CHAPTER 512: CHAPTER 510: A DIFFICULT CHOICE

"Baby, trust me, okay?"

Jinghen might have lowered his voice intentionally, as his word "baby" tingled Wen Qiao’s half body into numbness.

Wen Qiao glanced at the familiar scenery outside the car window and replied: I’m starting work now.

p

She listened to that voice message again and shook her head with a sigh.

Exiting the chat box, she saw the chat frames of Fu Jinghen and Huo Mutian side by side on the main interface, and Wen Qiao blinked.

Ah.

It was somewhat difficult to decide at the moment.

-

After wrapping up for the evening, Wen Qiao changed her clothes and received a message from Huo Mutian.

He said he had already arrived at the entrance of the filming location.

Wen Qiao checked the time, it was the exact time they had agreed upon, not a minute more or less, just right.

Wen Qiao didn’t take Qiao’s lead and make him purposely wait for her; she replied with a simple "okay" and, with her bag in hand, walked out of the makeup room.

Underneath the big tree at the entrance of the location, a flashy silver-white Bugatti was parked; seeing her come out, it flashed its headlights twice.

Wen Qiao looked at the big tree.

Why did everyone who came to pick her up like to park their car under this tree?

Was this her "peach blossom" tree?

As she pondered, the door of the Bugatti was pushed open, and a man got out of the car.

Both dressed in white shirts and black trousers, unlike Fu Jinghen’s stern formality, Huo Mutian wore his outfit with a sense of wanton frivolity.

One corner of his shirt was casually tucked into the trousers, the top buttons of the collar undone, and two white tie-like strips were left loose and fluttering in the wind.

Wen Qiao walked over and stopped in front of Huo Mutian.

"I thought I’d have to wait for Miss Wen a little longer," said Huo Mutian.

He meant that the women he dated, to demonstrate their modesty, often purposefully delayed to make a fashionably late entrance.

"Those common little tricks, Mr. Huo must have seen plenty, so there wouldn’t be anything interesting if I used them," Wen Qiao shrugged. "And stop calling me Miss Wen, just Wen Qiao is good, ’Miss’ sounds a bit unfriendly."

Huo Mutian was taken aback for a moment but then laughed, "Okay."

The name "Wen Qiao" rolled off his tongue as he called it out.

Wen Qiao nodded and extended her hand, "Huo Mutian."

Huo Mutian lightly grasped her hand; they touched and then parted.

Having called each other by their names, the pretentious formalities faded away significantly.

Huo Mutian walked around to the passenger side and opened the door for Wen Qiao, "Please."

Wen Qiao slid in sideways, pulled over the seatbelt and fastened it, then the other door opened, and Huo Mutian got in.

"What would you like to eat?" he asked.

Wen Qiao countered, "Didn’t you say you were going to make amends?"

That meant she was handing the initiative to Huo Mutian; tonight, she would be someone who was merely arranged.

Huo Mutian sincerely inquired, "Do you have any dietary restrictions? Don’t you celebrities need to maintain your figure?"

"No need," Wen Qiao shook her head, "I have a good figure, and I don’t gain weight easily."

Huo Mutian glanced at her, his gaze was direct but not offensive as if he were admiring a piece of artwork.

When at the filming location, Wen Qiao dressed however casually she wanted, not bothering to dress up deliberately even for dining with Huo Mutian.

Simple black shorts and a tight white tee kept her fresh and cool, but also perfectly showcased her long, slender legs.
