Sophie Smith got off the plane and arrived at the old mansion of the Land Family in Europe without seeing Alexander even once.

The mansion occupies a very large area, resembling a complex of villas. At the entrance, armed guards conducted a thorough check on Luke Land and her before letting them in.

The solemn black iron gate opened slowly, and Luke Land personally drove her in.

The car circled inside for a long time before stopping.

"Let’s go."

Luke Land got out of the car, opened her door, and spoke to her.

Sophie Smith felt very nervous inside. She tightly gripped the seatbelt, and sweat had seeped into the palms of her hands.

"Why are you so scared? Wasn’t it you who wanted to come along?" Luke Land sneered, "I did advise you."

After a long pause, her hand slowly loosened, and she unbuckled the seatbelt.

"Where are you taking me now?" she asked apprehensively, looking up.

"To meet your future parents-in-law," Luke Land waved his hand, teasing her purposely.

Meeting Nathan Land?

Just thinking about that old man made her somehow cowardly unable to take a step forward.

In the end, Luke Land dragged her away directly.

The bright hall was already filled with many people, and naturally, the first to catch Sophie Smith’s eye was Nathan Land, sitting upright on a black leather sofa with one hand resting on a dragon-headed cane.

"Father, this time I brought the person back to you. Even brought someone extra," Luke Land said with a mischievous grin.

Sophie Smith stood in the center of the hall, subject to wave upon wave of scrutinizing gazes.

She raised her head, and a familiar figure caught her eye.

Irene Morton stood in an inconspicuous spot at the side, with a smile on her lips. Seeing Sophie Smith focus her gaze on her, she did not shy away, merely meeting her eye.

"Who is she?" A chilling voice rang out, prompting Sophie Smith to withdraw her gaze from Irene Morton.

"Father, she is the woman of the third brother..." Luke Land whispered from the side.

Undoubtedly, Luke Land’s words were enough to enrage Nathan Land.

He leaned on his cane, moving towards Sophie Smith, who instinctively took two steps back.

"A woman just to fool around with?" Nathan Land asked Luke Land while coldly staring at Sophie Smith.

"Well, yes..." Luke Land casually replied.

"Uncle Land, I think you might have forgotten." Irene Morton suddenly stepped out of the crowd and approached Sophie Smith, "Last time, didn’t you come from the European Headquarters to Eastern City to celebrate Brother Asher’s birthday? It ended badly because of a woman, and if I remember correctly, it seemed to involve this young lady in front of you."

Sophie Smith’s body stiffened. The Irene Morton before her was a completely unfamiliar Irene Morton.

"If I’m not mistaken, Brother Asher’s child should be with this young lady," Irene Morton reminded Nathan Land.

"Is it you?"

Nathan Land snorted. He naturally had no memory of Sophie Smith; they had only met once. The drama caused by her in Eastern City last time had not concerned him. Back then, he merely thought Asher Land was temporarily unclear-headed, still intrigued by this woman, and therefore protecting her. He never expected now that she actually had a son with Asher Land?

This was something he could never allow.
