Chapter 363: Instructor
CHAPTER 363: INSTRUCTOR
"Does every team have a co-team?" The guild master called out, his eyes roaming the crowd of examinees.
"Yes, sir."
"Yes, guild master."
The answers were split into two, but they were loud and clear enough for the guild master to continue.
"Good, good." He said, nodding his head with a smile. "Now, we will be proceeding to the next step. Instructors, please step forward."
The hunters in front stepped forward.
"Once again, these will be your instructor for the third examination." The guild master announced and gestured to the five hunters who straightened their backs. "And they will be the ones who would report to me what transpired in your designated areas."
The aspiring hunters shuffled in their feet, waiting for the guild master to give the instructors the green signal to start choosing the team they wanted to lead.
"Okay, spread out, teams!" The guild master exclaimed, making everyone scramble away from each other, but sticking together to their team members and to the other team that they chose to guard their backs.
When everyone got into position, the guild master nodded his head and turned to the instructors.
"Get in position." He told them, making the five of them tense up and turn to one direction— all of them having a certain team in mind that they want to lead, no matter what.
The guild master chuckled, observing the way his high ranking hunters look at him to give them the signal to start running to their desired team, but he prolonged the signal and shuffled in his feet.
Everyone watched with bated breath as the guild master raised a hand, his attention turning to the two teams under the shade of the tree in the training ground.
Coco grew tense when her gaze clashed with the guild master’s, a chill running down her spine.
The look in his eyes.. It was the look of someone finding something intriguing, something worthy of their time and interest— and unfortunately, it seems like that something was Coco herself.
"Get ready." The guild master hummed, smiling at Coco. "In three, two, one.."
The hunters grew more and more tense, their stances going frigid as they got ready to sprint towards the teams they have their eyes on.
".. Go!" The signal was yelled out, making everyone flinch from how loud it was.
However, it was like the gates of heaven were opened for the hunters who were anticipating the permission to run towards the aspiring hunters.
"Wait, wait, wait.." Yura started mumbling, her eyes going wide when she noticed the instructors running in full speed towards their direction, their faces blank, but with a determined expression.
"Would you look at that?" The man from the other team, who is also known as Zuyo, whistled.
"They’re running this way because of Miss Coco over here." Myra commented, the corner of her lips curling up in a smug smirk as she watched the instructors push the others to get ahead.
"What?" Coco frowned, turning her head to Myra. "Why would they want to lead my team?"
Everyone looked at her, their eyebrows raising to their hairline at the question, but only Yura was courageous enough to voice out her bewilderment.
"Are you serious?" She tilted her head, a look of incredulous on her face.
Coco opened her mouth to say that she was serious because who in their right mind would want to lead a team with a woman who defeated two tough monsters with a farming tool?
If it were her, she wouldn’t choose that team because it was clear that something wasn’t right.
However, she couldn’t voice her opinion because the instructors started going at each other’s throat, launching themselves forward, only to topple down when another one managed to grab either their hair or collar.
Coco looked up, just in time to see a woman instructor have her hair get pulled.
Coco winced. "Ooh, that must have hurt like a bitch.."
Myra hummed, agreeing with Coco’s comment, but she turned to face her. "What does bitch mean?"
Coco froze, her face draining of its color and laughed awkwardly. "Uh.. It’s a bad word that shouldn’t be uttered when there’s a kid around you.."
"Bitch?" Myra tested the word out before she nodded her head. "I like it.. Yeah, that must have hurt like a bitch."
Oh, no.. Why am I teaching people swears? Coco thought as the urge to slap herself became strong, but she couldn’t do it at the moment because the instructors were getting closer.
Fortunately, but at the same time, unfortunately— one of the high ranking hunters had reached their spots, hand reaching out and stumbling at the last second which made him crash against Coco, his forehead clashing against hers.
The impact made Coco fall back against Lukas and Lukas, who was not expecting the sudden weight and pressure, fell back with Coco and the instructor on top of him.
"Fuck.." Coco hissed, the pain on her head throbbing slightly.
"Curse you, Greinzer!" An unfamiliar voice exclaimed, sounding disappointed and annoyed. "How did you manage to jump that far?! This is cheating!"
The weight on top of Coco shifted before she was freed, making Coco open her eyes— which she didn’t notice that she shut in the first place— and saw that the instructor stood up, dusting himself off and turning to look at the one who cursed him.
"It’s not my fault that you’re as slow as the offspring of the crocodiles." Greinzer, the hunter with red eyes that Coco encountered a few days ago, stated.
His statement made the other instructor let out a huff and turn away, walking to the opposite direction of Coco’s team, off to find another team because Greinzer got to them first.
"That was interesting to watch." Myra commented.
"It was all because of the guild master’s stupid idea." The hunter grunted out.
"Let’s make this quick.." He started, burying the lower part of his face deeper into the collar of his black coat. "And start introducing yourselves."
