CHAPTER 280: AUTHORITY OF DEMI-GOD!?

Zarek certainly had many uncertain thoughts in his heart. Looking at the floating castle above the sky, it made a layer of uncertainty cloud his brain because of the fact he could feel many terrifying presences inside it, leagues above him.

It was so terrifying that his body instinctively froze.

’Just how strong are they?’ he thought as he ’adapted’ to the instinct and snapped out of the pressure.

Zytharia was still pushing him from behind to force him to enter the castle.

’Welp, let’s just enter for now.’

He thought to himself and quickly walked ahead. Zytharia, who didn’t have any support to rely on, almost fell to the ground.

She quickly steadied herself and let out a sharp "Hmpf" before following Zarek.

Meanwhile, Aiken and Eden exchanged bitter smiles.

If Zarek joined them, with his talent, they knew he would quickly surpass them, becoming their superior and their futures would grow uncertain.

They hadn’t thought it through when they attacked Zarek before. After all, he was just a Telekinetic Master, what could he do with such meager power? But now the realization had set in, and terror gripped their hearts at the future of Zarek and their misfortune in the future.

Zarek soon arrived in front of the castle, standing silently before a huge door, his blue pupils fixed on it.

"Hmm, who will open the gates?" he turned towards Zytharia with a questioning gaze. There were no guards in place, only a huge door in front of him.

"For one to be able to enter the house of demi-gods, they must prove their worth and move to open this giant gate with their own effort," Zytharia spoke with a cold tone.

"I see, hmm." Zarek scratched his chin. "Can I use anything for it?"

"Yes, the further you are able to push the door, the more status and authority you will have in the house of demi-gods. For example, an average Telekinetic Paragon can push this gate by fifteen inches relying on their telekinetic power alone."

"That is interesting." His ears twitched when he heard this.

"What about them then?" Zarek grinned as he turned towards the two Telekinetic Paragons who were silent.

"They pushed it by twenty inches," Zytharia said.

"That is also interesting."

Zarek nodded his head with a smile on his face. "What if I completely open the gates then?"

"You will have the same authority as a demi-god, and your status will be the same."

"Very well." He accepted the challenge without hesitation. First, he stomped on the ground hard, causing the ground to shake as if an earthquake had occurred.

Then his golden body shined, circulating all the Divine Energy within him, converting it into raw strength.

Zarek didn’t bother using his Telekinetic energy—there was no need. Instead, he relied on raw strength, pushing his limits.

With slow, deliberate steps, he approached the door and pressed his palm against it.

Bang!

A shockwave rippled outward as his palm slammed into the gate, a spine-chilling screech echoing through the space.

"Hupp!" Zarek gritted his teeth, pouring every ounce of strength into his arms. Veins bulged across his golden-hued skin.

For a long moment, the gate stood immovable, not budging an inch, like cold, unyielding stone.

But then, it slowly started to move, inch by inch, further and further, fueled by the raw strength of Zarek.

It went ten inches, then fifteen, and didn’t stop until the gate completely opened.

Zarek took a long, labored breath, flexing his muscles as he turned towards Zytharia. "So what do you say now?"

"I..." Zytharia stared wide-eyed, completely stunned on the spot. Directly opening the gate without resistance was completely unheard of.

Just then, a loud bell rang behind Zarek.

Zarek’s ears twitched as he turned towards the sound. Looking inside, the entire place felt mystical, with a large court in the middle of it and surrounded by small palaces at the side.

It was like an ancient court palace with peace and quiet.

The bell rang three times, and there was a loud voice announcing:

"A new person with the authority of the Demi-god has been born."

At first, everything seemed to be in silence before murmurs began, drowning out the entire peaceful court.

"Someone has finally achieved it. It has been a decade already since bestowing the new Demi-god’s authority."

"But... but this man is just a Telekinetic Master... how was he able to do it?"

"Don’t you see his body? It’s filled with Divine Energy. How could a Telekinetic Master even have Divine Energy to begin with?"

The murmurs were filled with disbelief as Zarek felt countless gazes upon him, as if trying to pry him open for his secret with their gazes alone, Zarek felt a strange sense of discomfort that he couldn’t shake it away.

"Hmm?" Zarek frowned and turned to Zytharia.

"You don’t have to worry about this. They only seem excited because you are an anomaly. Since you have gained the authority of a Demi-god, then you stand on equal footing with them, and you will also enjoy an equal amount of resources."

"That’s interesting," he murmured. "So what are these resources that I will enjoy?"

"First, you will have the highest authority if you enter any Empire from now on. Even the emperor has to bow in front of you. You will also have the best blacksmith make weapons for you, and most especially, you will gain..." she paused, letting the anticipation of silence weigh in the place, "the knowledge of Divine Energy and how to advance into Demi-god and reach Godhood."

"That sounds interesting enough." Zarek nodded his head with a smile on his face. Then he looked at her and grew thoughtful for a moment.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Zytharia frowned.

"Don’t I already have the power of the Demi-god?"

Zarek said and released his World Will. In an instant, the pressure in the surroundings started to increase for Zytharia.

The world was suppressing her.

To this, Zytharia merely scoffed and hoisted her palm forward. The next moment, the pressure was immediately canceled, and now it was Zarek’s time to bear the pressure from the world.

The pressure from Zytharia was several hundred times stronger than Zarek’s, but even so, there wasn’t even a change in Zarek’s expression. "Although yours seems to be stronger than mine, you are still no match for me."

"Really?" Zytharia said with a sneer on her face.

She pointed her palm forward at Zarek.

Zarek frowned. His instinct flared without limits, and his life flashed before his eyes. His mind went into a trance, and his vision changed to a world where there were only woods everywhere, giant monsters in the form of wood roamed the place, roaring into the sky.

"Don’t show me that false Demi-god power and think that you are worthy." Zytharia’s figure faintly reflected in the sky, her cold pupils looking at him with a hint of complete indifference.

Zarek snapped out of the vision, fell to the ground, heavily breathing, with an expressionless face. "How...!?"

"This is the true power of a Demi-god. We hold supreme authority over an element of the world. For example, I hold authority over the wood element, and every wood in the world obeys my order. The power you have is only the early stage, and you still have a long way to go if you want to reach the level of a true Demi-god," Zytharia explained.

Zarek raised his head and looked at her with an expression of pure excitement on his face. "So how do I go about it?"

With his adapt skill, there was no doubt that he could quickly reach that level. Not to mention that he also had a divine image that countless people were praying to, this was being spread quickly by the Naga race.

There were no limits to the suffering people in this world. Although praying to the human god did sound optimal, they would gain nothing from it, while praying for him allowed miracles to be done, as Zarek always solved their desperate problems with some of the Divine Energy they had given.

This led to his Sacred Image of Germ becoming more popular in all of the human empires, spreading like wildfire even without the efforts of the Naga.

As a result, Zarek gained prayers passively by a lot, but converting them into Divine Energy was a very slow process, and it would take more time than ever if he wanted to accomplish it.

That’s why Zarek’s strength hasn’t increased by much, but it was slowly and steadily increasing. With his "Adapt" skill, it would increase even more.

At this rate, he would quickly become a true Demi-god, and now the path in front of him was even clearer with this house of Demi-god.

"Umm." For a moment, Zytharia almost went into a trance.

"What?" Zarek frowned.

"You can gain knowledge once you enter the court."

"Let’s go then. Buckle up."
