CHAPTER 79: YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT

Leon understood everything Amber said, and he had already arrived at that conclusion from all the clues. He could see it clearly too.

But he just couldn’t drop his anger. He wanted to go and rip whoever did this into pieces. Silver and Evelyn meant everything to him, and now one of them was practically going through hell because of those people.

How could he not be angry?

But when he looked into Amber’s eyes, he saw nothing but cold fury that seemed to freeze anything and everything. He knew she was as angry as him, if not more, but she was still suppressing it to give him the right advice.

She didn’t want him to choose the wrong path just because of the circumstances. He could see that clearly in her eyes.

His heart shook upon realizing that. The concern and care in her voice were clear to him, which surprised him greatly. Only then did he remember something his mother had told him.

He wasn’t alone in this world, and his actions had effects on those who cared about him. If he was hurt, they would be hurt too, seeing him in that state.

That’s what relationships did to a person.

Now, he didn’t just have Evelyn and Silver in that category but also Amber. Without him even realizing it, she had become an important part of his life in just a few days. The same went for Amber, who still hadn’t realized how much she was worrying about him.

Even if she did realize, she wouldn’t care, because this was who Amber Frost was.

Leon felt his anger slowly dissipating as he smiled and teased her, "Oh my, is the mighty Amber Frost caring about my well-being? I’m flattered."

"Are you stupid?" Amber said in a serious voice. "If I didn’t care about you, would you be sitting here beside me? Would I be giving you these prep talks when I could go and blast the whole Academy to find the culprit?"

She held the back of his neck and declared, "You’re one of my people now, and that means no harm can come to you. Understand?"

Leon was stumped for words. He didn’t think she would be this straightforward with her feelings. But then again, when had she not? If she wanted something, she would get it, and if she felt something, she would lay it out openly.

He sighed, "Sometimes you scare me, Amber. But it’s good that you’re straightforward. It saves a lot of trouble for me."

"Huh?" Amber was confused, but Leon didn’t explain it.

It wasn’t the right time for it.

"Anyways, if you let anger cloud your judgment, then you will only hurt Silver even more, and Evelyn too. She’s a strong woman, but not when it comes to you and Silver. You have to be strong and rational for them," Amber said.

"I understand. You don’t have to repeat it so much," Leon said, but there was a small smile playing on his lips.

"You still have to listen to me," Amber didn’t back down and said. "Aside from that, there’s also the fact that you are different than a woman."

"The hell are you saying?" Leon’s lips twitched at her words. "I’m very much a man, and I can even show it to you."

"I would definitely like to see it, but not today," Amber smirked, glancing at his lower body. "What I meant was that your mental health is very important in your progress, similar to a woman’s. And I know you understand it too."

Leon nodded at her words.

"So, if you think keeping your anger caged in is gonna help you, then you couldn’t be more wrong. It’ll just eat you from the inside out after all the pain you go through because of your secret," Amber said. "So, throw it away and focus on getting stronger. Only then can you take the revenge."

Leon knew she was right in everything, so he didn’t argue. He just snorted and said, "Funny coming from someone like you."

"I’m an exception," Amber grinned widely. "I dance with insanity all the time. It has become a close companion of mine long ago. That’s why people say I’m always insane."

"They’re wrong then," Leon shrugged.

Amber paused for a moment before laughing loudly, "You’re really amusing."

She calmed down and said, "I have some things to do with this information, so you can go back alone. I’ll come back at night."

Thinking about something, she added, "I’ll increase the security around Evelyn and also bring someone intelligent who can see through schemes. She needs it more than ever."

"Nobody attacked today?" Leon asked.

He had already guessed that the information about Clearwill Potion would reach the wrong hands once the Government knew of it, so he had asked Amber to give Evelyn security.

People always liked to play underhanded tactics, so he knew they could target his mother. Even though she was also strong, Evelyn hadn’t been able to level for a long time due to her injury, so Leon really wanted to give her the best protection.

"There was one," Amber said with a chuckle. "But it seems they were just probing since they only sent some weakling from the Assassin Guild. I’ll see if I can get any information, but I don’t have high hopes."

Seeing his worried face, she asked, "Do you trust me?"

"I do!" Leon replied in an instant. If he didn’t trust her, then there really was no one he could trust.

"Then just trust in my capabilities too. I’ll keep her safe," Amber declared. "She’s the Angel I would protect with my life."

"Angel... it does suit her," Leon agreed immediately upon his mother being praised.

"Right?" Amber chuckled before patting his head and releasing the barrier. "Now go home and rest. You don’t need to worry about anything but getting stronger. Though, keep an eye on everything because you’re more perceptive than me and might find things I can’t."

"I will," Leon said with a smile. "And thanks for everything."

"Mention not!"

With that, she got out of the hovering car and waved goodbye to Leon. Once the car was out of sight, she lost her smile and stepped into the void.

In the next moment, she appeared above a remote island far from human civilization and stared at it with a cold look in her eyes.

Her body was trembling, making the surroundings distort around her. Winds picked up as the sea around the island began to bubble up, and high waves rose as if calamity itself was approaching.

Clouds churned around her as the sun hid behind them as if it was afraid of her fury. Just her presence was changing the atmosphere, making the aquatic creatures in the sea fear for their life.

An octopus head twice the size of a hot air balloon came out of the surging water, and its eyes gazed high above at the being who disturbed its rest.

But the moment their eyes met, the octopus shrank back into the sea but still kept looking at her.

Amber just gave a fleeting look to the octopus and said in a chilling voice, "Scram!"

The octopus acknowledged her words as a divine decree and fled away from the island. Following it were many other creatures of the sea.

Amber gazed at the island deeply, then raised both of her hands above her. She needed to vent out her emotions, and this island would serve as the target.
