Yesterday, a call came from home. Emily is still alive, and if she can be rescued, naturally someone has to be arranged to bring her back. Saving a product that can be brought back to life is much more cost-effective than retraining someone. Anyone who knows how to do the math can understand this logic.

Just after receiving Perkins' call last night, the few people who were arranged to come over were very nervous. They hurriedly rushed to New York and arrived at Perkins' safe house early in the morning.

After meeting with these people, Perkins explained the situation from last night to them. It was certain that Emily was not dead, and none of the gunfire from last night hit her. After she undergoes surgery, she can be sent to rest.

The few individuals discussed among themselves that since last night's escort operation failed, and now Emily has been placed under NYPD supervision at a hospital, they must rescue her quickly. Just a few NYPD officers stationed at the hospital pose no challenge to them.

Perkins contacted Benny; the hijacking of the fire truck and escorting Emily were carried out by subordinates, and Benny himself did not directly participate.

Not long after the gunfight, Benny and his team learned of the dire situation, so they packed up and headed to the safe house overnight, awaiting departure from New York. Now that Perkins called to say people had arrived from home, they naturally came over quickly.

NYPD intelligence is still quite easy to obtain. Perkins has already appeared in New York too many times, and if her identity is exposed, it would severely impact her future work. Thus, she did not participate in the rescue but arranged for the departure from New York, adding four people from home along with Benny and his sidekicks, six people to handle four NYPD officers—no problem at all.

Perkins and her team's preparation was quite good. Upon arriving at the hospital, they first confirmed Emily's ward, and then took nurse uniforms from the dressing room to change into, setting Benny and the men to wait downstairs for backup.

However, they were unaware that not long in the morning, after Mahong took over the case from the NYPD detectives, he arranged for FBI agents to take over Emily.

Five FBI agents versus four NYPD officers posed entirely different risks, but Benny's intel was received very early that morning. At that time, the FBI had not yet taken over, so their preparation was completely inadequate.

The two agents at the door of Emily's ward were caught off guard but bravely fought back. Alarms rang, and the three agents downstairs also rushed over, only to be intercepted by Benny and his team, yet the five of them gained some ground, at least delaying enough time and injuring one person, giving time for Mahong and Jimmy to arrive.

Because the alarm sounded, NYPD patrol cars arrived at the hospital, and their intended escape route was in trouble. Someone shut down the elevators, and officers were downstairs; they were considering exit plans, and then Mahong and Jimmy burst in.

Perkins was bewildered. According to breaking news, there were five FBI agents on the scene instead of NYPD officers, and moreover, two agents had already been declared dead. It's not surprising if the FBI goes crazy.

She walked out of the cabin, looking toward the dock. This yacht was their escape plan; once everyone arrived, they'd get on the yacht to head north to Boston, then proceed along a prepared route to leave—whether returning to training camp or directly heading to Canada posed no difficulty for them.

Perkins now didn't know what to do anymore; why did things develop this way? Losing more than ten people at once—they were not random gangsters that could be recruited on a whim; the four people who came later were instructors from the training camp, how did they suddenly disappear?

She just stood on the yacht, the sea breeze blowing her hair wildly, until her cell phone rang.

Perkins glanced at the phone number, then answered: "What's the matter?... No, not departing for now... half an hour, okay."

After hanging up the phone, Perkins contemplated for a moment, then directly took a large suitcase off the boat to the dock, started the car in the parking lot, and returned to the city.

On his way to the Anti-Terrorism Bureau, Jimmy called Caitlin: "Caitlin, I need a favor, it's very urgent."

Caitlin: "What's up?"

Jimmy: "We need to quickly investigate the identity of the suspects in the hospital gunfight using your resources. We lost two men."

Caitlin: "For the department?"

Jimmy: "Yes, but the process is taking too long."

Caitlin was silent for a few seconds: "Come on over."

Jimmy: "Thanks, Caitlin, I owe you one."

Caitlin: "Alright, come directly to Olivia; she's in the command center."

Jimmy: "Thanks."

Jimmy had no other choice; there weren't many places where he could get intelligence. Charon had already hinted to him that they were neutral and couldn't directly provide intelligence to him, so the CIA was the most convenient place to get the information, in other words, the Anti-Terrorism Bureau.

The FBI's database is actually not comprehensive because the FBI is an enforcement arm under the Judicial Department. Without authorization, Jimmy couldn't find out the information on these bodies even if he wanted to investigate.

The Anti-Terrorism Bureau split from the CIA after the DHS Department of Homeland Security was established, gaining considerable DHS authorization to query data from multiple intelligence systems, including the NSA, something the FBI couldn't do.

Jimmy didn't see Caitlin this time. After Olivia took Jimmy's folder, she just sent him away, saying the information, once examined, would be sent over.

There was nothing he could do; Jimmy could only return to the office to wait, but the investigation of this particular info seemed to require a long time, as by the end of the day, Jimmy still hadn't received a call from Olivia.

Today, Jimmy didn't go to Nia's, but directly returned to his own apartment.

In the afternoon, he received the news that the three seriously injured individuals were still alive; although one person had lost a lot of blood and was once close to death, thankfully the hospital's doctors were excellent, successfully pulling him back from the brink.

This somewhat counts as good news; if they're not dead, there's hope, although these three people will need a long hospital stay and a good recovery at home afterward.

Jimmy didn't cook dinner himself either; he simply ordered a pizza and fruit salad, took a can of beer from the fridge, sat on the sofa watching TV to pass the time, then took a shower and went back to the bedroom to sleep.

In the early morning, Jimmy was again awakened by his Sixth Sense, he immediately pulled out the Python revolver from under his pillow, and activated Heart Eye Observation on the apartment.

After a glance at the room, living room, study, and dining room—no abnormalities, and there was no one in the corridor outside the apartment; the neighboring homes seemed normal, as everyone was sleeping.

He couldn't fall asleep anymore, strange... this feeling had appeared many times before, usually only when he was in danger, why was there no anomaly this time?

Jimmy didn't turn on the lights; instead, he felt for the clothes and pants beside him, put them on, and walked into the living room. He needs to observe carefully; every time this unsettling feeling arises, there's bound to be something happening, like before when he was sniped, or during paranormal events.

Currently located in New York's Manhattan Upper West Side, there haven't been any major paranormal events threatening his life in recent years. Surely it must be just as before, with someone trying to invade or aiming at him from outside with a sniper rifle.

Jimmy scanned the entire apartment, not even missing the cars parked on the street, confirming no abnormal findings.

How strange... Jimmy sat on the living room floor. Such a situation is rare; he's really afraid to lie back down and sleep. Jimmy's curtains in all rooms are drawn, making it impossible to see inside from the outside.

Long-range sniping shouldn't be able to pinpoint his location through the window and curtains. If shooting randomly, the gunman would certainly know the success rate wouldn't be high, and it would alert Jimmy, making it harder for the next move, so what on earth is going to happen?
