CHAPTER 157: CHAPTER 157: DON’T BE SO SHAMELESS

But he still let go.

Melody Thorne jumped down and said seriously, "I like the respect you give me. I’m going upstairs now. Goodbye."

"Thump, thump, thump," she ran off.

Jared Quinn: "......"

A storm swept across the man’s face, growing more intense. Damn it, he wanted to question her about who helped her, but he didn’t get to the point.

The butler noticed his young master’s increasingly gloomy expression and couldn’t help but remind him, "Should we continue having people protect the young lady?"

Given the former relationship between the Thorne and Quinn families, they absolutely could not leave Melody Thorne unprotected; her safety still had to be ensured.

Seeing that the man didn’t respond, the butler continued, "No one knows about your marriage to the young lady now, and she is so resistant to you. Maybe let her face some hardships outside. After all, she’s a girl, inexperienced with the world. Once she encounters some setbacks, maybe she’ll come back."

Jared Quinn lit a cigarette and sneered. That woman would just return after facing setbacks?

"Come here."

The butler leaned in, and Jared Quinn whispered a few instructions.

"Yes," the butler’s expression was a bit complicated. This approach—wouldn’t it only make the lady more resentful?

Upstairs.

Melody Thorne turned on her computer and intently looked at the screen filled with photos of handsome young men with high body and face value. As the mouse scrolled down, they all looked pleasing, but none particularly stood out.

Finally, she chose two people: one who was good in many ways, and another who was often slandered with rumors of drug use, keeping fans, drunken brawls, and essentially blackened to the point of not being able to mix in the entertainment industry. No agency would sign him.

Such a person is controversial, with high exposure, and now, his market value is certainly low...

She decided on him, closed her computer, and checked the time. Timmy’s aristocratic class should be ending soon.

In the downstairs kitchen, she took chicken wings and a coke out of the fridge. Twenty minutes later, she placed them on a plate intending to take them to Timmy’s room on the second floor.

Suddenly, a pair of chopsticks reached over from behind her, her back pressed against a solid chest, and a chicken wing disappeared from the plate.

"Don’t move," Melody Thorne hastily protected the food, but it was too late—the chicken wing was already in a certain man’s mouth.

Two seconds later, the bone went into the trash can.

Melody Thorne took a deep breath, not planning to argue with him, and picked up the chicken wings to leave, but that solid chest blocked her path again, and the platinum-inlaid chopsticks reached over once more, taking another wing.

"Ah, Jared Quinn!" Melody Thorne wanted nothing more than to strangle the hateful man in front of her. "If you want to eat, make it yourself!"

With so many servants, why was he taking hers?

"I can’t," he responded nonchalantly.

"There’s a butler, there’s your rich mom. Don’t be so childish!"

"Are you silly? If you want me to fall in love with you, you need to win over my stomach first," Jared Quinn arrogantly and narcissistically replied. "I’m giving you a chance now, to break away from the emptiness and loneliness. Maybe if you try hard, I’ll be yours. Winning Timmy’s stomach won’t help."

Damn it, Melody Thorne wanted to grab a knife.

Seeing the chopsticks coming over again—she’d made six, and now three were already gone as soon as they were ready—she quickly turned around, leaned on the counter, and dumped an entire box of salt on them.

Jared Quinn: "..."

He was holding her from behind, leaving Melody Thorne both angry and embarrassed. Anyone who didn’t know might think they were up to something in there!
