CHAPTER 73: CHAPTER 69: THE FURIOUS CHU TIAN

Chu Tian stared at the fresh blood on the ground and the person lying there motionless; his mind went blank, and he stood there, dumbfounded.

Even the movements of the people around him seemed to slow down.

He had never encountered such a scene before; he had only heard about it or seen it on the news.

Each time, a lingering fear would grip him, yet he’d also feel fortunate that it hadn’t happened to him.

But when that person, someone so familiar he almost took her for granted, suddenly and abruptly collapsed on the ground, a sense of disbelief welled up from deep within him. He hoped it was all fake, just his own hallucination.

"Has anyone called emergency services?"

"Has the director arrived yet?"

"Does anyone know the phone number of Teacher Xu’s agent and assistant?"

"First, let’s move Teacher Xu out of here!"

"..."

Listening to the clamor around him, Chu Tian finally snapped back to reality. It felt like a long time, but in truth, only a second or two had passed.

"Make way!"

"Let me through!"

He frantically pushed aside the people squatting in front of him. Just as he reached Xu Qingqiu’s side, he saw someone about to lift her. Chu Tian immediately panicked!

"Don’t move! No one is allowed to touch her!"

With his wits about him, Chu Tian instantly knew that someone who had suffered such a fall should never be moved arbitrarily, to avoid causing secondary injuries.

"Who are you? She’s bleeding! She needs to be bandaged immediately!"

"Don’t panic, be careful of secondary injuries!"

Chu Tian first looked up at the height from which she had fallen, but unfortunately, the lifting platform had already dropped to the bottom. He wasn’t sure if it had been retracted or if it simply had no cushioning and just fell all the way.

Since he hadn’t been present at the time of the fall, he couldn’t determine exactly what went wrong. However, judging by Xu Qingqiu’s position, it was likely she had fallen with the back of her head hitting the ground.

He heard the warnings from those around him. He was anxious, but he knew he couldn’t act rashly.

"I’m her assistant. Who has a first-aid kit? Preferably with bandages, antiseptic, and things like that."

Now wasn’t the time to delve into how she fell; saving her was the priority!

Chu Tian knelt and carefully lifted Xu Qingqiu’s lower leg, only to see a gash about twenty centimeters long bleeding continuously.

He frowned. This was trouble. The wound looked deep and needed immediate dressing to stop the bleeding.

But after he asked, no one around him could answer.

Turning, he found everyone exchanging puzzled glances.

"What are you all looking at? Don’t you have a first-aid kit? Doesn’t your production team have any emergency preparations at all? What about the emergency plan?"

Looking at the bewildered and helpless staff, Chu Tian felt a fury burning inside him with no outlet.

"Spread out! Keep the air circulating. What’s the use of crowding around here?"

He spoke impatiently, then remembered Xu Qingqiu’s head was still bleeding. He quickly checked and found only a small laceration on the back of her head. It didn’t look too serious, but her current unconsciousness made him most fearful of intracranial bruising.

He wasn’t a doctor. Beyond determining that Xu Qingqiu’s life wasn’t in immediate danger, he found himself helpless, unsure what else he could do.

"How long until the ambulance arrives?"

This time, someone finally spoke. From behind the crowd, a staff member holding a phone raised their hand and said, "Probably another fifteen minutes or so!"

Fifteen minutes? He had never felt fifteen minutes pass so slowly.

"Chu Tian! ... Sister Qiu?! ... What happened to Sister Qiu?"

The late-arriving Yiyi entered and immediately saw a group of people gathered. Peering through the crowd, she saw Chu Tian squatting beside the prone Xu Qingqiu. Yiyi completely panicked, her body went limp, and she collapsed to the ground, her lips trembling.

"It’s okay, Yiyi, don’t be scared. Go call Sister Hua, then pack your things and get ready to go to the hospital. Understand?"

Seeing her state, Chu Tian forced himself to remain calm, his mind racing for solutions as he comforted her.

"Alright... okay, I’m going now," Yiyi said.

Hearing his voice, Yiyi seemed to find her anchor. She scrambled to her feet, wiping away tears as she ran out.

Watching Yiyi’s retreating figure, Chu Tian incessantly questioned himself.

His clothes were already drenched with sweat, and beads of perspiration dripped from his forehead.

What to do? What else can I do?

If only... That’s right! The system!

He suddenly remembered he had a system!

Yes! Hemostatic Powder! He remembered now! He’d gotten Hemostatic Powder from a lottery draw before! And Wound patches too!

At that thought, he completely forgot how he had previously cursed the system for always giving him useless junk; right now, he was incredibly grateful for these items.

He hastily opened the system’s inventory. Just as he was about to retrieve the items, he suddenly noticed he was surrounded by people. He quickly reached into his pocket, pretending to take something out. When his hand emerged, it held a Wound patch that resembled a plaster and a small porcelain bottle.

Simultaneously, Chu Tian was reviewing the system’s descriptions of the items in his mind.

[Hemostatic Powder]: Rapid hemostasis

[Wound patch]: Open wound hemostasis and bandaging, disinfecting, antibacterial, and rapid healing.

The Hemostatic Powder was straightforward; as its name suggested, it was for stopping bleeding. The Wound patch, however, was very useful. It could not only stop bleeding but also had disinfecting and antibacterial properties, and it accelerated healing.

Good stuff!

He carefully poured some Hemostatic Powder into his hand. Trying his best not to move Xu Qingqiu, he gently applied the powder to the wound.

Once the powder covered the entire wound, the bleeding stopped immediately. He then hurriedly opened the Wound patch.

Initially, he thought the palm-sized Wound patch wouldn’t be enough to cover the entire gash and that he might need several.

To his surprise, after opening it, the Wound patch could be stretched freely. It expanded from palm-sized to over twenty centimeters without any problem, perfectly covering the wound.

The people around him were puzzled when he produced these items. Hadn’t he just asked us for a first-aid kit and bandages? How did he suddenly take them out himself?

Fortunately, everyone was too flustered, and they simply assumed Chu Tian had forgotten he had them and only just remembered. So, no one questioned it further.

After treating her leg, Chu Tian quickly did the same for the wound on her head.

Looking at the still-unconscious Xu Qingqiu, he sat on the ground, gasping for breath. He had done all he could; now, he could only pray she would be all right.

Just then, the director and others rushed in through the door.

"Where is she? How is she?!"

"Quick! Use the first-aid kit to help bandage her!"

"Has the emergency call been made?"

As soon as he entered, the director began rattling off instructions and then started asking those around for details about the situation.

The staff members, upon seeing the director, immediately began chattering, recounting what had happened.

Chu Tian paid them no attention. His disdain for the production team’s emergency response had reached its peak.

Although only two or three minutes had passed since the incident, from the staff’s panicked behavior to the chaotic and inept on-site emergency response, the entire production team’s procedures were deeply flawed!

Never mind the negligence in equipment maintenance that led to such a major accident; the mistake-ridden, practically non-existent emergency preparedness was their biggest failing!

Either the production team was unprofessional, or they had been cutting corners and hadn’t considered this aspect at all.

Regardless, the production team’s problems were the most significant!

This wasn’t the time to argue with them; saving her was the priority. Once Xu Qingqiu’s situation was handled, the production team would absolutely have to give an account!
