CHAPTER 483: A RUINED MOMENT

Coco and Kairo both turned their heads at the sound of someone’s voice, their attention quickly drawn to the person who was approaching them.

They caught sight of Alhai, carrying a tray holding drinks and some pastries.

Coco’s face lit up as she noticed the tray in Alhai’s hands, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and slight hunger and of course, Kairo, too, perked up slightly, his gaze also shifting to the food and drinks.

Alhai let out a long exhale, his tone tinged with teasing, his gaze flickering to Kairo and Coco’s proximity. "I don’t mind you touching him at all."

He offered them a slight smile, a knowing glint in his eyes as he observed the scene before him and Coco could see that there was a hint of a mischievous twinkle there, as if he was secretly enjoying seeing the two interact so intimately.

Coco looked at Kairo, silently signaling him to stay put, making Kairo nod in response, understanding the unspoken request before turning to Alhai.

"Let’s go over there for a moment." She said, gesturing towards the gazebo nearby.

Coco walked with Alhai to the gazebo, leaving Kairo standing a short distance away and once they were seated, she wasted no time in addressing the matter on her mind.

Coco spoke firmly, her tone edged with defensiveness. "I was only comforting him, that’s all. I didn’t mean anything by it."

When she heard Alhai’s words earlier, she became upset.

The implication of his statement, the subtle hint of disapproval, had sent a ripple of irritation through her because why would he think that way? She suddenly felt the need to clarify her actions and justify her good intent gestures.

Alhai’s expression morphed into surprise, his eyebrow arching at her reaction.

He hadn’t been expecting her to feel so worked up about the situation so her words took him off guard, but he continued. "Considering how close you two are, Kairo would likely be the fifth addition to the family.. You understand the significance of your current behavior, right?"

"No, he won’t be added to the family." Coco denied firmly.

Alhai couldn’t help, but feel a pang of sadness as Coco disagreed, but understood her need for differentiation, however, he still couldn’t help the flicker of pain in his eyes at her words.

"Sorry." He replied quietly. "I didn’t know that it would set you off like this.. I apologize."

He looked at her, his gaze filled with devotion and longing— it was clear that he cherished their connection, despite the complexities of their current situation.. With Coco being a human from another world.

Coco’s frown deepened as she explained her perspective, her tone filled with aggravation. "I don’t currently want to be married to anyone."

"What do you mean?" Alhai asked, confused.

She took a moment, gathering her thoughts before continuing. "If— and it’s a big if, I were to consider taking another spouse, I would approach the matter with utmost seriousness and thoughtfulness. It would be a carefully thought-out decision, taking into account my feelings and the opinion of all involved."

Alhai stared at her and couldn’t help, but chuckle, a genuine smile spreading across his face as he gazed affectionately at Coco.

"This is one of the reasons why I adore and love you." He murmured, his voice laced with fondness. "You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever known and the fact that you know what you want only makes it sexier and more attractive to me."

Coco’s cheeks immediately turned a deep shade of red as she became flustered at the words she heard, her own words coming out in a jumbled mess.

She tried to speak, but found herself stammering. "I.. Uh, I see— I, uhm.."

Her heart thumped in her chest, her mind racing with embarrassment and flustered, jumbled thoughts as she attempted to form a coherent response, but the words caught in her throat, leaving her temporarily speechless.

"I.. You.." Was the only thing she could manage to utter, her voice slightly shaky, "I, uh.."

Alhai leaned down, his gaze locked with Coco’s, and gently caressed her warm cheek with his fingertips.

He could feel the heat of her cheek beneath his touch, causing his own desire to grow stronger and with a soft smile, he whispered. "May I kiss you, Coco? I can’t resist the urge to feel your lips against mine right now."

Coco’s lips merely parted, her heart pounding wildly in her chest as she struggled to form words.

She stumbled over her words first, nervousness and desire coursing through her veins causing her to hesitate, but as soon as she managed to stammer out a response, it was a breathy, barely audible whisper.

"Y.. Yes.. Yes.. Please?" She murmured, her voice shaking slightly as she looked up at him, revealing get eyes that were full of longing.

Alhai’s eyes widened slightly in surprise as he saw the look on Coco’s face, his breath catching in his throat.

Her expression was captivating, an intoxicating mix of desire and vulnerability that stirred something deep within him so unable to resist any longer— he leaned down, his gaze locked on her lips.

"You.. You’re unbelievably irresistible." He muttered before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.

Alhai’s hand quickly found its way to the back of Coco’s head, gently cupping it as he deepened the kiss, his fingers tangled in her hair, a gesture that was both tender and desperate at the same time.

He pulled her closer, his body pressing against hers as his lips moved against hers with growing intensity.

A low groan escaped his throat, dripping hunger and desire as their lips melded together in a heated embrace— more, more, more, that was the only thing running through his mind.

However, just as the kiss risked escalating, a sudden shout interrupted the moment. "Alhai! You bastard!"

Alhai’s lips reluctantly pulled away from Coco’s as he heard the familiar voice calling out. "Damn it.. Why must someone always ruin the moment?"
