North America Gunman Detective
Chapter 959: 553
Jimmy nodded and began packing his things. In fact, he didn't have much to take; the intelligence here belonged to DHS, and he couldn't take it with him.
Jimmy got directly into Bill's car, and a group of people in several cars headed to Albany. It takes only three hours from New York to Albany, and driving is relatively hassle-free. By flight, coordinating cars in Albany would certainly be more inconvenient.
On the road, Jimmy asked Bill how the intelligence was obtained. Bill didn't mention the source, just said it was investigated by the DC headquarters, and they would see once in Albany.
It seemed the intelligence source issue was already handled by Bill. The power backing Winston and his group was indeed considerable, organizing everything within three days was not easy.
Now that everything was settled, Jimmy felt at ease, just taking it easy. The fact that Bill was able to directly arrange for them to go to Albany meant they wouldn't rely solely on this group to handle an organization's headquarters; there would surely be support.
Upon reaching Albany, Jimmy's judgment was correct. They parked in front of a building, went inside, and in a large conference room saw two people wearing bullet-proof vests.
Bill shook hands with them and introduced the two as captains of the Special Anti-Terrorism Team. DHS placed significant importance on this mission, deploying two squads comprising twelve people.
Once everyone was in place, a captain walked to the front and handed out two sheets of documents to each person. Then he stood at the podium, "The mission target is the mansion marked on your papers. According to reliable intelligence, there are at least ten armed operatives in this mansion, with an unknown number of others. We will use drones for surveillance by evening.
If all goes well, we'll raid the mansion tonight and capture the head of this organization. This arrest operation will be carried out by our two teams; you all will follow behind and extradite anyone captured immediately."
"Alright, you can rest for a while; we set off in three hours."
Jimmy glanced at the documents in his hand and smirked; they were basically the same as the ones Mr. Jude had provided, except the second page was a satellite map showing the mansion's layout. However, the map's precision was clearly lower than the one Hughes gave. Apparently, Hughes used a bit of his private connections for those satellite photos, possibly from military satellites, while the ones in hand seemed more like the work of commercial satellites.
After two hours, someone delivered pizza, and the group had lunch in the conference room before resting for over an hour. Then they went downstairs, got in their cars, and left.
The members of the two Anti-Terrorism Teams set off in two SUVs, which seemed less official. Normally, if an HRT is deployed, it would either be by armored vehicle or helicopter directly, and they ended up only with civilian vehicles, which was quite a stark contrast.
After all, DHS was newly established and hadn't prepared the necessary vehicles in various locations, which was understandable.
Upon arriving near the mansion, two small drones were launched. Due to the noise of the drones, they had to fly higher, but they successfully circled the area around the mansion's main house. The detailed terrain and positions of surrounding security were mapped out, and soon after, the drones returned. Then everyone donned their bullet-proof vests, prepared their firearms, and waited for the evening raid.
