Kiba left the pair to train on their own after a short cordial talk with Kurenai. She could tell something was wrong, but couldn't quite put her finger on it. The boy's motivations seemed noble after all. She was actually quite proud that he'd make such a selfless decision. 

Saul however, was finally willing to lose against Hinata if it guaranteed she had good combat practice. The woman was much stronger than him, just like Naruto, but if she didn't have the combat experience to use it properly then none of that would matter.

Just like in the original series, where she was baited into the first exchange and immediately had the tenketsu in her arms closed. The fight was over at that point - even if she continued to uselessly show her determination by getting up again and again. None of her desperate efforts really mattered at that point. Saul would not accept a repeat of this.

"Hinata."

"Yes, my lovely Saul-kun?"

"Let's spar."

"...I don't want to."

Saul shook her off, backing away from her clinging. Hinata's heart felt like it was tearing...!

"But Saul-kun~!"

"No buts. I know you have the strength, but I need you to show me you have the will. I want you to use your bow as well."

Hinata, both hurt and horrified, shook her head vehemently. 

"No no, absolutely not!"

"Hinata... Don't test me." He made a come hither gesture, and she walked forward obedient but trembling.

"I'll only fight you with shadow clones, ok?" He brushed her hair comfortingly, "There will be absolutely no danger to me."

This was where she belonged, comforted in his embrace. She would do anything to always have a spot in his arms...💗 Hinata felt much more at ease and nodded. She still didn't want to inflict any pain on him, but since he was so insistent she felt she had no choice but to obey. 

"I will be fighting you with my full, non-lethal force, so make sure not to hold back ok? You can only defeat me if you are willing to try."

"En!"

The girl agreed, but Saul knew she would only make a show of it. The way she stared up at him with love in her eyes, just asking for a kiss, was not the state one had when seriously preparing to fight. Yet he'd still indulge her, just this once. After a kiss on the lips that made Hinata quiver with happiness, Saul jumped back and formed clones.

The original stood back and waved to her. "I will be just watching this fight as the original, so you know which one is really me at all times. Now prepare yourself!"

Hinata could activate up to five Byakugan at once while still keeping her Chakra consumption sustainable in a real fight. But she didn't need clones. Not against Saul-kun. He was getting extremely strong for a civilian ninja. However, she saw everything. Always watching him, loving him, she knew his current strength better than he did. Compared to her... he was weak. Hinata didn't want to damage his confidence too badly.

She activated her Byakugan. There was no hiding from her eyes. Five clones streaked through the forest, surrounding her with ninja wire. Two clones created trenches that led to her and created cover within the forest. And the final one observed her from afar, waiting, watching. Hinata knew he was primed to jump her in an instant if she ever showed an opening.

Hinata didn't know what he was up to, but she didn't care either. She'd show Saul-kun exactly what she was capable of.

Lifting her bow out from its shoulder strap, Hinata drew a single arrow from the quiver around her waist. Her skills with a bow were not pinpoint yet - she still couldn't hit small targets from far away. Yet last week she had focused on having her clones all practice archery without using the Byakugan. While moving.

Grabbing the arrow using her thumb and putting it on the opposite of the recommended side of the bow, she drew the arrow. It was a technique that she developed on her own that seemed to fit her the best. Unlike the recommended style of shooting, it gave her the ability to hit targets accurately no matter what way she moved. The arrow, pinched to the string between her forefinger and thumb, would not falter. 

Her Byakugan watched all the clones but focused on a single one. This one was about to attack her soon. She drew and waited. One of the ninja wire strings was cut free by that Saul from the tree, lashing out at her. But it entered the absolute range of her Byakugan. The moment it was there, she saw. Now! 

Hinata did a backflip over the incoming wire, time seeming to slow down for her as the wind buffeted through her long, fluttering hair. She pulled back a little further, aiming exactly at the Saul whose focus had shifted at that very moment to cut the wire. And fired.

*Twang!*

A loud sound rang out from her recurve bow. The arrow, both swift and silent, struck the clone right as he passed by a tree. He had no chance to react. The arrow pierced all the way through his chest, sending him spinning, tumbling helplessly through the air. He rolled on the ground and clutched at the arrow desperately. And his face! Her poor Saul-kun's face was twisted in agony. Hinata flinched more than the real Saul did as the clone disappeared. She hated this!

The Saul that was watching her made the hand seal for the body flicker jutsu, so she had no chance to grieve. Spinning midair, she deflected a kick from behind with her own, then struck out with a gentle fist palm. The clone had used the body flicker jutsu again off her body to retreat before her attack landed.

Suddenly multiple clones flickered into attack her once over and over before flickering away while she was still in midair! Hinata continuously spun, meeting every attack with lightning efficiency and a deadly bite. Her black hair whipped around furiously as she moved, dispelling two clones that were even slightly too slow to retreat.

She was faster, stronger, and yet... She took a kick to the back. Once she was hit for the first time, she couldn't defend herself effectively anymore and started to take more and more hits. Sorry Saul-kun... Hinata knew this technique would be painful.

"Eight Trigrams Palms, Revolving Heaven!"

*BOOM!!!*

A supersonic boom echoed outwards extremely loudly, as a chakra sphere violently surged and surrounded Hinata in midair! It sent waves of supersonic chakra that pierced through multiple of Saul's clones like they were merely made of paper, literally ripping their bodies apart! They died in an instant and were dispelled forcefully. The remaining Saul's were in shock. She just broke the fucking sound barrier!

There were only two clones left. They had both formed the seals for the mind body palm, their hands glowing with a green light. It was a chakra extensive Jutsu that Saul couldn't use often, but it was really his last shot! The clones rushed at Hinata, who stood there with her back turned, silently watching. 

Her body swayed back and forth, dodging every single attack. She could see their intentions, their future, everything about Saul especially was laid bare under her eyes. She dodged his phantoms before he moved, reacted to his smallest intentions even before he knew them himself. It was time to finish this. 

A flash of blue trailed into a line as Hinata's hand snaked out in an instant, destroying one clone. Her eyes followed the other as its glowing green palm passed by her face, missing by merely an inch. To Hinata however, an inch, centimeter, even a millimeter, under her eyes it was as far as a mile. A distance that could never be crossed.

As soon as the clone was destroyed however, multiple ninja wire came lashing out at her from all angles. The last remaining clone body flickered itself in a trench before she could react. And then she was surrounded by whipping snakes of steel. A last ditch effort?

"Eight Trigrams Palms, Revolving Heaven!"

*BOOM*

This was the absolute defense of the Hyuuga, nothing could even touch her! She disintegrated all the wire that came her way. But just after she stopped spinning the final clone came running at her with the Genjutsu!

"Hinata, you lose!"

No Saul-kun... She had already seen this coming, already noticed his approach. Her gentle fist arced out like a blue flash of lightning, hitting him in the chest. He dispelled. But at that very moment, her ankle was grabbed by a glowing, green palm extending from underneath the very ground she stood on. 

Suddenly Hinata was pulled into a Genjutsu.

"Release!"

It didn't work. Hinata waited for a little while.

Why hadn't he let her out already? She'd lost.

"Ok Saul-kun... Well done~! You win. Let me out please?"
