My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World
Chapter 75: An Unexpected Attack
CHAPTER 75: AN UNEXPECTED ATTACK
Alena was a professional and she knew what her one word could cause, so she was very thorough with her examination. Even after the potion was digested and she observed its effects, she waited patiently.
Her senses were examining every part of her body and even her Soul. She wanted to be very sure of her judgment because if she was wrong, then countless people would suffer.
After a few minutes of silence, she opened her eyes and spoke with her lips curled up slightly, "It works brilliantly."
Leon exhaled the pent-up breath and smiled at Amber, who was giving him a proud look, but it only made her seem like a cute little fox.
"Incredible! Leon, what you have created will save countless lives. You might even get a medal from the Government for such an achievement."
"Haha! I’m more curious what those old fossils will do once they find out that a young man achieved what they’ve been trying to do for so much time." Akash laughed loudly.
"Aren’t you one of them?" Amber gave him a side glance and said.
"That’s different. I helped him in his research, so I feel like I accomplished something and contributed to it." Akash was way too happy to bother with this woman.
Meanwhile, Wei Xiao took out a metal card and gave it to Leon, "What you have achieved today is amazing and I would be happy to exchange some pointers. Although I’m not as intelligent as you, I have experience and knowledge that might be useful to you, so you are free to visit me whenever you want or call if you have any doubts."
Leon hesitated for a bit before taking it. It was indeed true that he lacked a lot of information and as a curious person, he wanted to know everything.
The Wei Clan was an ancient clan and had information that would be hard to get normally. So even if it was his paternal Family that he didn’t want to engage with, he didn’t decline the offer.
"As compensation, if you want, you can use our channels to introduce your potion in the market," Wei Xue said, and before Amber could say anything, she added, "It’s free. We won’t take any commission. It’s a compensation, not a trade."
"Hmm, I accept!" Leon knew it was the best for their current situation.
Even though Amber had a lot of connections, Leon knew it would take her some time before Clearwill Potion became popular in the market and began to sell more even with its uniqueness.
"Hey! I can handle it all," Amber seemed to have taken it as an insult to her competency.
"I know you can, but we should use everything we can have," Leon said. "Besides, you’ll be busy too and it’s better to trust someone like the Wei Clan."
"You do remember what happened a few minutes ago?"
"It still doesn’t change the fact that the Wei Clan has been serving humanity for a long time. We can trust them," Leon said, which convinced Amber a little.
"Why don’t you try it too?" Alena said, as she handed the vial to the other two.
"We are men!" both replied at the same time. "Its effects on us will be negligible, so don’t waste it."
She shrugged in response.
"Perfect!" Minji finally decided to step in. "We will run a few more important tests and you will receive the permit in just one..."
She suddenly froze, sensing a deadly glare, and hurriedly changed her words, "...in one day. You will get the permit tomorrow."
Amber finally nodded in satisfaction.
"It seems like my trip here was worth it," Wei Xue said, as she looked at Leon. "I got to meet you. But don’t mind my rudeness, I still want to check your body for something. Can I do that?"
"He’s only interested in young women," Amber stepped before Leon, blocking Wei Xue from seeing him. "He’s not interested in old fossils like you."
While Leon snickered behind her, Wei Xue had an urge to fight Amber on the spot. She suppressed her anger and said, "Fine, I won’t touch him. Just a small examination with mana."
"He’s allergic to mana of fossils!" Amber held her ground.
Leon couldn’t control his laughter anymore and even others had a faint smile on their lips. Only Wei Xue was feeling like smashing her head against the wall.
"Senior, I’m sorry but I don’t like people probing me, especially someone as esteemed as you," Leon said respectfully, unlike Amber. "I hope you understand."
Wei Xue instantly smiled and said, "You’re such a good lad. I feel bad for even suggesting something like that."
Amber rolled her eyes at her and ignored her. Only then she noticed the other options in the box aside from the Clearwill Potion and raised an eyebrow.
She actually didn’t recognize them.
’Did he make more?’ she thought before asking. "What are those potions?"
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about it. I need your help with it," Leon said before he picked a light green-colored liquid. "It’s a mutated version of a healing potion. Why don’t you try it and tell me its effects on an Ascended?"
"I think you have some misunderstanding here," Amber said before she raised her hand, making sharp claws appear on her fingers.
Others noticed it and could only admire her control over corruption. Nobody dared to use their Corrupted part like this. Only a mad person like her would do it.
She then slashed it across her forearm, making three long scratches as crimson blood with gold star-like fragments came into everyone’s view. Before it could even get out of her body, her wounds were healed.
Instantly.
"Normal Healing medicines don’t work on Ascended because of our ridiculous Regeneration rate. If something is able to affect that Regeneration Speed, then we need A-Rank Healing pills."
She glanced at Wei Xiao and said, "That’s where people like him are helpful. Only rare treasures or higher rank Alchemists can save a bleeding Ascended."
Leon paused and then nodded in understanding, "I see. Then I guess I gotta work on that. If I’m not wrong, then whatever that substance is that can affect your Regeneration rate probably attacks the pathways. And I don’t have anything that can interact with it."
’He guessed it so quickly!?’ Wei Xiao’s eyes sparkled in interest. ’Aghh! If only he didn’t have Grade 8 Talent, then I could have persuaded him to be my disciple.’
"Just give them to me. I’m a living tester anyways," Alena said.
Leon nodded and gave her the potions.
One by one, she tried them all, and for a moment, Leon even got concerned about her health and asked if she could handle so many potions at once.
But all she replied with was that she was already used to it. Apparently, she held the record of consuming two hundred fifty-nine potions in a single day...
’Crazy woman!!’
All of them thought at the same time. Including Amber.
Once she tested everything, she gave a soft intoxicated smile to Leon and said, "Every one of them works way better than normal potions. At least 20% better."
"Noice! Now we have more things to sell." Leon was very happy and could even see money rolling in.
It was then he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked at Alena whose eyes were unfocused as she smiled and asked, "Handsome brother, wanna test baby-making with me? I’m a perfect tester."
Nothing could have prepared Leon for this attack.
