending a chill down the spine of anyone who heard.
Zarek swallowed hard, took a steadying breath, and quietly backed away from the grim scene. He turned his attention to the other cells, cautiously observing the state of their prisoners.
Each cell he visited was more bloody and gruesome than the last.
Each one caused him to vomit from the sheer sight of it.
"This is really nauseating." He took a deep breath and calmed his thoughts.
If he wanted to right now, Zarek could definitely escape from the place without informing anyone, but that wasn’t his plan. His pupils glinted in calculation as he looked at each cell, and his Telekinetic power surged outward again.
With a click, the cells of all these people instantly opened, and the growls, wails, and cries stopped in disbelief.
"I have freed you now, come out." Zarek muttered in his heart with a sneer.
Thump! Thumpd!
It was as if the earth itself quaked, as one by one, people began to shuffle out of their cells. Their movements were slow, heavy with lethargy, almost like zombies roaming without purpose.
He wanted to unleash chaos just as the festival was about to begin.
That distraction would be enough for him to...
Zarek twisted his body with Telekinesis, preparing to leave, when suddenly one of the people let out a guttural growl and lunged at him with ferocious speed. The man’s fist was aimed straight at Zarek’s head.
"You people attack the hands that feed you," Zarek scoffed mockingly.
Time seemed to freeze for the man as he halted mid-air, his fist suspended, never moving an inch further, as if the world itself had stopped him in his tracks.
Zarek’s icy blue pupils locked onto the undead suspended in the air, his gaze cold and indifferent.
The moment their eyes met, the creature’s body exploded violently, shredded apart by the sheer force of Zarek’s Telekinesis. Blood and organs rained down in a grotesque display, splattering across the stone walls.
The others, who had been itching to make a move, froze mid-step. It was as if time itself had stopped.
With a sneer curling in his heart, Zarek turned his back on them and levitated away with casual disinterest, as if nothing had happened.
A tense silence settled over the place. No one moved. No one spoke.
Then, slowly, the prisoners emerged from the underground prison, only to be met by the sight of crowds gathered above. A twisted grin spread across one of their faces. Without hesitation, he struck down one of the praying onlookers.
In an instant, chaos erupted.
Meanwhile, a cloaked figure silently slipped through the crowd. However, his movements were strange, it looked as if he were gliding across the ground rather than walking. Soon, he reached a certain individual and handed her a strange shape made of glittering gold.
The woman nodded silently as she hurriedly hid it away.
The cloaked figure also nodded and disappeared in the chaos and soon returned underground.
After going underground, his cloak lifted in the air, revealing the visage of Zarek.
"Now that I have given the sacred image, it is time to confront the Excalibur again."
The corner of his lips curled into an evil smile as he continued forward, levitating.
Soon, he reached another segment of the underground, where a small hill rose with a simple sword atop it.
"Time for Second Round!"
