My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World
Chapter 65: It’s Hammer Time
CHAPTER 65: IT’S HAMMER TIME
The Crimson Rabbit couldn’t control its body properly and was pushed towards the Boundary. In no time, it collided with the towering wall, and a terrible screech filled the meadows.
It even sent chills down Leon’s spine, and he was the one who had done the experiment. He backed away with a pained look on his face.
’Tsk! I knew I shouldn’t give in to my curiosity. This would be the worst death till now. And the Boundary is special, so who knows if I’ll wake up in the real world or not. Maybe I’ll die for real this time.’
He shook his head and gave one last glance at the Crimson Rabbit, which was still screaming in pain. Although he did want the Energy Orb from it, since it was easily the strongest Crimson Rabbit he had faced, he knew it wouldn’t form any time soon.
The Boundary subjected whoever dared to come in contact with it to such terrible pain while making sure they wouldn’t die.
It was a mechanism Leon had made while he was drunk, because it really served no other purpose than to punish players for no reason at all.
He shook his head in disappointment and began to walk alongside the Boundary while making sure no monster could sneak attack him and push him towards it.
After running around and fighting for so long, he could feel the fatigue building up inside him. He wanted to be in peak condition before fighting the Mosspounder, so he chose to walk.
He walked and walked and just continued to walk until he found the Boundary towering over him right in front of him. His face turned ugly as he realised where he was standing.
"Fuck! So if I had just run in the opposite direction, I would be in Sector Two by now. My luck really isn’t good this time," he sighed.
Before him, the two sides of the Boundary formed a corner, which was also the corner of this floor. He was standing at the farthest point of the floor.
’I have to walk even more now.’ He groaned in frustration and began to run this time.
This time, he switched between running and walking to cover the distance, and after an arduous journey, he finally saw Sector Two in the distance.
’Finally!!’
Sector Two was similar to Sector One since most floors followed the same biomes, but there were certain changes every time. This time, Sector Two had gotten an update from Sector One.
While Sector One was known as the Meadows of Salar, Sector Two was known as the Blackwood Forest.
Before Leon stood a vast green forest of Blackwood trees that reached very high into the sky. Even the smallest Blackwood Tree was over fifty metres tall, and the tallest easily crossed over three hundred.
This was a forest of giants.
’And this is small compared to the True Tallest Forests of the Primordial Expanse.’
Leon slowed down his pace while going on full alert. He was entering an area where even the weakest monster was equal to him, so he had to be cautious.
Just as the grassland ended and he stepped into the vegetation of the Blackwood Forest, he got another notification.
[Host has entered the Sector Two of First Floor, the Blackwood Forest.]
[Would you like to set it as the Spawn Point?]
’So, I can set it too.’ Leon thought before rejecting the system’s question.
Unless he found a true way to exit this Dungeon without dying, he wasn’t setting this death field as his spawn point. He already had enough spawn deaths in the meadows.
He wasn’t going to repeat them until he got strong enough to fight the monsters of this area.
He would rather spend his time travelling every time than spawn amidst Tier 2 Monsters in their home.
’One more function unlocked.’
Leon cautiously began to walk into the forest, which was fortunately not too dense, so there was still enough space to move around and even fight.
He made sure there was some distance between him and the trees because the trees here weren’t simple. Apart from the Mosspounders, there were two other types of monsters found in this sector.
One of them included a monster tree that could camouflage itself easily in the forest and hunt players. The only good thing about it was that it was fixed on the ground, but the monster made up for this flaw by having powerful skills.
They were also very annoying because you wouldn’t even recognise them until they launched a sneak attack while you rested against them or hid behind them.
Leon had gotten a lot of curses from players for making such annoying monsters right from the start.
This was the reason he was keeping distance from the trees even though it put him in an open position where all monsters could easily spot him.
But at least he could react if any Demonic Tree attacked him.
Just as he was moving deeper into the forest, his instincts began tingling, alerting him of danger. Trusting them with all his heart, he kicked his feet against the ground and jumped with all his strength.
The ground behind him shattered with a boom as he rolled once before jumping to his feet and taking a battle stance. He also summoned back the big War Hammer and grinned widely.
"You’re finally here!"
The Mosspounder stood before him, its jade-like eyes staring deeply at him and its huge hands slowly rising from the cracked ground.
The stocky, gorilla-like creature had fists made of hardened soil and stone, moss and fungus covering its back, and glowing green eyes...
Leon genuinely hated this bastard more than anything else. It was then that he got one more notification.
[Mosspounder, Level 19 (Tier 2)]
’Alright. I’m dead!’
There was no way he was winning against this heavy-hitting machine at Level 19. The gap between them was simply ridiculous, and it couldn’t be covered just by tactics.
But was he going to run away?
Never!!
He might have run if he was facing any other monster, but not this bastard. Even if he was dying, he wanted to at least damage it.
’No wonder I died so many times so easily. This guy is a top bastard even here. Also, is my luck really so bad to meet it right at the start of Sector Two?’
Just then, he felt something growing beneath him, so he instantly kicked off from it and launched himself into the air. As he landed on a tree, he stared at the monster with his mind running through all kinds of simulations to damage it.
But the Mosspounder wasn’t giving him any time to think, as it moved towards the tree he was standing on and smashed it into smithereens in just one punch.
Spores began to leak out of its back as the wind carried them towards Leon, who was already jumping towards another tree.
Knowing what these deadly and poisonous spores could do, Leon activated his Iron Skin and curled up to increase his speed. A few of the spores caressed his legs, but they were deflected by his metal skin.
He landed on another tree and muttered, "Alright, this will do."
A smile formed on his lips as he said, "It’s Hammer Time!"
