No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother
Chapter 251 - 249: Are You Having Fun Like This?
CHAPTER 251: CHAPTER 249: ARE YOU HAVING FUN LIKE THIS?
At this point, Christopher Scott jumped in and said, "Big brother, you just don’t understand. Our third brother is playing hard to get."
Overall, it was essentially this idea. If Maya Spencer continued to be arrogant, Liam Spencer feared she would become too conceited, so it was necessary to dampen her spirits and let her know that even if she teamed up with Kinsley Spencer, they were no match for him. He could easily defeat them completely.
"I hope it doesn’t backfire," Lucas Shaw sighed helplessly. He felt that their relationship was a bit precarious. If things continued like this, Maya Spencer and Kinsley Spencer’s marriage was inevitable. Hoping for Maya to change her mind was as difficult as reaching for the moon.
So ultimately, Liam Spencer would definitely resort to extreme measures, and the two would end up clashing.
After a bit of small talk, they went to visit Maya Spencer in her hospital room.
At that moment, Maya Spencer was staring blankly while lying in bed.
When she saw Christopher Scott and the others come in, she quickly sat up in bed, glared at Christopher Scott, but didn’t say a word.
Christopher Scott could tell what she wanted to ask just from her glance, without her needing to open her mouth.
So, before Maya could speak, he took the initiative to say, "Third brother is already awake and his condition is not serious. You don’t have to worry about committing any crimes."
"Oh!" Maya Spencer felt a huge sense of relief after hearing the news but tried to maintain her composure.
"Do you want to go see third brother?" Christopher Scott knew that Maya was worried about Liam Spencer, at least she didn’t want him dead, so he seized the opportunity to suggest she visit Liam Spencer to ease the tension between them.
However, Maya just coldly replied, "I’m not going." She had no interest in visiting Liam Spencer while he was sick.
Even though she had a nightmare last night and regretted hitting him on the head.
But if she hadn’t hit him, she might have been devoured by that guy again! Ever since she knew about Grace, she no longer wanted any physical interaction with Liam Spencer.
Meanwhile, in Liam Spencer’s hospital room, he was just turning on the TV when Charlotte Owen arrived.
Liam Spencer looked at her figure with an unhappy face. He still held resentment over the engagement, as Lydia Jones hadn’t shown up earlier or later, but precisely at the last minute before his engagement, clearly orchestrated by Charlotte Owen.
So, he gave Charlotte Owen a cold glare and turned up the TV volume to ignore her presence.
Upon seeing this, Charlotte took a deep breath and went to the TV cabinet, yank the power cord.
"Aunt Charlotte, is there any point in doing this?" Liam Spencer looked directly into her eyes, questioning her as she stood there angrily.
"Are you out of your mind? You dare want a woman who put you in the hospital?" After what happened yesterday, Charlotte Owen harbored an even deeper grudge against Maya Spencer.
Originally, she was indifferent to Maya; three years ago abroad, she’d heard about the two of them but chose not to get involved because she trusted Liam’s judgment. However, she hadn’t expected Maya to have an abortion.
As a result, Maya went onto her blacklist—dream on if she wanted to marry Liam. As long as Charlotte was around, she’d thwart it at every turn. Besides, she’d only been back a few days and had already gotten Liam to sign a 200 billion contract, which made her even less favorable.
"Mind your own business, will you? Go back to wherever you came from." Liam rarely spoke so rudely to an elder.
"Liam, I’m telling you, with your mother gone, I am your mother, and I have to be responsible for you. Be with anyone you want, just not Maya. Who does she think she is, daring to throw away a child with Owen blood!" Charlotte Owen’s arrogance was no less than Liam’s.
After all, she wasn’t one of the involved parties, so she’d carry this grudge for life.
As Charlotte Owen brought up old matters, Liam Spencer frowned. Recently, after seeing Maya, he had indeed put the child’s issue out of his mind. Even when he did think of it, he reassured himself that it would happen in the future.
Now, lambasted by Charlotte, he felt uncomfortable, though it didn’t shake his resolve towards Maya.
So he retorted coldly, "I will take responsibility for myself. As long as I like her, that’s enough. No matter what she does, I will accept it."
Listening to Liam’s protective words, Charlotte was so furious she could explode. She had never seen him so irrational, especially for a woman. The more protective he was, the less acceptable Maya became to her.
"Aunt Summer, you’re here too," Hartley Shaw suddenly entered while the argument was boiling, carrying bags full of things.
Seeing this, Charlotte Owen ceased their bickering. She didn’t want any other girl seeing the depth of Liam’s feelings for Maya because, to her, anyone was a better choice than Maya. She’d rather accept Hartley Shaw than Maya, so she wouldn’t let Hartley see Liam’s affection for Maya.
So she immediately smiled cheerfully and said, "Little Hartley, you came! You’re so thoughtful, bringing so many things. It’s a blessing my Liam gets such a good wife as you."
The implication in Charlotte Owen’s words was a hint to Hartley, signaling whose side she was on, encouraging her not to hold back and to pursue whatever she wanted.
The girl, flattered by Charlotte’s praise, beamed as she placed her things on the table, quickly opened a lunch box, sniffed deeply, and said, "Aunt Summer, don’t joke. Third Young Master already has someone in his heart; I’m afraid I don’t have such luck."
Unfazed by Hartley’s polite refusal, Charlotte replied, "In whose heart? He let go of Grace long ago; he’s been single these years, waiting for a wise girl like you to appear."
Then she added, "Little Hartley, you’re quite skilled now; the soup smells delicious."
"It’s okay, though I’m not sure if Third Young Master will like it," the girl kept smiling, which made her seem more appealing compared to Maya’s cold demeanor.
On the side, Liam felt a headache listening to the two women’s duet. He’d rather bicker with Maya than be paired with Hartley by Charlotte Owen.
Next, Hartley, holding a bowl of soup, approached him and said, "Third brother, haven’t had breakfast yet? Try the soup I made."
Hearing her words, Liam turned around and glanced at her without speaking or reaching for the soup.
Seeing this, Charlotte quickly put on a smiling face and said, "Little Hartley, if you’re not busy, stay here with Liam for a bit. I have to go tend to some things."
Actually, besides spending money, she hardly had anything to do. She left only to give the two some space.
"That Maya is really heavy-handed." After Charlotte left, Hartley looked at the bandages on Liam’s head and scolded with concern.
"You should leave. I want to be alone." Liam didn’t want to deal with her anymore, so he told her to go.
The girl didn’t mind his words, playfully saying, "I’m Hartley, you don’t need to overthink, just look at me."
