CHAPTER 382: CHAPTER 380 DEMANDING JUSTICE [5 UPDATES]
Ella listened to Maya Spencer’s concern and instantly felt even more aggrieved. Her pouting mouth curled up higher, and the tears she had painstakingly held back started to fall again.
Seeing Ella cry, Maya felt even more distressed and immediately wiped her tears, asking, "What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly crying? Who bullied you? I’ll deal with them for you."
Although Maya and Ella hadn’t known each other for long, just a few months, their friendship was as deep as childhood friends.
In school, Ella had accompanied her in fights, and now that Ella was wronged, she naturally wanted to protect her. Besides, this friend had taken the trouble to get her close to Lillian Morris to pursue happiness.
How could she not feel for such a friend?
"Maya! Waa..." Looking at Maya, who hadn’t left, Ella started to cry loudly.
Seeing this, Maya immediately pulled her into her arms, holding her with her left hand and wiping her tears with her right, asking, "What happened?"
It was then that Ella removed her hands from her face, sniffling as she complained, "Elijah Reed bit me, bit my face."
Maya looked at the bite mark on Ella’s face, confused and puzzled.
But as she regained her composure, she suddenly wanted to laugh. Though she knew it was inappropriate, she couldn’t help it when she imagined Elijah Reed biting Ella’s face.
"Pfft..." In the end, she couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing.
"Maya, you’re laughing at me. I got bitten for your sake, and you’re laughing?" Ella, seeing Maya laughing at her, immediately stopped crying, raised her little hand to push Maya away, refusing to be held.
Maya, touching the bite mark on Ella’s face, furrowed her brow and asked, "Did you call Elijah a dog?"
"But he’s always meddling," Ella retorted indignantly.
"Uh-huh! Does it still hurt? Let’s go to the hospital to check it out," Maya said, feeling sorry.
"It doesn’t hurt anymore. You should tell me why you didn’t leave. That’s more important. And you didn’t call me in advance; I’ve been hiding in my brother’s apartment, afraid to go out, and I even cut my hair," Ella muttered as she sat on the sofa, unceremoniously grabbing Maya’s juice for a big sip.
Seeing this, Maya immediately waved to the waiter and said, "Waiter, please get a freshly squeezed mango juice and a mango mille-feuille for this guest."
Mango was Ella’s favorite fruit, and Maya would always order it for her.
After ordering the juice and dessert, she sat across from Ella and calmly said, "Liam Spencer had the plane turn around, and Lillian and I got caught in the act, so I wanted to wait for things to settle before contacting you."
"Ah..." Ella’s mouth opened into an O shape, eyes wide with surprise. She asked, "Then what happened? Did the principal bully you?"
"No, Liam didn’t say anything, just took me home, and hasn’t mentioned it again since. We’re quite good now." As Maya said this, she suddenly stopped, reached out her right hand to grab Ella’s hand, and solemnly said, "Ella, Third Brother is really good to me now, so you don’t have to worry about me."
Ella, hearing Maya refer to Liam as Third Brother, knew they had a good relationship, but she felt embarrassed, blinking her big eyes, scratching her curly short hair, and complaining softly, "How was I supposed to know!"
"He really likes me." Maya spoke confidently every time she talked about Liam’s affection for her.
Ella continued muttering, "Liking is one thing, but no need to be a weirdo."
"Uh-huh!" Maya nodded, agreeing with Ella’s opinion.
"What about President Morris? Elijah said he’s disappeared. What’s going on? Did they kill him to stop you from having ideas?" Ella made a throat-slitting gesture, asking Maya nervously.
"You’ve got the wrong idea about Liam. He wouldn’t do something illegal. Old Master Morris sent Brother Morris away to calm the situation, saying he wouldn’t show up in S City for two years. It’s a good thing; it gives him a fresh start." Talking about Lillian again, Maya felt relieved and no longer guilty towards the Morris Family.
"So that’s how it is. That damn Elijah scared me, saying I should have disappeared, too. It frightened me to the point of babbling nonsense and insulting him all over." Ella caressed her face, feeling extremely aggrieved.
"It’s not right. That guy bit too hard; we must get justice for you. Ella, put your hand down and let me take a photo," Maya said, grabbing her phone.
"Uh-huh! Get justice for me; I want to bite back." Upon hearing that justice could be sought, Ella became highly excited, as if invigorated.
But Maya shook her head and said, "Ella, don’t get so worked up. You need to look pitiful and very wronged so people can see you’re the victim."
"Uh-huh! I am genuinely aggrieved, pitiful, and the victim." Ella immediately puckered her lips, eyes reddening, filled with tears, looking extremely wronged.
"Yes, that’s the effect we want." Maya said as she took a picture of Ella and sent it to someone on WeChat.
At the moment, in the conference room on the top floor of the department store, Liam Spencer eagerly opened the message Maya sent.
"Pfft!" He couldn’t help but laugh when he saw the photo Maya sent and the words of accusation.
Elijah Reed, sitting next to him reviewing department store documents, was startled by Liam’s sudden laughter and quickly asked, "BOSS, what are you laughing at?"
As Elijah spoke, Liam laughed even harder. The thought of Elijah biting Ella’s face was just too amusing, and it explained Elijah’s complex expression when he came back earlier.
Then, he held the phone up to Elijah’s face, pretending to be calm as he asked, "Is this your doing?"
Only then did Elijah realize that Maya was seeking justice for her friend.
Looking at Ella’s photo and Maya’s accompanying words, he felt ashamed. Maya had said, [Liam, ask Elijah what he meant by biting Ella’s face like this.]
In fact, it was just an impulsive act, nothing more!
After the awkwardness, Elijah, blushing, explained, "BOSS, I clashed with Ella to argue for you. You can’t side with Miss Five."
"So, you’re saying I should praise you?" Liam looked at Elijah, unable to suppress his laughter, unable to fathom Ella’s demeanor at the time.
"No, I don’t need praise. I told her to see a doctor and that I’d compensate her." Elijah’s voice grew quieter and more embarrassed, knowing this incident would be a lifelong humiliation.
Listening to Elijah’s response, Liam shook his head helplessly, then stood from his chair to head to Maya’s location, with Elijah following.
In the café, Maya comforted Ella, touching her tooth mark, "Ella, don’t feel wronged. I’ll make sure to get justice for you."
"Principal!" As soon as Maya spoke, Ella’s eyes widened in shock, and she reflexively slid under the table in fear.
