"This is a very typical American style of flower arrangement; my wife used to do this. If you’ve watched old movies, you would notice that the style and technique of this flower arrangement are quite different from modern ones. To be precise, it’s a very old technique."

Dean promptly asked, "How old?"

"As old as those trichloromethanes. The style of flower arrangement was popular in the fifties and sixties and was later replaced by newer styles and aesthetic tastes. Maybe the murderer is a woman who is into retro style; after all, if she was born in the forties or fifties, she might not have the physical strength to deal with the victim’s body."

Dean didn’t say much. He just nodded his head.

Medical Examiner Walter’s speculation could indeed be possible.

This depends on whether the murderer killed all five victims first in a relatively less cruel way before mutilating their bodies. At least let the victims choose. They probably would have preferred to be anesthetized to death before having their genitals electrocuted and their internal organs removed.

As for why the murderer would electrocute the victims’ private parts? It could be to prevent blood from getting everywhere while processing the internal organs, or perhaps the murderer was jealous of these beautiful women and wanted to vent. It’s also possible the murderer was simply a pervert. Such details have little significance without more information about the murderer.

But whether the murderer was male or female, Dean couldn’t be sure yet. He needed more information!

Next, under the guidance of Medical Examiner Walter, Dean and Cheston En examined the photos and videos taken at the scenes of all five murders.

Medical Examiner Walter seemed very professional.

So Dean shared his hypothesis with him.

But to his surprise, Medical Examiner Walter shook his head after hearing it. "Agent Dean, before you drew those rose arrangements, I actually had a similar idea, but now it’s different."

With that, he placed the photos of the victims back in front of everyone, pointing to the five victims’ exquisitely pale faces, and said, "You are all very young and might not know what’s special about how the five victims were dressed, but considering those old-fashioned flower arrangements, I may know why the murderer chose blond beauties."

He said with a hint of nostalgia, "Marilyn Monroe! She was a siren who made countless American men obsessed back in the day. The style in which the murderer dressed the female victims was based on Marilyn Monroe in a movie from the fifties! It was a good movie. Those flower arrangement styles and the way the female victims were made up awakened my memory. All these can be found as characteristics in that movie! The murderer must be a fanatical enthusiast of that movie! He treated those five victims as Marilyn Monroe!"

Marilyn Monroe, a Hollywood star, was also one of the most popular sex symbols of the fifties. Countless naive youths practiced their wrist strength with posters of her back then.
