No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother
Chapter 249 - 247: Don’t Take Maya Spencer for a Fool
CHAPTER 249: CHAPTER 247: DON’T TAKE MAYA SPENCER FOR A FOOL
Christopher Scott listened to Maya Spencer’s question, glanced at Liam Spencer, and said nervously, "He’s still lying on the ground, no matter how we call him, he won’t wake up. His breathing is very weak, and I don’t know if he can hold on until the doctor arrives."
After he finished speaking, he deliberately shouted twice, "Third Brother, wake up!"
"Third Brother, how are you?"
Beside him, Liam Spencer watched Christopher Scott’s acting and rolled his eyes at him fiercely.
Maya Spencer listened to Christopher Scott’s report, and her originally trembling body shook even more violently. Even her voice was shaking as she spoke, "I’ve already called 120; the ambulance will be there soon. Christopher, don’t move him now, and try to apply ice packs on both sides of his head."
"Won’t that freeze his brain?" Christopher Scott asked in surprise.
"No, it’s to temporarily stop the bleeding." Maya’s voice trembled more and more.
Liam Spencer listened to someone’s ’concern,’ and for a moment, his mood improved a lot. He vaguely felt that Maya still cared about him.
However, just as he was feeling comfortable, Maya said, "Christopher, I didn’t mean to hit him; I was just acting in self-defense. If something really happens, you must testify for me. I didn’t intend to murder him. If I really wanted to kill him, I wouldn’t have called you."
As soon as Maya’s words fell, someone’s heart turned cold; it turned out she was afraid of bearing legal responsibility.
Holding the phone on the side, Christopher Scott saw someone’s expression change and almost burst out laughing. Fortunately, at the critical moment, he held back and said seriously, "I can’t really testify to that! After all, I wasn’t on the scene, but I will truthfully tell the police that you called me to inform me."
"Hmm! Thank you!" Maya said and then hung up the phone.
In the car, her hands were gripping the steering wheel tightly, but she was still trembling uncontrollably. Her mind was filled with the image of Liam’s face covered in blood.
She swallowed a mouthful of saliva, finding her heart pounding in her throat.
At this moment, the vehicle behind her honked the horn, urging her to speed up.
Maya heard the horn behind her and quickly lifted her head to check the rearview mirror, wanting to see what was going on behind her. Unexpectedly, she saw herself covered in blood in the mirror.
Instantly, she screamed in fright, her body suddenly tensed, and her left foot on the gas pedal involuntarily pressed down to the floor, then with a "bang," she crashed into the highway barrier.
Immediately after, the car behind her couldn’t react in time and rear-ended her vehicle.
For a moment, Maya was completely bewildered, powerless and slumped over the steering wheel. Fortunately, the airbag deployed, keeping her from being thrown out of the car.
When she looked up at the front, she saw Liam’s face, covered in blood, on the windshield.
She thought, Liam wouldn’t already be dead, right? So he came to seek revenge, to take her with him! But she didn’t want to die yet.
She wanted to use her willpower to push open the car door, but found her entire body was numb and had no sensation. Then, her vision went black, and as her eyelids closed, she saw Liam again.
At the same time, in the business club, Liam didn’t wait for the ambulance. He just let Christopher drive him to the hospital to treat his wounds.
After the doctor treated his wounds, he was asked to stay in the hospital for further observation.
Christopher watched Liam with his head wrapped in bandages, struggling not to laugh. How surprising that the esteemed third young master of the Owen Clan Group was beaten into the hospital by that Maya fellow.
On the hospital bed, Liam saw someone snickering and grabbed the pillow from behind him, throwing it hard at him, saying, "Call Maya and tell her I’m fine."
Upon receiving the order, Christopher quickly took out his phone and dialed Maya’s number, but she didn’t pick up even after the ringtone ended.
After that, he called several times again, but still couldn’t get through.
At that moment, Liam glanced at the outside of the ward and said, "Go out and see if she’s hiding at the door."
Based on his understanding of Maya, Liam guessed she must be afraid of taking responsibility and wanted to confirm in person whether he was okay, and was hiding outside the ward to peek at him.
As Christopher opened the door, he happened to run into Asher Norton, who hurriedly asked, "Where’s Third Brother?"
Christopher looked at the hurried Asher with nonchalance and said, "Why are you panicking? He’s fine."
"He’s fine, but something happened to Maya. Maya was just in a car accident on the highway." Asher reported the news nervously, afraid that someone would go crazy.
Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, Liam suddenly jumped up from the bed and rushed to Asher, grabbing his collar and asking, "What did you say?"
"Maya just crashed into the barrier on the highway and was rear-ended by the car behind. She’s just been sent to the operating room, in this hospital." Asher tried to calmly explain the situation.
Listening to his report, Liam immediately let go of him and ran toward Maya’s operating room.
Christopher stood dumbfounded in the ward, thinking, could it be that his nonsense just now harmed Maya!?
He swallowed a mouthful of saliva and found his legs trembling, thinking to himself, ’Dear heart, please don’t let anything happen. If something really happens, I won’t have a peaceful life for the rest of my days.’
Asher looked at Christopher’s dazed look, furrowed his brow, and said, "Why are you still standing there? Go and check the situation."
Hearing Asher’s words, Christopher snapped back to reality and followed him to the operating room.
As soon as the two of them arrived at the door of the operating room, they saw Aron Hanson grabbing Liam’s collar and pinning him against the wall, warning, "Liam, if anything happens to Maya, I won’t let you off."
Maya has always been a cautious driver, valuing her life. If she wasn’t facing something troubling, or in a bad mood, she wouldn’t have had an accident.
However, today, she went to attend an industry conference, and the only person there who could provoke her emotions was Liam. So, this car accident couldn’t be separated from Liam’s responsibility.
Listening to Aron’s warning, Liam pulled his big hand away and fiercely stared at him, questioning, "Who allowed you to take it upon yourself to let Maya go to work at the company and attend business meetings? Don’t take Maya for a fool. Don’t think she doesn’t know anything; she just doesn’t say it."
Aron listened to the implied warning in the man’s words and immediately lost half his edge. He said, "The one treating Maya like a fool is you. If it weren’t for you, she wouldn’t have had a car accident."
"Third Brother, Young Master Hanson, stop arguing. They’re still resuscitating inside." Seeing this, Christopher and Asher immediately pulled them apart.
Just then, the doctor who had just gone inside came out early, and Christopher rushed forward to ask, "How is Miss Hanson?"
"Still undergoing examination, but the blood loss is a bit too much. We’ll know more about the situation in a while."
Liam stood aside, listening to the doctor’s words, and his intestines were full of regret. If he had known Maya would get into a car accident, he wouldn’t have bullied her, causing her to be so frightened as to drive away.
