He frowned, sharp brows knitting: “But your body…”
“Get me some ice.”
“Yes.”
Justin turned to the kitchen fridge to get ice.
A bag of ice dumped into the bathtub brought biting cold that eased Maureen’s difort.
Justin fetched the first–aid kit.
“Thank you.”
Maureen said sincerely.
Justin stayed silent, walking to the doorway to stand guard quietly.
He also updated Gareth that she was safe.
Earlier, Maureen had hung up on Roy Ramirez’s call, making Roy fear something was wrong, so he contacted Gareth.
When Gareth called Maureen and got no answer, he sent Justin to check on her.
An hourter.
The drug’s effects finally faded.
Maureen applied ointment, changed clothes, and stepped out of the bathroom.
Justin still waited outside.
“You’ve been a big help tonight. Go rest.”
She spoke weakly.
“Okay.”
Justin nced at her, then turned and left.
After he left, seeing howte it was, Maureen sent a voice message to Zoe and the others to reassure them.
Meanwhile,
Back at Pearl, Geoffrey couldn’t sleep.

He stood on the balcony smoking, Maureen’s earlier actions reying in his mind–her graceful figure vivid before his
eyes.
Geoffrey’s throat went dry. Unaware, the cigarette burned down to his fingers before he snapped back to reality.
After a sleepless night, Geoffrey arrived at thepany early the next morning.
Wayne reported work to him as usual.
Geoffrey listened absentmindedly, then suddenly asked: “Has Maureene?”
Wayne paused, then shook his head.
“I heard she’s sick, so she didn’te.”
Sick?
“Keep an eye on her. Remember, absolutely don’t let her run away.”
Geoffrey instructed.
“Yes.”
When Wayne was leaving, he bumped into Andrea, dressed in custom designer clothes and looking exquisite.
“Wayne, who can’t be allowed to run away?”
Victor walked into the Johnson estate and saw the butler talking with Dr. Sophia.
She quickly tugged his sleeve, her voice teary: “You can’t just leave me!”
The moonlight cast shadows through the carved windowttice.
Andrea happened to catch thest remark, finding it odd.
Wayne wasn’t one to meddle, so after teasing a bit, he didn’t mention Maureen’s return to Andrea.
Andrea tactfully dropped the subject but quietly resented Wayne, heading straight for Geoffrey.
“Geoffrey, Memorial Day Weekend’sing up. Mom wants us over for dinner tonight.”
The “mom” Andrea referred to was Geoffrey’s mother.
No doubt another push for them to marry and have kids soon.
Geoffrey didn’t look up. “I know.”
Hearing this, Andrea settled onto the office sofa.
“I’m free today. I’ll wait here.”
The whole day?

Geoffrey narrowed his eyes at her. “Are you that free?”
Andrea froze.
Before she could respond, Geoffrey added coldly, “I don’t like outsiders around when I’m working.”
Andrea was stunned into silence.
She stood. “I’ll wait outside then.”
Geoffrey gave no reply.
Andrea left the office reluctantly.
Whether during their past rtionship or now, Geoffrey remained this cold and distant.
Only Maureen could ept such a man unconditionally.
While taking a walk outside, Andrea noticed Sean’s office stoodpletely empty.
She asked the secretary, “Has Sean not beeningtely?”
“Old Mr. Albert is arranging Sean’s marriage these days, so he hasn’t shown up.‘
The secretary answered truthfully.
Marriage?
Andrea felt her heart drop.
Sean had refused Old Mr. Albert more than once for Andrea’s sake.
Now learning about his arranged marriage, Andrea felt a pang in her heart.
“Do you know who the other party is?”
Andrea inquired.
Hearing this, the secretary pondered briefly: “The Robsons are selecting a granddaughter–inw. It seems like an open audition. Ordinary women definitely wouldn’t catch the old master’s eye.”
Open audition?
So it’s not finalized yet?
Andrea felt a bit more at ease.
She went to her private lounge and couldn’t resist calling Sean.
Having known him for years, he’d never been angry with her.
His coldness these past four years surely had a reason.

She needed to get to the bottom of this.
Meanwhile, near Beverly Hills Vi Estate, inside an understated business car, Sean gazed out the window eyes: “She lives here?”
His apanying bodyguard replied respectfully: “Yes.”
Just as Sean was about to ask more, his phone rang. He nced at it–Andrea was calling.
All these years, his restraint toward Andrea stemmed solely from Geoffrey.
If not for Geoffrey’s affection for her!
she would’ve been gone from this world long ago.
Now calling herself?
Sean wondered if she’d heard about Maureen’s return. He picked up: “What is it?”
Andrea could hardly believe it. Before, every time she called Sean, he’d hung up immediately.
“Sean, I heard your grandfather is arranging a marriage for you?”
Sean arched an eyebrow: “You seem quite interested in my personal affairs?”
His detached, icy tone made Andrea’s stomach churn.
“We’re friends. Of course I care. I don’t want you to fall for the wrong person.”
