CHAPTER 91: CHAPTER 91: ARE YOU JEALOUS?

A stretch of pure white met her eyes...

The warning words in her mouth immediately stopped.

Melody Thorne’s eyes widened, her body stiffening in place, with nothing but the clothes she held in her hands to cover in front of her.

It took her three seconds to react. She covered herself with her hands and shouted, "Turn around!"

Jared Quinn’s gaze slid from her astonished little face down to her neck and collarbone, watching her protective movements. He sneered coldly and said indifferently, "Why should I?"

She was his wife, Jared Quinn’s wife. It had already been the limit that he hadn’t touched her these days, wasn’t it natural to look?

Why should he? Melody Thorne swallowed instantly, her face flushing red. A second or two later, Jared Quinn showed no sign of withdrawing his gaze, and she didn’t move.

Suddenly, his gaze fell on her shoulder, and he lightly touched it with his large hand. There was a faint scar there, barely noticeable without close inspection.

"What are you doing?" Melody Thorne pushed his hand away, covering the scar, looking at him warily.

"How did you get this?"

How did she get it? Melody Thorne’s heart ached for a moment; the scar was left from the past and because of the man in front of her.

Back then, she had sneaked into his swimming pool, and seeing him drowning for some unknown reason, she jumped in, pulling him ashore. Her shoulder got injured hitting something on the pool wall.

Then Ivy came and said Jared hated the sight of blood. She’d take care of it and told her to quickly go change clothes, so she left.

By the time she returned, they were already gone.

Later, Ivy told her that Jared didn’t like girls with scars, so she bought a scar-removing ointment and used it for a long time.

Eventually, it was nearly invisible.

Only after seeing Ivy’s scar on her shoulder did she realize what had happened.

"Ahhh," Melody Thorne shivered from the cold.

Seeing her shivering, Jared Quinn finally withdrew his gaze from her shoulder, turned on the car heater, and in a low voice continued the warning he hadn’t finished, "He hides too deeply."

Melody Thorne changed her clothes quickly after he turned away. She knew the "he" referred to Caleb, but there was nothing between her and Caleb but a collaboration; after the collaboration, they’d have nothing to do with each other. What was there to fear?

"Didn’t you hear me?" Jared Quinn turned his head again, his deep tone carrying a threat.

Melody Thorne had already put on her clothes. "What if I tell you to stay away from Ivy?"

"Are you jealous?"

"No," Melody Thorne denied. "As you just saw, she had those women pour cold water on me and humiliate me, so are you going to stand with her?"

After asking, the air went silent for a few seconds. She touched the car door handle, opening it. "I’ll go return the costume."

The car door closed, and although she had never had any hopes, something still shattered in her heart...

Jared Quinn turned his head, a trace of inscrutable expression flashing across his excessively stern face as he watched the stubborn little woman leave.

When had he ever been close to Ivy?

The curtain had fallen in the theater; everyone was packing up.

"Melody, did you really hire a private tutor?" A few people surrounded Melody Thorne.

"Which famous mentor did you hire? Introduce them to us too."

Melody Thorne wouldn’t say that she understood that feeling because she had died once. She saw Director Irving and Penny Lane also looking at her.
