CHAPTER 74: BREAKTHROUGH

"This is pure power I say." Zou yelled, as he weaved in and out of the spaces in the battlefield. With each space that he passed through, a head fell to the ground. That was how good his sword play had become.

After battling the wolves for an additional hour. They finally managed to put an end to them.

Mia fell on her butt, from the sheer stress, strain and lack of mana that she had right now.

"Hahaha. I see that you are tired Mia. My healer should not be tired. Anakin why don’t you hand Mia some, stamina and mana recovering potion. We cannot allow our healer to be weak, can we?" Zou instructed, as the other crew members started to loot the corpse of the slain wolves.

"We are going to be f*ing rich. There is no way that we won’t make a fortune with the number of materials that we have harvested in this dungeon.

I can just imagine the number of whores that I will take to bed. When we are done from the dungeon. It is going to be a freaky party." Mateo grinned crazily, as he announced the crazy fantasies that were in his head due to the riches that his guild had.

"Nobody cares about your freak party. You have to remain focused. This is a red zone dungeon. You should be attentive at all times. You do not know if the enemy is lurking or stalking us.

You should always be battle ready." Faye said, as she cleaned off the blood that stained her sword. She was the vice leader of the guild, and she was also the most serious of the guild members.

"Zou, I still think it is a bad idea for us to be in the red zone dungeon. It is too dangerous. "Faye said, as she was still questioning the reason why Zou carried them to the red zone dungeon.

Their intention was to enter a normal 1 star dungeon, but ever since Zou met Tim and his summons. All their plans changed.

"Relax Faye. Don’t you see that we have everything under our control. How can this mere dungeon trample over us. We will soon have our second 2 Star in the guild just give me time. I will break through in the next hour or so." Zou said, as he continued to push the barrier of his meridian.

Those that practised the Sage art, had a meridian that became much stronger the more they breakthrough through the star rank.

The meridians’ primary function was to absorb energy from the surrounding, sometimes it absorbs even mana energy, then it converts the absorbed energy into Aura.

The Aura that is created, is a strong force that is used to counter magic. Based on how the Aura was wielded, a Sage art warrior could unleash terrifying waves and display of power.

And right now, Zou was about to break through, in essence a meridian moves to the higher rank when it has been exposed to high level of energy absorption or when the sage user stretches the boundary of their meridian constantly, which leads to it breaking out from its initial shell to a stronger shell.

The latter was what Zou was doing at the moment. He was crazily absorbing the displaced energy of the dead wolves, and he was using them to push against the barrier of his meridian.

Seeing that Zou was serious in his attempt to breakthrough to the second rank. Faye decided to leave Zou alone at least for now.

She still questioned a lot of things that he did.

Sweat Beads trickled down Zou’s face as he pushed and pushed against the barrier of his meridian shell. During his battle against the wolves, he could feel the crack on his meridian.

But now it seemed like in the absence of battle, he could not create more cracks in his meridian shell.

Gritting his teeth, Zou increased the rate at which he was absorbing energy into his body. He absorbed both energy and even mana.

His physical body was lit up with Aura, overwhelming aura. Which just showcased the intensity at which he was absorbing the energy.

A wave of energy slammed violently against his meridian. Each smash of the wave against the barrier shell of his meridian felt like Zou was struck in his belly by a massive hammer.

Soon enough, blood began to spew from the holes of Zou’s face. He was truly determined to reach the 2nd Star and the energy levels of the red zone dungeon assisted him also.

"Woah. The boss is crying blood. That is so cool. You Sage warriors are really trying. I cannot imagine myself going through this sort of pain, all in the name of levelling up.

I rather be the one delivering the pain, than be the one receiving the pain" Mateo said, as he hid his devious smile.

Faye sighed at Matteo’s words. She was not a good person, but she always admitted to herself that the length of crime that her guild committed was on another level.

She was once a lady of good character, but at the moment Zou had turned her reality into something else. She started to kill and steal from the weak.

She did not like it at first and she protested against it. But later on she started enjoying it a little. It was a weird feeling for her, but she did enjoy it.

Everyone in her guild were in one way of the other a psycho. Even the innocent Mia was also a hardened criminal.

She sighed once more, as she sat on the ground with her back resting against a tree. She was bored. She was tired of the guild that she was in.

She needed an escape, but she could not escape with Zou being alive. She sighed again, as she brought out some meat from her storage.

She started to eat it, as she watched Zou go through his breakthrough. If Zou broke through, then her chances of leaving the guild would even be smaller.
