CHAPTER 519: CHAPTER 304: BLUFFING LITTLE MIKE, THE PLAINNESS OF THE TYCOON_2
Little Mike’s mind instantly processed with the precision of a program: Dean’s value as a cooperative partner has decreased → the credibility of his commitments has decreased → abandonment → break free from Dean’s control → find new channels for self-rescue and new partners...
The best way to break free from control was, naturally, physical elimination.
It seemed Dean was right...
That statement I just made was indeed a threat.
After a moment of silence, Little Mike nodded. His tone was cold and indifferent as he said, "Yes, you’re right. I apologize for my inappropriate behavior towards a partner. I will fully cooperate with your actions from now on. Just a moment, I need to organize the information I have on the Lucifer Game Organization..."
...
On the other end of the phone, Dean smirked upon hearing Little Mike’s words.
Trying to play games with me? You’re still too green!
He had rambled on, setting a logical trap based on Little Mike’s way of thinking.
Little Mike’s thought process was rather mechanical. It could be understood like this:
A normal person might think:
I had an argument with my boss over some minor issue. They might make things difficult for me. To avoid problems, I should find a chance to reconcile with my boss.
Little Mike’s process:
I had an argument with my boss over some minor issue → They might make things difficult for me → To protect myself, I need to strike first → After physically eliminating my boss, their family and friends might seek revenge → I can only continue to strike first → Threat eliminated.
So, it became: I had an argument with my boss over some minor issue → Kill his whole family.
Little Mike’s thought process was just that simple and direct.
Dealing with such a monster without understanding his thought process would undoubtedly be very dangerous. However, grasping his logic was like having a very useful tool at one’s disposal. But Little Mike was monstrously intelligent; ordinary people would struggle to exploit this, even if they knew about it, because he simply wouldn’t interact with any low-IQ ’monkeys’ he didn’t acknowledge.
Dean lit a cigarette, waiting for Little Mike’s information.
Since this fellow was searching the world for ways to save himself through online channels, he must have come into contact with the Lucifer Game Organization. The question was, how much did he know? I hope there are some surprises.
...
Little Mike was efficient.
Dean hadn’t finished his cigarette when his computer chimed.
"I’ve uploaded the information I have to The Gray Realm," Little Mike said. "However, it’s not very detailed. If you need more, I’ll put more effort into breaching their firewall to discover their real-world identities."
Hearing this, Dean snuffed out his cigarette, his voice tinged with excitement. "You can track their real identities?"
The most troublesome aspect of the Lucifer Game Organization was their interconnectedness online. They had their own unique communication methods and Disguises, making them like ghosts, their real-life identities completely unknown. Once that Disguise was gone...
A ruthless smile spread across Dean’s face.
Violent Detective! Violence first! No one in reality can withstand my assassinations!
Upon Dean’s inquiry, Little Mike’s tone remained cold and indifferent. "Technically, it’s not difficult. The Lucifer Game Organization’s network security is structured much like those secretive research institutions. However, they handle numerous external network access requests daily, so breaching their defenses is far simpler than infiltrating those of, say, human experimentation labs."
"Will that pose a threat to you?" Dean asked.
Even though Dean knew Little Mike cared little for such pleasantries, he feigned concern.
I do have some moral bottom lines, after all; they’re just rather flexible.
"Online, the most anyone might find are traces of my past presence. But that’s a limitation of network technology, not my own. It’s impossible for anyone to catch me. Technically speaking, no such person exists!"
A note of weariness crept into Little Mike’s voice. "Alright, Dean, I’ll prepare what you need. You also need to pick up the pace. Your current level is too low; you’re hardly in a position to help me!"
He hung up.
Dean returned to his room, rubbing his hands together in anticipation as he sat back down at the computer.
I really hope Little Mike has some more surprises for me!
Filled with expectation, he clicked on the data Little Mike had uploaded to ’The Gray Realm’ page.
...
The information was presented in a file structure resembling a book.
File Name: Lucifer Game Organization
Opening it revealed a series of directories:
Directory One: Framework of the Lucifer Game Organization.
Directory Two: Funding Sources of the Lucifer Game Organization.
Directory Three: Range of Activities of Lucifer Game Organization Members.
...
...
Directory Eighteen: Server Support Locations for the Lucifer Game Organization.
Dean stared at the lengthy list of directories, his mouth agape.
Good grief. This is the "not very detailed" information Little Mike was talking about? He must have investigated the Lucifer Game Organization down to the color of their underwear!
However, considering he’d previously asked Little Mike for help regarding Lucifer, this wasn’t entirely surprising. After all, according to Little Mike’s logic, Dean was his partner. Only by thoroughly understanding the enemy could their safety be assessed. Perhaps Little Mike had already investigated him just as thoroughly.
Dean stroked his chin.
I really appreciate Little Mike’s brand of unpretentious thoroughness. This feels so secure!
Thrilled, Dean clicked on the first directory file: Framework of the Lucifer Game Organization.
Based on his prior knowledge, the Lucifer Game Organization was split into internal and external sections. The external members were the ’visitors,’ while the internal hierarchy had three tiers: Lucifer, Elder, and Angel Envoy.
Besides that, the Lucifer Game Organization also had a level akin to special consultants and had recently recruited many psychopathic killers. In the real world, they even possessed their own armed forces, primarily used for ’elimination’ operations.
This latter information was what An Bei had previously told Dean.
However, the information Little Mike provided differed somewhat from what Dean knew. It revealed an additional level of authority: God!
’God’ existed outside the Lucifer Game Organization’s established hierarchy, akin to influential backers or patrons. The number of ’Gods’ was unknown, but they could command the entire organization’s intelligence and mission systems, holding authority even greater than Lucifer, the nominal leader.
Judging solely from Little Mike’s data, the entire Lucifer Game Organization was merely a black glove for these ’Gods’.
How on earth did Little Mike get this information?
Dean marveled at Little Mike’s capabilities, then moved on to the second directory. He went through them one by one, and the Lucifer Game Organization, once shrouded in mystery, gradually lost its enigmatic aura in his mind.
To summarize, since its inception, the Lucifer Game Organization had exploited various human weaknesses to attract ’visitors’ from the real world, stealing their personal information. Most of these visitors became sources of funding. A smaller contingent became puppets, forming an extensive, invisible network. This network ultimately created the impression of an entity that was exceedingly difficult for outsiders to challenge or eliminate.
As long as their database remained intact, even the death of all upper-level members wouldn’t inflict catastrophic damage on the established organization.
But in reality, if their database was destroyed, the Lucifer Game Organization would cease to exist. The threads connecting all those individuals would be severed.
So this seemingly colossal entity... wasn’t as formidable as I’d imagined.
