CHAPTER 367: CHAPTER 365 SHE WAS WRONGED [5 MORE UPDATES]
Liam Spencer looked at the girl’s back, took a deep breath, feeling a bit confused. Could it be that Maya Spencer stayed by his side really just to protect the Morris Family? Didn’t she have even the slightest bit of feeling for him?
Although he really wanted to understand Maya Spencer’s thoughts, he was afraid to face the truth. So, he scratched his head and comforted himself: It’s good that she’s back, good that she’s by your side.
Under the shower in the bathroom, Maya thoughts about Liam Spencer’s cold attitude, she felt very upset inside.
Even though Liam Spencer wasn’t angry with her, his attitude was so cold that it still made her fearful, feeling like he could explode at any moment.
She missed the Liam Spencer from before today, the one who would smile at her, hug her, the gentle Liam Spencer.
At this moment, Maya felt very hollow inside. She needed some passion, some care, some warmth to fill her confusion.
She disliked this feeling of worry and fear, constantly watching Liam Spencer’s every move, her heart was very tired.
When she came out of the bathroom, Liam Spencer was busy with work in the bedroom study. Maya didn’t dare disturb him and just sat on the bed, staring at him through the crack of the door.
This calm after the storm also made her scared. She even regretted the request she made earlier, for him to be quiet, to ease up for a couple of days, instead hoping Liam Spencer would give her a straightforward reaction and let her die swiftly.
Half an hour later, Aunt Smith knocked on the bedroom door, reminding Liam Spencer, "Young master, lunch is ready."
"Mm!" Liam Spencer responded, shut off the information on the computer, stood up from the desk, and walked toward the bedroom.
On the big bed in the bedroom, Maya watched as Liam Spencer approached the bedroom through the crack of the folding door, immediately collapsed on the bed, closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.
"Swish, swish, swish..." Right after, she heard the sound of the door being drawn open, and heard Liam Spencer’s footsteps approaching her.
"Maya, get up and eat." The man’s voice was very gentle, revealing no emotion; neither anger nor happiness.
To make her pretend sleep more believable, Maya didn’t wake up immediately but gently turned over, continued to lie on the bed pretending to sleep.
"Smack!" Subsequently, her butt got smacked, and she heard Liam Spencer say, "What are you pretending for? You’ve been watching me for so long, can you really sleep?"
Although Liam Spencer’s tone was still very calm, the words already showed that his mood seemed slightly better than before.
Seeing her pretend sleep exposed, Maya felt a bit embarrassed and didn’t force the act anymore, immediately turned over to face Liam Spencer’s eyes.
"Get up!" Liam Spencer looked at her innocent big eyes and said coldly.
Maya looked at the man’s attitude cooling down again, immediately stretched out her small hands, grabbed his hand tightly in her arms and wouldn’t let go.
That’s right! She was indeed acting coy; even she was surprised, never expecting herself to hold him back.
When Lillian Morris was taken away, she didn’t hold back, but when Liam Spencer was unhappy, she cared about it, wanted to keep him, and coax him.
Liam Spencer saw her attempt to keep him, all of a sudden, the sadness in his heart wasn’t so severe, just took a deep breath, pulled his big hand from her arms, rubbed her small face, saying, "You’ve not eaten anything all day, get up to eat."
"Mm!" Feeling the man’s calm concern, Maya was afraid she’d mess around further and he’d get unhappy, so she jumped up from the bed, put on slippers, and walked out of the bedroom.
Listening to the girl’s obedience to him, Liam Spencer wondered, if at the airport earlier, he had told Maya Spencer to come home with him, would she have rushed over?
However, time passed, and now he had no chance to perform this experiment.
When he raised his head to look at Maya, she happened to turn around and asked seriously, "Aren’t you hungry? Aren’t you going downstairs to eat?"
Actually, Maya had no appetite to eat, but to make Liam Spencer happy, she listened to him.
Liam Spencer listened to the girl’s question, slowly stood up from the bed, and walked toward the door.
At the dining table, Maya drank the sweet soup in her bowl while secretly watching Liam Spencer with the corner of her eyes. When she noticed Liam Spencer looking at her, she gave him a restrained smile.
Liam Spencer looked at the girl’s accommodating smile and said calmly, "If you’re not happy, you don’t need to smile at me."
Sprayed by Liam Spencer’s words, Maya was speechless, no longer secretly looked at him, but lowered her head and focused on eating snacks.
They interacted indifferently, without any resolution until the evening. Maya paid attention to Liam Spencer’s mood, he remained cold.
She saw him working at the desk and couldn’t help but worry, worried whether he was pondering revenge against Lillian Morris.
The more she thought, the more she proactively watched Liam Spencer, hoping to deduce some clues from his eyes, but to no avail, she saw nothing.
In the evening, because they both had eaten in the afternoon, neither Maya nor Liam Spencer went downstairs to eat.
In the bedroom, they spent the entire afternoon together but didn’t say a word.
This Liam Spencer was unpredictable to Maya; at the airport, he had called her home gently, and in the car, he had kissed her. Why did he change when they got home, ignoring her?
Could it be he regretted bringing her back? Did he already find her annoying and tiresome? So she kept reflecting, thinking about asking Liam Spencer for an explanation, to see what he really thought.
In the past, Maya was skilled at silent treatment, ignoring Liam Spencer for one or two months didn’t bother her; but when Liam Spencer gave her the silent treatment, only half a day, she couldn’t stand it.
So, when Liam Spencer finished work and returned to bed to sleep, Maya suddenly climbed up from bed, stared into his eyes, and asked seriously, "Liam Spencer, do you regret bringing me back?"
Listening to the girl’s question, Liam Spencer was momentarily stunned, did not respond to her question.
Liam Spencer’s silence made Maya more restless, she pulled Liam Spencer’s arm, unwillingly asked, "If you regret bringing me back, I can go back now."
"Is it me who regrets, or is it you?" Liam Spencer, seeing her persistence, only then turned around, stared into her eyes, and very seriously countered.
Maya was shocked by Liam Spencer’s sharp eyes, immediately released her hand from his arm, stepped back a few steps, with red eyes, pouted with complaint, looking at Liam Spencer.
She felt so wronged, couldn’t he see she’d been looking at him, trying to be nice to him all along? Why did he have to look at her so sternly?
She knew she shouldn’t have boarded the plane today, shouldn’t have been moved by Lillian Morris’s confession.
But she’s an emotional person; even when watching TV dramas, she’d feel moved. Facing the confession of her secret crush, feeling a bit emotional was only natural!
Besides, she had always rejected this matter, always wanted to return, she never felt like betraying him inwardly; so facing Liam Spencer’s attitude, she felt wronged.
