CHAPTER 477: A NAME [2]

"Well, how about bringing him to work? Are you planning to bring him with you?" Heiren asked, tilting his head.

Coco nodded in confirmation, her gaze shifting momentarily to the goleter on the chair before returning to Heiren. "I have no choice.. I need to be sure that he’s completely tame."

She continued, her voice tinged with reluctance. "I can’t have him causing any trouble for you or the others so I’ll make sure to train him well first, ensuring that he understands it’s not okay to threaten you or any of my other husbands."

Heiren’s face became slightly flushed at that as he offered a nod of acknowledgement.

"Uh, okay.. That’s a relief then.." He replied, mumbling.

Coco noticed the subtle change in Heiren’s demeanor, but chose not to comment on it, instead focusing on the first part of his question.

"About the name, I’m thinking of asking you and others about some good suggestions. I suck at giving names— except for Konoha. I gave her a beautiful name inspired by my favorite anime’s village name." She admitted with a slight chuckle before she took another bite of her pancake.

"Anime?" Heiren raised an eyebrow, his bubbling shyness going down.

"Yeah.. It’s a type of television entertainment where people would animate a certain story and turn it into an anime—" She started, but then her attention was briefly divided between her breakfast and the goleter, a thought crossing her mind.

Not a second after, a smile spread across her face and with a look of certainty, she declared. "You know what? I do have a few names in mind for him."

"Really?" Heiren blinked, slightly taken aback from the sudden change of her mind.

"Mhmm!" She answered nonverbally before she continued munching on her pancakes, her gaze locked on the creature perched on the chair.

The goleter, seemingly trying to be oblivious to her thoughts, just stared at her with his beady red eyes, his expression almost expectant, but there was a hint of hostility so she knew that the monster was just faking his docility.

Unbeknownst to her, the goleter that was once arrogant and haughty, found himself in an unexpected position— reduced to the status of a pet, at the mercy of the human who had defeated him.

He had never expected himself to be brought down by a human, but here he is, sitting beside the one who captured him and was being treated quite well.

With the topic of receiving a name, he couldn’t help, but he a curious lad and looked over— however, when he saw that Coco was already looking at him, In an attempt to maintain some semblance of pride, the goleter turned away from Coco, pretending to be disinterested in her presence.

His frown deepened, unconsciously showing the conflicted emotions churning within him as he silently grappled with his new life.

Coco shot the goleter a small smile even though he couldn’t see before she turned her attention back to her breakfast, enjoying the rest of her pancakes.

In the meantime, Heiren busied himself with the task of washing the dirty dishes, his back turned away from her.

The room remained silent, broken only by the faint sounds of Heiren rinsing the plates and utensils, along with Foco finishing her meal in a comfortable silence while occasionally stealing occasional glances at the goleter still perched on the chair.

Coco could see the swirling thoughts of the monster through his red eyes, causing her to feel bad.

"It will be alright, buddy." She found herself assuring the stone monster and startling him. "I don’t eat cute creatures so you can rest assured, yeah?"

The goleter merely shot her a puzzled look, causing her to stand up from her chair, plate in hand, intending to take it to the sink to save herself from embarrassment because why did she say that?! But the sound of approaching footsteps from the hall captured her attention.

Her eyes flickered towards the entryway to the kitchen, her interest piqued.

The rhythmic footfalls echoed through the hall, drawing closer with each passing moment so Coco paused, her movements halted for the moment.

"Did Kairo leave already?" Coco asked, not looking away from the kitchen.

"I don’t know." Heiren answered. "I haven’t seen him since last night.. I’ll go and check up on him after I wash the dishes."

"Then that’s probably Alhai." Coco concluded.

As if to prove her right, Alhai entered the kitchen, his every step oozing charm and elegance— fresh and immaculate, looking like he had just stepped out of a fashion magazine due to how handsome he particularly looked.

"Good morning." He greeted them, walking over to the table and eyeing the plate in Coco’s hand. "Already finished breakfast, I see."

Coco cleared her throat and smiled warmly at Alhai. "Good morning, pretty boy."

His reaction was immediate with his cheeks becoming pinkish in response and before he could respond, however, she informed him of her impending departure.

"I’m about to head out soon." She hummed softly and gestured at the goleter who was peaking through the table. "I just need to think of a name for my little friend over there, then I’ll be off."

Alhai was slightly flustered, but managed to find his voice and replied. "Need any help with brainstorming names?"

Coco placed her dirty dish inside the sink, watching it settle beneath the water as she momentarily got lost in thought. "It’s fine, Alhai. I already have a name in mind."

Alhai leaned casually against the kitchen counter, his gaze flickering to the goleter sitting on the chair. "Well.. Do you mind telling us what the name is before you leave for work? I’m quite curious."

Coco blinked and flashed him a smirk. "Sure, the goleter will be named Richard— also known as Dick."

The mediator turned to her, completely surprised at the chosen name for the monster, but before they could comment on it, Coco burst out laughing.

"I’m just kidding! I won’t call him Dick—"
