No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother
Chapter 245 - 243: My Name is Grace Hanson
CHAPTER 245: CHAPTER 243: MY NAME IS GRACE HANSON
Christopher was somewhat surprised when he saw Maya Spencer.
She was wearing a professional suit, looking very efficient. Christopher squinted his eyes and examined her several times, exclaiming, "Sweetheart, just a few days without seeing you and you’re almost unrecognizable. It seems Aron is serious about grooming you as his successor."
Maya listened to Christopher’s words, raised the corners of her mouth into a smile, and said, "Indeed! I still need to learn well from Young Master Scott."
Maya was very clear about her feelings, even though she had a falling out with Liam Spencer, she was still welcoming to his friends with a smile, thinking that she might still have the chance to pull them into her camp.
"Sweetheart, you’re flattering me too much. Don’t you have a ready-made third brother in your family?" Christopher obviously knew about the heated conflict between Liam and Maya in recent days, but still deliberately brought up Liam.
"Haha! Young Master Scott is joking." At this moment, Maya’s smile was somewhat awkward, thinking that Christopher was really annoying for bringing up sensitive topics.
Christopher saw Maya’s awkward smile and wanted to explain something to her, but Kinsley Spencer suddenly appeared.
At that moment, Christopher’s expression changed, and the smile on his lips became extremely awkward. Just imagining Liam calling Maya "sister-in-law" made him get goosebumps all over.
In recent days, Maya and Kinsley had joined forces to intercept several projects of the Owen Clan. Now, the two appeared together in front of Liam, and Christopher couldn’t imagine how much anger Liam had accumulated.
When Kinsley approached behind Maya, he didn’t have any physical contact with her, just lightly called out, "Maya, isn’t Aron coming today?"
"My uncle is busy, so I’m here to replace him."
Everyone was surprised at Maya’s attendance at the business event, thinking she was the successor being groomed by Aron.
However, Christopher was focused on their conversation. Looking at Kinsley’s surprise, he could instantly see that their communication wasn’t much, or otherwise why would Kinsley be surprised Aron didn’t come?
He thought Maya married Kinsley deliberately to oppose Liam, and his heart palpitated with cold sweat, hoping his Seven would be softer and not have the same strong-willed character as Maya.
Not far away, Liam watched as Christopher and the others chatted casually, while Maya smiled and conversed with others, feeling uneasy.
Especially when he recalled Maya and Kinsley joining forces to intercept his projects and thought about them getting married soon, he felt even more uncomfortable. Even though knowing Maya was just opposing him and didn’t truly want to marry Kinsley, he still felt distressed.
So he started walking slowly towards them, thinking to confront them and see how capable they really are.
Meanwhile, he dialed Elijah Reed and instructed, "Elijah, keep an eye on the projects Maya is handling and nip her arrogance in the bud."
For the past few days, Liam hadn’t retaliated against Maya’s antics, because he felt guilty about the engagement issue, so he indulged her.
What bothered him was that Maya’s style of handling things was completely different from Aron, but more like Lillian Morris.
He took a deep breath, remembered Lillian Morris’s composed face, recalled how Maya hid in his apartment three years ago, and remembered what he had said to him. Liam’s expression turned extremely unpleasant.
Thinking, the person he should be concerned about wasn’t Kinsley, but Lillian Morris.
"Third Brother!" When Liam walked up to Maya, Christopher immediately withdrew his smile and seriously called out to him.
Kinsley watched the man’s arrival, slightly raised the corners of his mouth, nodded at him, thinking about his cooperation with Maya. He was surprised that Liam hadn’t taken any retaliatory actions, allowing them to take advantage of several big deals.
Liam glanced at Christopher and Kinsley’s greetings and chose to directly ignore them, instead staring intensely at Maya.
Maya looked at the man’s sharp gaze, took a deep breath, rolled her eyes nonchalantly at him, and prepared to turn and leave.
At this moment, a few collaborators from the Hanson Clan walked over and blocked her path.
"President Smith, President Lopez, good morning!" Maya’s greeting smile was very official, as if she was already a veteran in business, even though she hardly knew anything.
"Miss Hanson is young and smart, indeed the Hanson Family is full of talent," one of the men complimented politely, while the others went to flatter Liam.
"President Smith overpraises." Maya’s expression was a forced smile, and she responded officially.
The man looked at Maya’s polite smile, frowned, with a heavy mind, indecisively as if there was something embarrassing he wanted to ask of her.
Maya looked at the man’s troubled expression and smiled, saying, "President Smith, is there something you’d like to talk about?"
"Oh, nothing much. Just a small curiosity. Why do Miss Hanson’s friends call you Maya privately? Does Miss Hanson’s name happen to be Maya Hanson?" The man’s perplexing question was also many others’ perplexity.
After all, three years ago, the fact that she was the fifth miss of the Spencer Family was not widely known.
Maya was stunned by the man’s question, not realizing everyone would be curious about her name.
When she returned to the Hanson Family, she indeed changed her name and household registration, but her friends still called her Maya because they were used to it, and she was also used to it.
Then she gently turned her head to glance at Liam, despite the man chatting with others she knew he could hear her speaking.
So, she nonchalantly smiled at the man surnamed Zhang and explained, "Maya is my nickname, my full name is Grace Hanson."
As soon as Maya’s words fell, Liam, Christopher, and Kinsley all froze.
Christopher cursed in his heart, "Damn, could this be real? How can it be so coincidental?"
Liam was completely dumbfounded, never expecting to hear the name Grace from Maya’s mouth, his breath almost stopped.
"Grace, a good name, just like Miss Hanson herself, elegant and sophisticated." The man listened to Maya’s self-introduction and continued to flatter.
However, Maya glanced at Liam out of the corner of her eye, observing the man’s pale, shocked appearance, she couldn’t help but laugh coldly.
Actually, she wasn’t called by that name but mentioned Grace deliberately in front of Liam to see his reaction.
Wasn’t he always mistaking her for Grace? He vented his hatred on her and even imposed his kindness on her. Since that was the case, she intentionally went against him, refusing to be a substitute for Grace.
Moments later, Liam emerged from the daze caused by the name Grace, immediately stepped forward, grabbed Maya’s wrist, and forcibly pulled her away.
At that moment, he seemed to understand why this guy was so angry and insisted on opposing him.
Kinsley saw Maya being forcibly grabbed, reached out to pull her back, but was stopped by Christopher.
He said, "Second Young Master, Maya and Third Brother need to have some things clarified, you’d better not get involved."
Kinsley listened to Christopher’s advice, looked at Liam’s full of surprise expression, basically also guessed the reason behind Maya’s anger, so he didn’t chase after them because Maya had the right to know the truth.
