Chapter 475: King beasts and assurance
CHAPTER 475: KING BEASTS AND ASSURANCE
"When the quest said that it’s a vest.. I didn’t know that they were talking about a dirty corset." Coco mumbled, staring blankly at the reward she got for capturing a goleter.
"That’s a corset for you?" Alhai asked, staring at the piece of clothing himself.
"Is it not a corset for your eyes?" Coco shot back, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion as she gestured towards the said clothing. "That’s not how a vest looks, okay? That’s a corset, Alhai."
Alhai shrugged his shoulders and turned away, walking over to the door. "I’ll be out for a moment, I have to get my books."
"Alright." Coco responded, keeping her gaze on the reward.
The mediator opened the bedroom door and walked out, closing the door behind him.
The mediators agreed with each other to take turns sleeping beside Coco starting tonight because of the goleter that she decided to keep, not trusting the stone monster to be docile around her.
The goleter openly said that he was a king beast that wanted to kill Coco, but their wife didn’t see him as a threat whatsoever.
They couldn’t help, but be concerned about her safety so they begged Coco to let them sleep with her every night starting tonight to ensure her safety— not caring if they’ll lose sleep keeping an eye on the little stone monster.
Thankfully, Coco didn’t mind.
The husbands did the rock paper scissors game to know who will be the lucky knight in shining robe tonight which the third husband won by a landslide.
"Don’t do anything foolish!" Lala called to the goleter that was placed on the couch, a collar placed on his neck that has a nameplate with no writing. "Coco will give you a name before she sleeps so behave!’
Right, the garden fairy gave Coco a collar that would ensure the stone monster’s obedience training would go well.
"Are you sure that it’s appropriate to give a king beast like him a collar like that, Lala?" Coco asked, glancing over to her fairy friend who kept staring at the stone monster like there’s no tomorrow.
"Appropriate? No, but we must do everything in our power to keep that sneaky beast from attacking you!" The garden fairy tutted out, crossing her arms.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Coco raised an eyebrow, feeling a little lost.
"I mean, for someone to tame a king beast like that, they must assert dominance in every possible way to make the beast surrender!" Lala explained, gesturing towards the huffing and puffing goleter sitting by the couch that glared at the two of them.
"He.. He looks like he just wants to be left alone." Coco blinked, tilting her head.
"Trust me, that thing only looks like that, but he will attack you the moment you let your guard down!" Lala cried out, letting out an exasperated sigh.
"Again, what is that supposed to mean?" Coco crossed her arms, her attention now solely focused on the garden fairy.
"It’s better to keep an eye on him if you don’t want to knock some sense into him, that’s what I mean!" Lala exclaimed, dragging her hands down her face to show Coco that the monster situation is serious.
Does she look dramatic? Probably, but she doesn’t care.
"There are approximately four king beasts in every world my mother and her sisters made." Lala started and glared at the goleter. "Each king beast is for different strong monsters that exist in that world."
"Is this king beast weaker among the other king beasts?" Coco asked, making the goleter perk up.
"Hey! I’m stronger than one of them, you puny human!" The goleter growled and stood up on the couch, his collar shining a little from the movement he made. "Just because you caught me doesn’t mean I’m the weakest among the four of us!"
"Yeah, he’s the weakest." Lala answered, crossing her arms.
"I just said that I’m not! Are you even listening to me?!" The small king beast hissed, stomping his foot on the soft cushion of the couch.
"We have another king beast that can be captured." Lala continued speaking as if the goleter don’t exist. "And since the advancement of the monster encyclopedia of the hunter guild still doesn’t have the other type monsters, we won’t be able to capture them."
"That’s because those old fools are sleeping!" The goleter screamed on the top of his lungs, shaking visibly from anger. "They don’t care about humans killing their own kin! They’re traitors!"
"King beasts sleep for a long time to conserve their strength.. And with you appearing in this world.." Lala started, slowly trailing off as she frowned. "They will probably be awake anytime soon— like the weak one that you easily caught today."
"She didn’t defeat me easily." The goleter groaned, dragging his hands on his face, fed up with the fairy’s choice of words.
"But it’s okay, Coco." The garden fairy’s wings fluttered as she started to fly, making her way to Coco’s face and gessoing her nose with her hands. "It doesn’t matter if they come looking for you."
"Because?" Coco frowned, her eyebrows furrowing in worry. "If the goleter is the weakest.. Then I can’t imagine how strong the other remaining king beasts would be."
"I said I’m not the weakest out of the four of us!" The goleter screamed.
"Because you’re stronger than them!" Lala giggled, patting Coco’s nose as if the information she just uttered was the most obvious thing in the world. "Youre stronger than the goleter now because you have him and that won’t be the end of it."
"I did have a little trouble capturing the goleter though.. He was bigger than me." Coco mumbled, glancing at the monster and saw him just in time perking up.
"Ha!" The goleter let out an obnoxious laugh.
"But yeah, you’re right.. He’s still noticeably weaker than other monsters I have faced before." Coco smiled and turned to Lala, giggling.
"What?!" The monster let out a sound of disbelief.
