CHAPTER 463: CHAPTER 459: SOPHIE SMITH, WE HAVE A CHILD NOW (PART 2)

"Sophie..." he softly called her name, "we have a child now."

She slowly opened her eyes and then turned her head towards him. She felt that speaking was so difficult now; it seemed the past four hours had drained all her energy.

"Is our child doing well..."

"He’s fine, doing very well." He held her hand tightly, unwilling to let go.

"A boy or a girl..."

"..."

Well, he was only focused on seeing her that there wasn’t any time to check if the child was a boy or a girl. The nurse hadn’t told him earlier either.

He turned his gaze to the young nurse standing nearby.

"Mr. Land, Miss Smith, congratulations, it’s a boy."

Finally, she and Asher Land have a son.

Sometimes, every night before sleeping, she would touch her belly and discuss baby names with him. She had said before if they had a boy, the child would be named Alexander Land.

"Alexander..." she murmured softly.

The arrival of this child was so timely.

Asher knew that Sophie was feeling down because of Christopher Smith’s suicide and Oliver Johnson’s imprisonment. But this child, arriving a month early, instantly changed her so much.

She appeared in the hall, holding the baby. Asher was sitting on the sofa, working on his laptop.

Recently, he hadn’t been going to the company often; almost everything was done at home. Several times, he held video meetings in the study room, and she unknowingly entered with the baby, resulting in the baby’s cries interrupting the meeting. He stopped the meeting to come to her side, surprisingly joining her in soothing the baby, while on the other side of the conference room, the company executives exchanged glances, having listened to the baby’s cries for nearly half an hour.

"Asher, why don’t you hold Alexander?" She handed the baby over in front of him, and sure enough, Asher showed an awkward expression again.

"Why would a grown man like me hold a baby?"

A grown man can’t hold a baby? No way, it looks like she really needs to train him well and cultivate his image as a doting father.

"Just hold him for a moment." She coaxed and cajoled until she finally got the baby into his hands.

Some maids also secretly raised their eyes, shifting their gazes towards them.

Their young master holding a child?

They had never seen that before!

The child appeared extraordinarily small in Asher’s hands. Due to his tall stature, it felt like the baby was just a little doll in his hands.

The baby was so pink and chubby, irresistibly enticing people to pinch him, with big, round eyes staring at you, incredibly adorable.

Sophie couldn’t help but reveal a gentle smile.

But the man hastily wanted to get rid of the ’hot potato’ in his hands.

For the maids to see him holding a baby, how embarrassing was that? This wasn’t the style of Asher Land.

Sophie took out her phone, intent on taking a picture of him.

"Is it done? Have you finished taking pictures?" He frowned as he looked at her, "Quickly take him back."

Sophie pouted and sat beside him, retrieving the child.

"Asher, look at your expression of disdain. Isn’t he your own son?"

There’s no way; he had to wash away the suspicion of such a groundless accusation placed upon him.

The child kept crying, and Nanny Garcia, along with a group of maids, gathered around Sophie, trying to soothe him, but after a long time, it was all to no avail, resulting in even more intense crying.

Asher sighed helplessly and took the child back from Sophie.

Strangely, as soon as Asher took over the child, he stopped crying miraculously and peacefully stayed in his arms, blinking his bright eyes and gazing at Asher.
