Naruto: Paradise for One [R-18]
Ch 30: Sparring with Yakumo
The very next day Team 8 gathered after their assigned D-rank mission for training. This time, they had a new visitor joining them.
A brown haired girl bowed in front of them deeply, with her hands at her sides and her silken hair drawn over her face.
"Thank you very much for your generosity. I'll be in your care!"
Yakumo stood back straight, brushing her hair back from her face to reveal her caramel brown eyes.
"Hey Yakumo. Whatsup."
Saul was doing Genjutsu training - two clones were in a pair. One used Genjutsu, the other tried to break out of it. With the use of the mind body palm - the Genjutsu training was actually pretty equal. Normally the chakra disruption technique, Genjutsu Kai, had the advantage because it was easier to disrupt a Genjutsu than to cast it. However because the Mind Body Palm was close range, troublesome to cast, and designed for use on a stationary target, it had the benefit of being much more resilient to disruption techniques.
He only had 2 clones active, however, while training Genjutsu because it used much more chakra than simple transformation or clones. The rest of his clones were doing consumption-less ninja training like throwing Kunai or efficiently setting + disarming traps.
She smiled. "Hello Saul-san."
Suddenly Kiba pounced from a nearby tree, falling to the ground. He got up in a fluster, then picked up Akamaru and held him in his palm.
"Yakumo, right? I'm Kiba! It's my pleasure to meet you!"
Yakumo looked him over, wild hair, leaves sticking to him everywhere, dirt and red paint on his face. She tried her best not to cringe.
"Ummm... Hi?"
"Hey! You know I just wanted to say this, but you have the prettiest voice! I could listen to it all day!"
"T-thanks?" Yakumo looked awkward, clearly not used to dealing with someone like this but trying to remain polite. Saul deadpanned. Kiba...
Blushing even more after his compliment was 'appreciated,' Kiba returned about as smoothly as someone like him could manage.
"Y-you're welcome! Hehe."
Was it better than Rock Lee...? Maybe?
"Kiba." Saul commanded, "Why don't you get back to training."
Kiba stood up straight, slightly sweating. "Yes boss!"
Ever since he beat the shit out of Kiba, the man seemed to defer to him anywhere he went. Probably some dog clique shenanigans. Saul wasn't interested, but it was convenient for scenarios like this. Kiba went back to jumping through trees - trying to train his agility and speed.
"Hey Yakumo. Would you like to do some more Genjutsu practice?"
Saul asked politely. He wondered if his earlier agreement with her father had any effect. Still, it wouldn't be prudent to ask about it directly. He'd know in due time as long as he was tactful.
She nodded. "Great! I have some Shadow Clones practicing over there, so I don't have much chakra. For this time, how about we spar as full ninja?"
"As a Ninja? What do you mean?"
"Just practicing Genjutsu isn't going to cut it. There are 3 areas, Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and Ninjutsu. I remember what your dream was, Yakumo. If you wish to become a true shinobi and revitalize your clan, it would be essential to be able to handle areas other than Genjutsu, right?"
He remembered...! "Yes!"
"Then come at me! Show me what you can do!"
Yakumo formed the seals for the Mind-Body Palm. "Then let's fight Saul-san!" She giggled, "I won't lose easily!"
She kneeled down and planted her palm to the ground, slowly rising up. There it was, a tulip, materialized into reality. She plucked it from the ground and swung it at him, the stem turning into a massive vine that continually grew from her palm.
Saul dived to the right, an expression of shock on his face.
"I said... It wasn't going to be that easy!"
She grabbed the vine with her other hand, and with a strong movement with her entire body, whipped the vine Tulip to the right. Saul wasn't sure what would happen if it touched him - but he knew it was linked to her Genjutsu. One touch, and the chakra from her palm would have a bridge to jump to him. Yakumo's Genjutsu was on another level, completely inescapable.
He rolled back just out of the vine's range right as it passed his position. Then the vine disappeared and the chakra emanating from her hand dissipated. Yakumo was breathing hard, looking at him with determination yet clearly already somewhat spent.
"Prepare yourself, Yakumo!"
With the same chakra enhanced speed he used to dodge her magically extending Genjutsu, he switched gears and immediately rushed towards her. As he approached he formed hand seals.
"Clone Jutsu!"
By this time Yakumo already had another Genjutsu palm ready, he was already upon her: 3 of him in fact. Each one looked so real - in the moment Yakumo couldn't tell! She swiped her palm at the first one, no impact. Ow!
She was sent tumbling to the ground by the real Saul who landed a hit. She looked up, this time noticing 5. They all rushed her at the same time!
"Raahhhh!" Yakumo went on the offensive, swiping her palm. Each figure ducked, weaved, rolled, dodging the thorny vine that lashed out. She struck again, again, and again! One Saul tripped and immediately her thorn whip lashed him, causing him to disperse into nothingness. But the rest had already surrounded her! And at that very moment, her Mind-Body palm dispelled. Its duration was out! He had timed it!
Yakumo panicked. She would lose, she was going to lose! How could she help her clan if even with her legendary Kekkai Genkai, she was still losing this easily!
"No!"
All the clones surrounded her, about to attack! Just as Yakumo closed her eyes, a bony hand extended from behind her, just past her shoulder. It spun around for a moment, its movements surprisingly graceful. The clones were almost still to its perspective. It turned, pointed at a small dirt hill, and rattled. Then it shot out in an instant!
At that moment all the clones around Yakumo instantly dispersed. She looked around in shock. What just happened?
The Saul within the trench looked down in horror. A small, almost dainty, hand made of bone, had pierced into his stomach. He was unable to move. His forehead was coated with clammy, cold sweat.
"What the fuck...?"
Saul dispersed.
Author's Note - There we go! Yakumo is kind of an absurdly strong character lol, like a child with an AK-47. Extremely deadly, yet lacking in all the aspects a real soldier needs to wield their weapon effectively. In addition if her negative emotions get too strong, her AK decides to install aimbot and automatically shoot every 'threat' in sight, regardless of what the real situation actually is. It was no wonder Kurenai felt so forced to stop her from becoming a Ninja in canon!
Anyways I hope you enjoyed the fight scene! I hope to write more like these in the future.
