CHAPTER 542: STRANGE MAN

Coco was disgusted, but there was a sense of curiosity that tempted her to witness the disturbing sight further.

However, whoever was behind her reached around her head and covered her eyes with their hand, preventing her from viewing the bizarre sight, which was accompanied by a grumble.

"It is best if you do not watch." The person advised. "This is a sight that only those with exceptionally strong stomachs can tolerate, and clearly, you’re not one of them."

"Leo." The woman called, her voice edged with a warning.

Coco remained silent, her body tense as the strange substance slowly made its way to her wound and once the gooey substance came into contact with her injured area, Coco couldn’t help but shiver, revulsion coursing through her.

"What— what is it doing?! Is it eating me?!" Coco screeched, her voice trembled as she voiced her concerns, her words tinged with fear and disgust.

"Yes, and no.." The woman answered, her voice dripping with reluctance. "It’s eating you, but not actually you.. It’s healing you, let’s just say— I’m sorry, I really don’t know how to put it in words."

The woman’s words were vague, leaving Coco to wonder how the substance could consume something and heal it simultaneously.

However, Coco clamped her teeth down on her tongue, stifling any screams of terror or protest that might have escaped her lips and was feeling thankful for the person behind her continuing to shield her eyes.

The strange substance continued its work— the sensation was disgusting at first, but Coco found herself slowly relaxing.

The healing process felt slow, a torment in its own right.

Coco’s consciousness slipped away as she sat still to let the woman heal her, but then, she slowly became aware of her surroundings once more.

Her eyelids flickered open, the world coming into focus and she quickly found herself being carried in someone’s strong arms once again, ultimately making her lean onto the person.

The feeling was comforting because she remembered being carried like this by Alhai once.

Coco groaned softly, her voice whispering as she called out. "Alhai..?"

Confusion and disorientation filled her mind as she tried to piece together the events leading up to this moment and assumed that, maybe, it was all a dream.

However, instead of the expected response of the silver haired mediator, she was met with a scoff that seemed to emanate from the person carrying her.

The sound was harsh and unfamiliar, lacking any connection to her husband, leaving Coco even more puzzled.

"Does that name belong to your husband?"

Another voice piped up in response to the question, the woman’s familiar tone bringing recognition to Coco’s foggy mind.

When the words reached her ears, Coco’s brain registered the familiar voice.

The pieces began falling into place, the puzzle of her situation slowly coming together in the back of her head.

Coco’s gaze flicked up, her face contorting in disdain when the face of the woman she expected to see wasn’t the face she saw— there was Leo, the humanized pig that attacked her.

Coco’s expression shifted, showing her surprise and annoyance.

"You motherfucke—" Coco growled and was ready to pounce on the humanized pig that was carrying her, but the monster had the audacity to cut her off.

"Shut up." Leo hissed, his eyes squinting into a nasty glare. "You’re heavy and you’re ugly—"

Just as Leo was about to make another insulting remark, a sudden disturbance in front of them had caught everyone’s attention.

Something had appeared in the sky before it descended with a forceful impact on the ground that sent a cloud of dust and debris around the area.

Leo’s words quickly died on his lips as the unexpected situation drew his gaze and attention away from Coco, leaving her to crane her neck to see what had caused such a commotion.

As the dust cloud stirred up by the mysterious arrival still hung in the air, a large boulder came hurtling towards the direction where Coco, Leo, and the woman were standing.

Without hesitation, Leo rushed forward, hurrying to reach the woman and abandoned Coco.

Just as it seemed inevitable that Coco would drop onto the ground, another pair of strong arms darted out and caught her, preventing her from falling.

Coco gasped in fear as she found herself saved from hitting the ground, her fear momentarily freezing her, but her eyes darted on the person who had caught her.

His appearance consists of a sickly pale skin, crimson eyes, and snowy white locks of hair.

The uncanny familiarity of his features from the man who had appeared months ago sent a chill down her spine, reigniting memories she had tried to dismiss as a mere hallucination.

"You.. You’re the—" Coco gasped, but before she could finish her words, the man holding her in his strong grip suddenly leaped into the air, a large boulder materializing in his free hand.

Coco’s eyes widened, her mouth agape in shock.

"You pig!" The man seethed as he bellowed, his voice booming in the air as he addressed the humanized flying pig. "How dare you hurt my puny human?!"

The man’s voice rang with raw anger, a growl that sent shivers down Coco’s spine.

With a powerful throw, the man hurled the enormous boulder directly towards the direction where the woman and the humanized flying pig stood.

Coco was confused about what was happening, but the moment she saw the boulder heading towards the woman who helped her..

She gasped and grabbed the man’s white locks in panic, her eyes wide. "Stop, stop, STOP—"

In the middle of the confusing chaos, Coco’s voice cut through the air, sharp and desperate. "Stop! Please! Don’t hurt that woman!"

The man growled and turned to Coco, his eyes flaring with anger. "Why not?! That pig hurt you, and she’s his master—"

However, Coco’s grip tightened around the man’s hair and tugged on them roughly which successfully silenced him.

"SHE HEALED ME, IDIOT!" Coco screamed, her words rang with urgency
