Naruto: Fatherhood Made me Invincible
Chapter 72 72: Ch 72
The Ten-Tails, a monstrous beast that seemed to have slept since the dawn of time, suddenly opened its eyes. A blood-red, crazed light radiated from them, as if it could devour the very souls of all living beings. To replenish its immense chakra, it began to thrash wildly, its enormous tails sweeping out, attacking everything in its path.
Juzo Biwa, the S-rank rogue ninja, had no time to react to the sudden, violent surge of power. He was struck by a heavy blow, his body sent flying, drawing a tragic arc in the air before crashing to the ground, blood splattered, his life extinguished in an instant.
Orochimaru and Kisame Hoshigaki, though far stronger than Juzo, found themselves in a terrifying predicament due to the sudden chaos. A rare flicker of fear crossed Orochimaru's pale face. He rapidly formed hand seals, attempting to use his Snake Escape Technique to slither out of the deadly range. Even so, he was struck by the tail's aftershock, his clothes tattered, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, clearly seriously injured. Kisame, relying on his powerful Water Style ninjutsu, navigated the chaotic waves, but even with his agile dodging, he couldn't completely avoid the omnipresent threat. Several shocking scars now marred his body.
Itachi Uchiha's expression was more solemn than ever. He moved across the battlefield like a ghost, each leap perfectly avoiding the Ten-Tails' deadly attacks. His eyes, fixed on the rampaging beast, rapidly calculated the best escape route, while also remaining alert to any other threats lurking in the chaos.
In the midst of this pandemonium, Black Zetsu, the ancient conspirator who had remained hidden for centuries, seized the opportunity. He burrowed underground, his form rapidly disappearing from everyone's sight. Faced with the Sage of Six Paths, he had been on edge, constantly fearing exposure. Now, with the Sage having unexpectedly appeared, his plans were thoroughly disrupted. He intended to stay far away from the Hidden Rain Village until he could formulate a new strategy.
Obito, relying on his Kamui, was impervious to the Ten-Tails' raw power. Unconcerned with the others, he warped out of the underground space. The Ten-Tails was about to be fully resurrected, and his plan had reached its critical stage. He had to seize Nagato's Rinnegan and become the beast's jinchuriki.
The two remaining Tailed Beasts, the Five-Tails and the Seven-Tails, seemed utterly helpless in the face of this sudden, terrifying crisis. They struggled clumsily in the confined space, watching in helpless horror as the Ten-Tails' immense shadow loomed over them. The Ten-Tails' eyes gleamed with a predatory greed, its massive maw opening like a black hole, instantly engulfing them.
Crunch! Crunch!
The sounds of bone-crushing echoed through the cavern, accompanied by desperate, guttural wails. The Five-Tails and Seven-Tails, their immense bodies still thrashing, were roughly scooped up by the Ten-Tails' tails and stuffed into its abyssal mouth like fragile toys. A roar of chewing, like a landslide and the cracking of the earth, erupted. A fire seemed to burn within the Ten-Tails' body with each bite, its power surging, its presence growing ever more majestic. More complex patterns began to spread across its skin, a sign of its complete resurrection. Every inch of its surface now throbbed with enough energy to destroy the world.
"ROAR—!!!"
The Ten-Tails roared again, and the sound waves spread outwards, visibly warping the air around it, forming invisible ripples that pulsed through the cavern. Rocks crumbled and flew apart as if struck by an invisible hammer. The sky and earth seemed to tear, and a fierce wind erupted, swirling dust and debris around the Ten-Tails, forming a violent vortex.
In the heart of this chaos, the Ten-Tails' red eye flashed with a heart-pounding light. It opened its massive mouth, and streams of immense chakra gathered and compressed, condensing into a dazzling Tailed Beast Ball. This orb of destructive power, as bright as a star and as deep as a black hole, contained enough energy to obliterate all that stood before it.
BOOM—!
The Tailed Beast Ball streaked across the cavern, a meteor of pure destruction, heading straight for the ceiling. Time seemed to freeze. All sound was swallowed by this monumental power. Then, a deafening explosion ripped through the air. The cavern ceiling collapsed instantly, massive rocks flew everywhere, flames shot into the sky, and the entire underground space was illuminated like daylight. The Ten-Tails' colossal body gradually appeared amidst the distortion of light, its translucent outline shimmering in the rain. Its tails thrashed wildly, a primal beast unleashed from its underground prison, surrounded by a violent storm of chakra. Each strand of it was enough to tear space itself, reducing the surrounding trees and buildings to dust in the blink of an eye. Fortunately, this cavern was located far from the Hidden Rain Village. Otherwise, a single Tailed Beast Ball would have obliterated the entire city.
In the Hidden Rain Village, Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama, their eyes now restored, turned almost simultaneously upon hearing the roar. Their gazes pierced the dense rain, locking onto the ominous shadow in the sky. All they saw was the Ten-Tails, a legendary monster, towering like a mountain, shrouded in an ominous, pulsating chakra. It was like a primordial storm, ravaging the very space around it. Each of its tails was as thick as a colossal pillar, thrashing wildly in the thunder-filled night. Every swing was accompanied by a deafening roar, as if it could tear the sky and the earth asunder.
"What... what kind of monster is that?" Hashirama's voice was a low, solemn growl, each word squeezed from between his teeth. An unprecedented shock and vigilance filled his eyes. Though he was the God of Shinobi, he had never encountered such a terrifying existence. The oppressive pressure emanating from the Ten-Tails caused the chakra in his body to stagnate, his heart involuntarily skipping a beat. In his perception, this monster was far more powerful than the Nine-Tails he had once subdued with a single hand.
Uchiha Madara narrowed his newly restored eyes, which now held a deep, endless power. A hint of surprise flickered in them as he stared at the Ten-Tails. "Is that... the Gedo Statue? No... it should be called the Ten-Tails now!" The moment he saw it, he sensed an incredibly familiar aura. He had used the Gedo Statue to prolong his life for decades; he could not be mistaken.
A triumphant smile slowly spread across Madara's face. "It seems that the world is on my side!" He had regained the Rinnegan. Now, all he had to do was absorb the Ten-Tails. Once he did, he would reach the same level as the Sage of Six Paths. And at that point, the Sage would be nothing more than an irritant. With equal power, Madara feared no one. He would make the Sage pay for his earlier insults.
Before he finished speaking, Uchiha Madara had already transformed into a shadow, darting towards the Ten-Tails.
