CHAPTER 89: CHAPTER 89: WHAT DID SHE SEE?

Melody Thorne was suddenly startled when her ankle was locked. Just as she was about to scream, there was a ripping sound from her back, and her clothes were torn open.

"I’m telling you, you’d better not scream, or we can’t guarantee you won’t end up exposed here,"

Stacy Lane threatened as she and the other four half-dragged her off the stage,

"Melody Thorne, you should know whose spotlight you stole today, right?"

Once her hands and feet were freed, Melody immediately tried to stand up, but Stacy directly doused her with a basin of cold water. She didn’t have time to dodge, and the cold made her shiver fiercely.

"Strip off her clothes and take them away. Later, pull the curtain open and let everyone see how shameless that ugly creature really is," Stacy threw away the basin and reached towards Melody.

"Alright."

Melody looked up, avoiding Stacy’s hand, her eyes chilling, "Stacy Lane, I remember you bought your scores to get into Aethelburg Academy. I wonder what Director Irving and Penny Lane would think if I accidentally let it slip when I’m in disgrace?"

"Oh, I seem to recall Penny Lane treating you as an exemplary student, a good student at Aethelburg Academy. I wonder how she would react when she hears about this?"

"Melody Thorne, you’re talking nonsense, I’ll tear your mouth apart!" Stacy’s face changed in an instant.

The least tolerable thing at Aethelburg Academy is buying scores or cheating.

Melody retreated a step, letting out a cold laugh, "Not only do I know, but Kiki Sutton knows too. If anything happens to me, she’ll be the first to spread the word."

"Melody Thorne!"

"Alright, that’s enough drama. I know Ivy put you up to this, so don’t worry. Since we’re both just complementing her, if you let me go, naturally, I’ll let you go as well," Melody tugged on her soaked costume, cold wind seeping through her torn back.

She disdained to waste time with them.

"Stacy, but..." The other three girls looked at Stacy, "If we don’t do anything to her, how do we explain to Ivy?"

"Are you stupid?" Stacy exclaimed irritably, "Just say we stripped her clothes, and she ran away naked by herself."

The girls left, and Melody frowned at her drenched clothes, her back almost completely exposed. She had no way to return to the changing room up front.

As she was thinking about how to get there, a piece of clothing was dropped over her shoulders, not brand new or expensive.

Melody turned around, seeing the enduringly cruel youth behind her, his gaze sweeping over her without saying a word, then turning to leave.

"Thank you," Melody called to his retreating figure. Just as she turned to leave, she suddenly met a pair of profound and extremely subtle, dark phoenix eyes.

"!!!".

What had he just seen? Had he seen Caleb?

Jared Quinn watched from a distance as Melody Thorne’s face turned pale after being doused with cold water, including the constantly changing expressions he had clear view of.

The excessively cold, stern, and incredibly handsome face grew even colder, striding towards her, unbuttoning his expensive suit jacket.

Just as Melody was figuring out how to explain to him why Caleb had shown up earlier, Jared Quinn already stood before her, discarding the clothing on her shoulders. His large hand slid over her waist, pressing against the exposed skin of her back, pulling her toward him as the suit imbued with male warmth and scent settled on her.
