CHAPTER 473: MANA

"I didn’t know that you’re scared of something, Coco." Heiren stated, the corner of his lips curling up into a teasing smile.

"Yeah, well—" Coco tried to say something, but her voice broke and she choked on her spit which made Heiren’s eyes go wide in surprise.

The mediator grabbed a glass of water from the faucet and rushed back to Coco, handing her the water.

Coco immediately drank the water and chugged the clear liquid without hesitation, her throat gulping the contents of the glass until there was no single drop left inside.

She placed the empty glass down on the table, wiping her lips off with a huff.

Heiren stared at her for a moment before he burst out laughing, the sound of his laughter being so loud that the other husbands, who went to the basement to get the knee tall goleter, suddenly ran up to go to the kitchen.

Alhai was the first one to get inside, his eyebrows furrowed in worry as he looked between Coco and Heiren.

Coco looked a little pale and she was panting, but Heiren’s face was bright with a smile that was heavily accompanied with a joyous laughter while clutching his stomach.

"Pft—" Heiren did his best to stop, but found himself physically unable to do so.

"What happened, Coco?" Alhai asked the sitting woman, walking towards her with careful steps as he kept his gaze on Heiren like he was looking at a person who finally lost his mind.

"Nothing.." Coco mumbled, sighing weakly as she rubbed her face in an attempt to get the embarrassment off her entire being.

"Are you sure?" The third husband insisted, raising an eyebrow towards her.

"I’m sure, Alhai." Coco grunted out, burying her face in her hands and forced herself to ignore the laughing mediator on the other side of the table.

"Okay.." Alhai murmured, hesitantly letting go of the matter to not make Coco upset.

Not a moment after he said those words, Zaque and Quizen came rushing inside with the stone monster held captive in Zaque’s hand as if he was merely holding a trash bag.

"Here’s your goleter, Coco." Zaque announced, dropping the tied up monster on the table.

"Hey!" The stone monster growled, struggling in his bind, his glowing red eyes narrowed into a menacing glare. "You better watch it, humans! Once I get out of this form and gather my strength back— I’ll hunt you down and kill all of you!"

Coco turned her head to the monster and grabbed him by the ropes binding his body. "You and I are going to have a serious talk later, buddy."

"Let go of me!" The goleter thrashed against her hold, kicking and trying to writhe away.

"I don’t like the tone you used on my husbands." Coco stated bluntly and glared at the monster. "I don’t raise my voice on them, but you went ahead of yourself and raised your voice? Just because you were a king beast doesn’t give you the right to do that to them."

The goleter felt a cold chill run down his stone spine, the mana that coursed through his body started to go haywire as Coco tightened her grip on him.

"You—" The goleter gasped out, but he choked on his word. "Stop it, human! You’re channeling your mana on me!"

Coco didn’t let him finish because frankly, she didn’t know what he was talking about— besides, she was just merely holding him off the table while glaring at him.

Unbeknownst to her, the atmosphere inside the room changed drastically and it brought pressure to not just the monster, but also to the mediators around her, making them gasp for air as if they were being suffocated.

They clutched their necks, their eyes wide in fear while they stared at Coco, silently pleading for her to notice their struggle.

"Coco!" Came a high-pitched voice that was dripping with worry from the kitchen door. "Coco! Calm down! Your mana is leaking in and it’s making everyone within ten radius have a hard time breathing!"

Lala went through the doorframe and flew towards her friend, her words sinking into Coco’s brain.

Coco’s glare vanished in an instant, her eyes going wide in both confusion and surprise. "My what is leaking? What are you talking about, Lala?"

Fortunately, with Coco being distracted by the garden fairy, the mana that was channelling through the goleter stopped.

"Your mana!" The fairy exclaimed and smacked Coco’s hand that was holding the stone monster which caused Coco to let go of him. "Control your mana! You’re going to kill everyone around you if you don’t, okay?!"

The goleter scoffed even though he was also struggling to breathe a second ago. "The fairy knows more than you."

"Shut up." Coco turned to the goleter and smacked him upside the head, making his head thrown forward because of the little force that Coco used.

"Why do you resort to violence?! Are you a barbarian?!" The monster growled, fed up being manhandled.

However, instead of paying attention in the stone monster’s words like earlier, she turned her attention to the four mediators that had gone strangely quiet for a while now.

"Heiren!" She immediately got off her seat and gasped out of shock. "Zaque— Quizen?! Alhai!"

She didn’t notice earlier, but the four of them are all pale and was kneeling on the floor, gasping desperately for air like they were held captive by their throat.

"What happened?!" Coco cried out, her hands trembling as she kneeled beside Heiren, rubbing his back.

"It was because your mana leaked out earlier." The garden fairy informed her with a frown. "A concentrated mana only comes out when a strong emotion or desire bloomed from the mana wielder."

"Shit, so it was my fault why they’re like this?" Coco’s face went pale, her hold on Heiren tightening unconsciously. "I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have gotten mad."

"Why did you get so mad?" The fairy questioned.

"Because the goleter raised his voice to my husbands."
