My SSS-Rank Clone Talent: I Level Up Endlessly!
Chapter 302: Fragment of the World’s Power!
CHAPTER 302: FRAGMENT OF THE WORLD’S POWER!
Grey watched as the old man raised his quill, preparing to write on his Grimoire one last time.
The presence of the Diamond Grimoire before him surged through the air, the sky thickening with clouds. Lightning gathered overhead, flashing violently, followed by thunderous booms that rattled the ground.
Each bolt of lightning struck the small Grimoire, and slowly, it began to rise into the sky. Arcs of electricity swirled around it, and a sharp crack appeared in one of its corners.
"Ahhh—"
The old man collapsed to his knees, eyes bloodshot, crying out in pain. Blood trickled steadily from his body, pooling beneath him on the ground.
There was seemingly no injury on his body, but that was completely different from the fact that so much of his blood had already dripped to the ground.
’I wonder how much pain he is feeling,’ Grey muttered in his heart while quietly observing the scene. This feeling was very similar to when he faced the trial.
’The world fragments and the Mythical Grimoires are definitely connected and might even match together.’
He was quietly measuring it.
The Mythical Grimoire and the World Fragment were interconnected, but they were not the same, that’s for sure.
Maybe because the Mythical Grimoire is a strong entity, it is interconnected with the world itself, and to tame it, you also gain the rule of that world.
This was only a theory for Grey, and there were many more theories that he had come up with regarding these Mythical Grimoires, and his question might soon be answered right in front of him.
"Kurogane," he quietly called out.
The Mythical Clone Grimoire directly appeared in front of him and asked with a gentle voice, "Yes, dear?" while showering him with affection.
"Do you think they can be successful?" Grey looked ahead.
"There is a twenty percent chance of them succeeding," she replied.
"What about you? What happened when you were advancing from Diamond to Mythical?" Grey asked quietly.
"Oh dear, I didn’t advance to the Mythical Rank. Right when I was born, I became a Mythical Grimoire," she answered with a cheer.
"Is that possible?"
"That’s right." Kurogane turned to Lilith, who was fuming with jealousy at the side. "Unlike this whore, I have never been tamed. I just wander around the world."
"I see." Grey sighed in his heart. The saying was true, some people spend their entire lives pursuing something, while others are simply born with it.
Kurogane was the prime example of this.
While Kurogane and Lilith fought, Grey observed the Diamond Grimoire attempting to reach the Mythical Rank.
There were also the prince and princess, who were praying dearly in their hearts that the old man would succeed and obtain a Mythical Grimoire; otherwise, their fate would be miserable, even if they didn’t die under Grey.
Little did they know that their fate might not even change, even if the old man succeeded.
"The old man is finally trying it," the king said, looking at the old man and his Grimoire from his icy cold throne in silence.
There was no taking it back. To ascend from Diamond to Mythical was a task, dare I say... Mythical.
"Sigh, old friend, I hope you can do it. You might be able to reach him who has left this world."
The old man’s flesh was melting, turning into gushes of blood; his screams echoed everywhere.
While the Diamond Grimoire was enduring the lightning from the skies, cracks appeared all over its body.
It seemed like the end for both of them.
Then, just as the heart of the old man was about to stop, a beam of light shot through the old man’s body, phased through the Grimoire hovering in the air, and soared into the sky.
Golden particles erupted from both of them and started to merge together.
The world was distorting around them, and reality felt broken. Then, in a flash, an invisible crystal began to materialize around the Grimoire; it was so faint that it was almost impossible to see without keen eyes.
"Is that the world’s law?" Grey narrowed his eyes. The feeling he had when he faced the trial of Kurogane was very similar to now.
Then he called out:
"Eve."
"Yes, dear." A flash of purple light emitted from his body, and a purple-haired woman appeared behind him. The moment she appeared, she hugged his body while purring with a hazy expression.
"What do you think?" he asked, ignoring her antics.
Eve looked at the Diamond Grimoire hovering and nodded her head as she casually explained, "The Grimoire is connecting to the world, and the world is evaluating if he meets all the requirements. If he does, then the Grimoire has to face a trial prepared by the world before finally gaining a part of the world’s strength."
"So you mean to say that a Mythical Grimoire contains a fragment of the world’s power?" Grey asked.
"That’s right," she purred. "In fact, there is a legend that there is a Grimoire even greater than a Mythical Grimoire."
"Hmm, if the Mythical Grimoire already contains a fragment of the world’s power, then..." Grey paused, his eyes widening in realization of what the hell was going on. His body instinctively shivered from the mere thought.
"That’s right," Eve sighed. "But it’s just the talk of us sisters, don’t take it too seriously; that would be too absurd, right?"
"Right," Grey said, but his face became expressionless. He was seriously contemplating it, even if it was the most absurd thing he had ever thought of.
Suddenly, a loud bang was heard in front of Grey, and reality distorted, forming a small gate right in front of the Grimoire.
"Is that the trial that the Diamond Grimoire and its master must face?" Grey asked her.
"That’s right," Eve replied casually, but she saw the grin on Grey’s face from the corner of her eyes. "You aren’t planning to enter that place, right?"
"What do you think?" Grey asked but his grin couldn’t be contained.
