New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 335: A quest?
CHAPTER 335: A QUEST?
"Whatever the case, we won’t be responsible if you received a heavy injury from the monsters." The woman said, narrowing her eyes towards Coco.
Coco raised a hand like she was caught red handed and shrugged, her face blank, but her eyes mirroring the intense stare the woman shot her way. "Whatever the case, I chose to come here like this so please get out of my hair."
The man, who was still in shock, blinked and tilted his head. "Get out of your hair? We’re not even that close to you—"
Ding.
Dong.
Ding.
Dong.
Suddenly, a bell rang loudly, its sound similar to those from a church, causing both the man and the woman to pause, their heads turning towards the source of the bell ring— which was just ahead of them.
Coco followed their gazes, her ears taking in the resonating sound, the atmosphere in the corridor abruptly changing.
The two instructors straightened up upon hearing the bell, their postures suddenly exuding an air of authority and professionalism, then the woman turned towards Coco, a stern look on her face.
"The match is about to start." She stated matter-of-factly, her expression hardening as she continued, her eyes looking at Coco from head to toe. "You’ll go last for this insolence of yours. Just because wearing hunting gear wasn’t required doesn’t mean you’ll be arrogant enough to refuse to follow safety protocols."
The man nodded in agreement with the woman, his gaze fixated on Coco with the same stern expression.
"I don’t know how you got here." He started, his voice sharp and authoritative as he glared at Coco, "But you obviously barely passed through the first stage for you to still be standing here a fool."
The man’s tone was filled with frustration and annoyance, clearly unconvinced by Coco’s apparent lack of proper preparation and readiness for the exam.
"And what’s your weapon going to do with the monsters?" The woman took a jab towards the farming tool on Coco’s hip, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "Don’t tell me that hoe is your weapon?"
Coco merely stared at them, not answering nor giving them the satisfaction of retaliation.
"You’re impossible." The man hissed, his hands curling into a fist. "Do you think these stages are just kid’s games? For you to carry a farming tool?"
Once again, Coco didn’t answer.
However, she blinked in surprise, her attention momentarily drawn away from the instructors by the sound of people exiting the changing rooms.
The noise of footsteps and muffled conversation filled the air, the once-quiet corridor now filled with hushed murmurs, but soon was stopped when they noticed that something was happening.
Coco turned her focus back to the instructors, their expressions unchanged.
Thankfully, with the arrival of the other examinees from the changing room, they took a deep back, but not before they shot Coco one last disapproving glare before redirecting their attention to the gathering participants.
"Gather around and line up!" The two of them simultaneously commanded, their voices carrying an authoritative tone.
The instructions echoed down the corridor, the examinees obeying their command and quickly forming a line behind them within moments.
As the instructors supervised the others on lining up, they made sure to isolate Coco.
Of course, Coco frowned, her expression showing a mix of annoyance as she realized that she had been placed at the end of the line.
She could feel the woman instructor’s firm gaze fixed on her, warning her to stay in line.
Calm down. Coco told herself as she forced herself to look away from the woman’s gaze. It’s not good to pick a fight with these people when I haven’t passed the license examination just yet.
With her small pep talk, Coco’s frustration simmered down— just beneath the surface as she adjusted her position at the very end of the line, her gaze darting between the examinees ahead of her and the instructor’s stern gaze.
Coco remained silent, following the lead of the instructors as they directed the examinees down the corridor.
She fell in line behind the others, her footsteps falling in sync with everyone else’s as they moved in a single file line which made the walk swift and efficient.
Coco kept her eyes fixated on the person in front of her, observing his physical language and physique.
The instructors led them towards a gate, its appearance similar to a coliseum’s entrance— with the gate being large, its carvings and detailed design standing out against the plain stone of the hall.
As everyone approached the gate, the gate slowly groaned open, the sound of metal scraping against the stone echoing through the area.
Coco took in the sight of the massive gate, the size and obvious weight of it striking a sense of awe within her.
She couldn’t stop the feeling of the slightest bit of anticipation as the opening gate revealed the waiting arena beyond despite still feeling under the weather.
Well, who wouldn’t feel a little excited in this situation? No one, right—
Ding!
The familiar sound echoed in Coco’s mind before a scroll began to take shape before her eyes, drawing her attention from the open gate.

Coco stared blankly on the quest scroll, her eyes narrowing slightly into a glare.
A quest on a time like this? Coco thought, her hands slowly balling lightly into a fist as she took a deep breath through her nose, doing her best to stay calm.
And migraines as a punishment for failing?
