Jimmy had drunk two bottles of beer today, and although he had slept for two hours in the afternoon, he was still somewhat worried that he might be influenced by the alcohol. After getting on the road, he rolled down the windows to let the cold air hit his face, giving himself a bit of a jolt.

Now on an assist mission instead of a patrol, Jimmy had already ignored the traffic flow. He stopped on the roadside, opened the map to check the intersections he was responsible for, planned a route, restarted the police car, and began patrolling back and forth along the planned roads, not letting any pickup escape his notice as he followed behind checking license plates.

It was now past 6 PM, and the sun was nearly gone, the darkness of night creeping in. Searching for a car at night would be very challenging, and because of manpower issues, completely blocking off Small Stone Town was unrealistic; they could only hope for good luck, expecting patrol units everywhere to spot the other party.

"Adam28, a Cadillac broke through a checkpoint, taking highway 630 to 403, heading toward your location, license plate XXXXXX. Please intercept as soon as possible,"

"Adam28 received."

Jimmy turned the car around and headed onto highway 430, slowing down to wait for the car behind. Minutes later, a silver Cadillac sedan appeared in his sights, followed by a police car flashing its lights and blaring its siren. Jimmy started to speed up and then lined up right behind the Cadillac, tailing it closely.

"Adam28 has caught up to the Cadillac, currently no opportunity to stop it, continuing the pursuit."

Jimmy floored the accelerator, raising the speed to close in on the sedan ahead, looking for an opportunity to perform a PIT maneuver, but the driver ahead was clearly experienced, swerving left and right every time Jimmy caught up, dodging the angle for the PIT.

Jimmy was very frustrated; this veteran seemed to be a professional, very knowledgeable about police procedures, likely a habitual offender.

Jimmy kept up the chase for over ten minutes, then suddenly saw the Cadillac change lanes to the right. He quickly followed, and then saw an exit ahead.

"Adam28 calling the dispatch center, the Cadillac left the highway at the Cantrell Road exit off 430, now heading west along Cantrell Road,"

Jimmy reported the latest movement and also turned onto Cantrell Road. He was less familiar with this area, which had more complex road conditions, surrounded by Double River Park, Kanna Park, and up ahead, Pinnacle Mountain State Park, with a residential area to the south. Jimmy could only keep as close as possible to the Cadillac to avoid losing it, as this skilled driver wouldn't give Jimmy a chance to perform a PIT maneuver.

"Adam28 calling the dispatch center, the Cadillac continues to flee west on highway 10, Cantrell Road, having passed Kanna Park."

"Adam28, continue to follow up on the Cadillac case, others will return to their positions and continue searching for the target."

"Adam28 received."

It seemed that the person in the Cadillac wasn't the target Johnny Santiago, but simply someone who had forcefully breached a checkpoint. Now, the key target for the police station was still the murderer; Jimmy would have to chase this one alone.

Knowing he had no backup, Jimmy didn't care anymore and kept pursuing the Cadillac ahead, which moved left and right, not giving Jimmy a chance for a PIT maneuver. At this moment, the speed hadn't reached its maximum, only 100 mph, 160km/h.

Suddenly, the Cadillac seemed to lose control, crashing into a car driving normally ahead, then veering off the highway into the grass on the roadside. Since there was a small drainage ditch on the roadside, the car was caught and then lost control, moving forward a bit before stopping on the grass.

Jimmy also got a shock, immediately hit the brakes, and after moving forward a bit, he stopped the police car on the roadside, turned to look back, and seeing the Cadillac had stopped, he opened the door and got out.

Jimmy drew his gun and, holding a flashlight, pointed it at the Cadillac's driver seat, and shouted at the driver, "Don't move, put your hands outside the car, don't move."

Although he shouted, Jimmy didn't leave the police car as he needed it for cover in case the suspect was armed.

After shouting a few times and seeing no response from the suspect, Jimmy ducked behind the car and used his abilities to scan the inside of the vehicle.

The sedan was quite far from Jimmy, beyond the reach of his senses, which caused him some headache. He continued to peek out and shouted at the driver to extend his hands out of the window.

Eventually, the car door opened, and the driver tumbled out.

Jimmy used a flashlight to carefully check whether both hands were visible and that there were no weapons in them before he stood up from behind the police car to continue shouting commands at the driver.

"Let me see your hands, put your hands on your head, and lie down on the ground."

"Hands on your head and lie down on the ground."

The driver, possibly disoriented from a head injury caused by the car crash, was slow to react and didn't move immediately. However, Jimmy didn't dare to rush forward since it was unclear whether there were a second or third person inside the Cadillac, making it risky to approach directly.

After the driver had lain down with his hands on his head, Jimmy shouted, "Is there anyone else in the car? Answer me. Is there anyone else in the car?"

The driver shook his head and said something, but Jimmy couldn't hear it clearly.

Jimmy shifted his position and directed his flashlight inside through the open front door. Not seeing anyone else in his field of vision, he pointed his gun towards the back seat of the sedan. He cautiously made his way to the back of the vehicle, then opened the right rear door slowly, with his pistol pointed inside while peering in bit by bit.

There was no one on the back seat; the driver was alone in the car.

Jimmy put away his pistol, took out handcuffs to secure the driver, then conducted a quick search on the spot. After pulling the driver up, facing the car, he performed another round of searching to ensure safety.

Jimmy led the driver to the police car, locked him in the back seat, then walked to the front to grab the radio and report that the Cadillac driver had been apprehended and to request an ambulance and tow truck near the intersection of Cantrell Road and Taylor Loop.

Jimmy returned to the Cadillac, donned gloves, and began searching. Given the way the driver was operating the vehicle, he was sure there would be significant findings.

Nothing of interest was found on the driver and passenger seats, but on the floor of the driver's side, a wallet containing the driver's ID was discovered.

In the glove compartment of the passenger side, a Colt M1911 handgun was found with a fully-loaded magazine of seven rounds and one round in the chamber, alongside one spare magazine also fully loaded with seven rounds.

On the floor of the back seat, a black hard-shell briefcase was found, presumably fallen from the seat during the crash. The briefcase was locked, and Jimmy didn't force it open to be checked later.

Opening the trunk revealed a travel bag filled with clothes. Inside an inner pocket of the bag, two passports were found—one American and one Mexican, both with photos of the same person. This was interesting, as due to the darkness, Jimmy hadn't noticed the driver's appearance before. If both passports belonged to him, they had caught a big fish.
