CHAPTER 114: _UNSATIATED NEED

Kyren’s POV

*****

"Your highness." Elian bowed before the Alpha King, who arched a brow. "Can I borrow the rogue king for a while?"

Kyren tilted his head slightly, his eyes glinting with amusement.

Borrow, eh?

"Of course." The Alpha king nodded, flashing Elian a smile before turning to Kyren one last time. "I hope you enjoy your stay. Please, feel free."

Kyren’s smile widened. "Oh, I most certainly will."

The Alpha king’s eyes lingered on him for a couple of seconds before he walked in the direction they’d come from, leaving Kyren alone with Elian.

Well, "alone" was a stretch since he could hear a few guards just outside the garden maze. And then there was the small flock of birds flying above them.

"Are you spying on me, Elian?" Kyren finally focused his attention on his mate, taking a step closer to him. "Because you don’t expect me to believe you were just casually lingering around these parts and decided to... Talk."

Elian’s lips pressed into a thin line, his breathing hitching as he struggled to maintain eye contact. His fingers twitched, and his brows knitted like he was struggling to say whatever it was he wanted to.

"You know you can ask me anything. Right?" Kyren’s voice dropped to a whisper as he disappeared from his view, appearing the next second just a breath behind him.

His lips drew closer to the back of Elian’s neck, his voice a tempting drawl. "Anything at all, my little flame. Whatever your heart could possibly desire..."

His right hand settled on Elian’s shoulder, causing the latter to stiffen. His heartbeat was so loud, Kyren had to subconsciously dial down his heightened hearing.

The mate bond thrummed like a live wire between them, but Kyren pushed it further, brushing his hand tenderly down Elian’s arm.

"That’s... That’s not what I meant, K–Kyren." Elian rasped, his voice shaking like he was struggling to breathe.

He probably was.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about." Kyren acted clueless but his voice was teasing, tempting, daring. "You didn’t seem all too excited to see me earlier. And then you left the dining room so... Abruptly."

Elian parted his lips but Kyren added with a soft chuckle:

"Should we try again from the top perhaps? See if you’ll be more open to... Welcoming me now that we have a semblance of privacy."

Finally, he let go of Elian but made sure his touch on his arm lingered long enough to make the little omega ache for more.

And he could smell that ache like it was burnt incense sent to appease him. Oh, was he appeased.

"Kyren, I wanted to talk." Elian managed to clear his throat, turning to face the rogue king and keeping his chin high. "I’ve only seen you twice before now. And those times were through my consciousness and—"

"Yet I was still able to push your desires further than anything your two lap dogs... Sorry." Kyren raised a finger, shaking his head. "Than anything your two other mates could offer."

Elian’s jaw tightened, his violet eyes blazing with a fire that only excited Kyren more.

That fiestiness... Experiencing it up close was so surreal.

"Lucian and Axel aren’t just pets to me," Elian spoke with a trembling voice, maintaining eye contact. "And as much as I can’t deny whatever it is we have going on... I barely know you."

Kyren sniggered. "And you think you know them?"

Elian closed his eyes, brushing his right hand through his blonde white hair. Hair so soft that Kyren felt like sniffing it every morning.

"You deserve better, Elian," Kyren remarked, placing his arms behind him.

"And you know how?" Elian asked, arching an eyebrow. "How do you know what I deserve, Kyren? What do you think you know about me?"

How tense...

Kyren smirked, snapping his fingers behind him.

Suddenly, an invisible force gripped Elian, causing his eyes to widen as his feet lifted off the ground.

Elian gasped but Kyren ignored, making him levitate to him until his face was only inches away.

Kyren could barely hold himself when he felt Elian’s warm breath on his face. It was like a tender caress, inviting yet uncertain.

He’ll make sure he’s certain.

"What’s happening? What are you doing, Kyren?" Elian tried clawing free but it was no use, forcing him to lock his eyes on Kyren.

The latter merely stared at him for a beat before speaking.

"Tell me you don’t want to kiss me, Elian," Kyren muttered, watching with amusement when Elian blinked back at him, his cheeks reddening.

"W–What?" Elian shivered but Kyren pushed, bringing his lips so dangerously close to his.

Any further movement would make their lips brush.

"Tell me, Elian." Kyren continued, his voice firmer now. "I’m a simple man and I’m showing you right now."

Elian smiled sarcastically. "By leaving me suspended like some trophy in front of you?"

Kyren shrugged. "Call it a simple tool to get what I want. An answer. Tell me you don’t want to kiss me right here, right now, under the light of the Lunarian sun... And I’ll leave. Go back inside, finish what I need to do and head back to my domain."

Elian’s throat bobbed, his heart beat quickening.

His eyes flickered with hesitation so intense that Kyren was almost tempted to tease him about it.

But he was trying to make a point. And he was going to achieve it.

"I’m waiting, E—"

Before he could complete that sentence, Elian pushed forward, their lips crashing with an intense kiss that made Kyren’s eyes widen.

But the surprise flashed faster than lightning. It was gone as Kyren’s body surged with arousal so deep that his loins ached.

He grabbed Elian’s back, pulling him closer, pressing further until their bodies nearly merged. He released Elian from his telekinetic hold but the sparks flying between them might as well make them levitate at this rate.

Elian’s hands trailed Kyren’s armour before grabbing his shoulders tightly.

He was hungry... But Kyren was starving. Unsatiated with a need he’s had for decades.

"You are mine," Kyren whispered for only a breath into his succulent lips before claiming them again, damning all rationality.
