My SSS-Rank Clone Talent: I Level Up Endlessly!
Chapter 308: Scammed!?
CHAPTER 308: SCAMMED!?
Ellen’s heart was gripped by terror. Those deep, swirling blue eyes of Grey’s only intensified her dread, making her heart race uncontrollably.
She... she was truly scared.
And yet, despite herself, a sudden urge coursed through her loins, one she could not resist.
"Stop," Grey said, his expression twisted with disgust. "What do you think you’re doing?"
"I..." Ellen’s lips trembled as she struggled to control herself, biting her cherry-red lips. Somehow, the fear gave her enough strength to hold on.
Even through the fear, her gaze met Grey’s, and her cheeks flamed with color.
It was a confusing mix of fear and love, contorting her expression into something both scrunched and awkward.
She was only able to pull herself together after taking a deep breath to calm down and adjust her breathing.
"I... I surrender." Ellen shuddered.
"Good." Grey spoke with a smile.
Ellen felt the pressure instantly vanish; her instinct stopped blaring in alarm. Her heart, however, drummed even more violently now not from fear though, but...
Grey looked at the trance-like state of her with a shake of his head and sighed.
"Turn into the world fragment."
"A... alright." Still recollecting herself, Ellen quickly followed his instruction and turned into a world fragment, hovering in the void.
Grey caught it and dropped his blood on it.
Swish!
He could immediately connect to the world fragment but was disappointed when he looked at his blue panel.
[You have gained the title World-level Tamer]
[Duplicate title detected... merging the two... 1%... 2%... 100%]
[Merging unsuccessful]
"Oh, well." Grey sighed in his heart.
Still, now that the title had devoured another title, if he got the same title again and again, Grey didn’t believe it wouldn’t evolve further.
Imagine this already broken title, which allowed a chance for him to tame the world and become an even higher title.
The benefit of it was not something he could even imagine. That’s probably why, even after the two same titles had merged, it had not evolved yet.
"I wonder what it would be." Grey rubbed his hands together in excitement, unable to wait any longer. But a faint trace of confusion flickered across his face.
Before they could act, the space folded in on itself, and in the blink of an eye, they were back in the outside world.
"This..." Grey looked around in stunned disbelief. "What’s going on?" A displeased frown marred his face. He had planned to make the protector cough up even more, but it seemed his plan had been completely disrupted.
He glanced at Eve from the corner of his eye. ’Didn’t she say the gate would lead us directly to the protector?’
But instead, it led them to one of the world fragments. He wasn’t complaining about getting an extra world fragment; he was complaining that he could have gotten potentially more.
Eve seemed to have noticed Grey’s gaze, and her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "Technically, the gate should have led directly to the main room. Maybe there was some disruption."
"I can tell that much," Grey mumbled with a roll of his pupils. Then he looked at his new fragment. "Come out, Ellen."
"Yes, master." Ellen came out obediently, looking at him with an expression that fully invoked pity.
"Do you know how you got there?" he asked. Completely ignoring it, he had already faced the same thing countless times with his Grimoire, so he had learned to be completely immune to it.
"I... I..." she trembled uncontrollably.
Grey sighed and warmly patted her head. "It’s fine to relax; you don’t have to be scared. Just try to remember everything."
Ellen gulped and mustered her courage.
She looked at him and nodded with a grateful expression. "The only thing I remembered was that I felt a spatial rift, and the next moment my coordinates seemed to have changed, but it was so subtle at the time that I could barely notice anything."
"Hmm, I see." Grey nodded his head, thoughtful for a moment.
This was definitely the protector’s scheme; she might have manipulated it.
"You said that the protector has to operate under rules, right?" Grey looked at her and asked.
"Yeah." Eve replied without hesitation.
"Then there was probably a rule that stated the protector could kick us out if we were to gain a world fragment."
Eve casually shrugged. "The rules are very strange, and even I don’t know many."
"Useless."
"Hey, don’t say that." She pouted cutely and leaned into his arms again.
Meanwhile, Ellen stood awkwardly, unsure of what to do.
Boom!
A terrifying presence suddenly surged through the area.
Grey’s gaze followed it to the source: the Diamond Grimoire. It now radiated the presence of a Mythical Grimoire, shining with a brilliant light for a fleeting moment.
"Finally, it has reached the Mythical Rank," he said with a sigh.
The Inspect Mythical Grimoire rotated around the old man before finally settling in his hands.
The old man was weary and exhausted; his vision blurred, his steps unsteady, and he could barely hold himself upright.
But, despite it all, undeniable joy lit his face. He rubbed the cover of the Grimoire with trembling hands and sighed deeply, ’We finally did it,’ Tears welled in his eyes, and he fell to his knees, overcome by the weight of the moment.
The venue became silent.
Even the bratty prince and the princess didn’t dare to speak at the moment, the old man’s emotion, Grey’s achievement of completing a trial that should only be possible by the initiator.
This was a heaven-defying achievement. If the news spread, it would cause an uproar throughout this land.
Most of the people here couldn’t even comprehend the sheer scale of this achievement.
However, the king, who was sitting on his icy throne, knew the terrifying nature of the achievement.
Maybe there would be droves of people wanting to advance their Diamond Grimoire to Mythical Grimoire, all come flocking to Grey.
It was extraordinarily hard to tame a Mythical Grimoire. Even if a kingdom had one, making it agree to help them was impossible, not to mention taming it. It was equally hard to advance it, but with the help of Grey...
"I need to keep him here," the king muttered bitterly.
