CHAPTER 228: FINALLY!

"Are you really okay, Coco?" Lala asked, her eyebrows furrowed in worry.

The two of them are currently on their way down to the Yogusho Village, a flying pig perched on Coco’s shoulders along with the basket full of strawberries, lemon, kiwi, and oranges.

The merchant asked for oranges because it was the most sold fruit in the market as of late, but she let Coco know that she’s open for any kind of fruit she can bring back.

However, Coco could not bring back just an orange, she believed that if the merchant really wanted to fill the basket with oranges, she would not have told Coco that she could bring back other fruits as well.

It doesn’t matter. Coco thought, the corner of her lips curling down into a frown, trying to push all the thoughts about a certain mediator away from her mind.

Coco let out a sigh, her emerald irises staring blankly in the distance as she walked her way down the usual path.

"Talk to me, Coco." The garden fairy whimpered out, her small hands touching Coco’s right cheek all the while nuzzling her face on Coco’s cheek, too.

Coco could only sigh again— the only response she could give to the garden fairy at the moment.

She was too shocked by what she realized back at the house that she can’t form a proper thought without thinking about what happened.

This is getting troublesome

. Coco thought, raising a hand to her face and pressing the pads of her fingers against the bridge of her nose, squeezing the area under her fingertips to lessen the headache that formed earlier that day.

I promised to take responsibility for this body’s former habitant and divorce them as peacefully as I could.. Coco paused her train of thoughts for a moment, her right eyebrow twitching.

But it seems that it would be difficult if I decide to stay in this village for a little longer. Coco added to her previous train of thoughts, sighing weakly under her breath.

"Coco?" Lala whined, tilting her head to get a clearer look at Coco’s face when she heard her human sigh.

"Lala." The human finally spoke up and glanced at the garden fairy standing on the top right spot of her chest, just a little lower than her shoulder, "I’m thinking of looking for a house somewhere else instead of staying here."

Lala gasped audibly, her red eyes widening in surprise and disbelief, a large smile breaking into her face as she squealed.

"Really?! You’re finally wanting to do something for yourself and not for those men?! I’m so happy! Finally!" The garden fairy squealed, a gleeful expression on her face as she hugged Coco’s face.

"I thought I have to watch you slave yourself to them for another month! I’m so glad that you’re finally leaving this village!" Lala whined, but expressed her relief.

Coco felt the corner of her lips twitch slightly, the garden fairy’s reaction was amusing and it was enough to distract her from thinking of a certain red haired mediator— her focus solely on Lala at the moment.

"Do you dislike this village that much?" Coco laughed halfheartedly, a small crooked smile on her lips.

Lala paused her cheer and stood still on top of Coco’s chest for a good second before she shook her head. "No, not really.. I just don’t like a good number of the people living inside the village."

"I could tell." Coco chuckled as she shook her head as her grip on the flying pig’s leg tightened slightly, "Among those numbers is the husbands of Coco Hughes, right?"

Lala gasped, pressing a palm on her chest. "Oh, my! You could tell? That’s so shocking!"

The sarcasm is as clear as day, making Coco roll her eyes at the garden fairy’s antics as she walks through the village gates, the bottom of her beginner’s boots thumping gently against the ground.

"Anyway!" Lala stopped her dramatic act and tapped Coco’s cheek, "I don’t mind growing two batches of fruits starting tomorrow."

"No, you don’t have to." Coco declined the offer as polite as she could, her voice low into a whisper to avoid suspicion from the people around her, "I have to start using the skills I have so I don’t have to worry once we can go to the main city."

"Skills?" Lala asked, blinking owlishly.

She completely forgot that Coco received skills from Lulu as a compensation for accidentally ending her life to assist Coco in her new life in a new world.

"Oh, no!" The fairy gasped out of shock as she turned to Coco with her red eyes going as wide as saucers, "You have skills! I totally forgot about them! You need to plant new seeds to her experience points to level the skills up!"

And you’re telling me this just now? Coco thought to herself, a deadpan expression on her face.

She couldn’t voice out her question because she already arrived at the butcher shop, just in time to see Jacques walking out of the small building.

"Coco!" The pink haired woman brightened up when her eyes landed on her friend, "Perfect timing! Koa dropped by just now and she told me to inform you that you can just leave the basket in the back of the shop."

"Okay." Coco smiled and walked past Jacques, stepping a foot inside the butcher shop, "I’m guessing that she has something she has to take care of?"

"Seems like it." Renaldo hummed out, answering the question since Jacques already left.

"Since she said that, I’ll go straight to the village hall to get my permit." Coco mumbled under her breath, dropping the dead winged monster on the counter with a loud thump, making the knife and the knife sharpener clatter loudly.

"Oh, yeah." Renaldo blinked and turned to Coco, "Your husbands stopped by and was looking for you, especially the red haired one.."

Coco froze in her spot.

"He said that he needs to talk to you."
