‘It’s cold in winter. Shouldn’t I be wearing a down jacket? Do I have to dress as lightly as they do in a thin gown?‘ Olivia thought to herself.

“Olivia, I was wrong,” Lucas apologized again, bowing respectfully.

‘I must have been out of my mind toment on Olivia’s attire,‘ Lucas thought.

The young man following Lucas noticed his strange behavior and, puzzled, quickly approached. “Lucas, what’s going on?”

It was Mitchell Grant, the youngest son of the Grant family.

Mitchell, though young, was dressed in a simple, basic suit. His bangs fluttered gently, and his clear eyes gave him a gentlemanly, elegant, and innocent look.

“Shut up, Mitchell—” Lucas grabbed Mitchell and gave him a mock chokehold.

Mitchell immediately pleaded for mercy. “I’m wrong, Lucas. I can’t breathe.”

After escaping from Lucas’s grip, Mitchell noticed Olivia and Nina. He looked at them curiously. “Who are you?”

“I–It’s—Grandpa’s friend’s granddaughter,” Lucas straightened his sleeves, maintaining a calm expression. “This is Olivia.”

Lucas was excited to see Olivia, but in front of others, he still had to help conceal her mysterious identity.

Mitchell’s eyes twinkled. He scratched his bangs and gave a greasy smile. “Olivia, I’m Mitchell Grant. Pleased to meet you.”

Olivia nced at Lucas and tilted her head. “Is he your younger brother?”

Mitchell covered Lucas’s mouth to stop him from speaking and smiled even more greasily, “Don’t rush to reject me. Give me a chance to get to know you.

“I have a wide range of hobbies–violin, sketching, racing, I can do anything. Or, whatever you like, I can learn-”

Before Mitchell could finish, Lucas covered his mouth.

‘Does Mitchell even know who he’s talking to? Shut up, Lucas thought.

Lucas gave an awkward smile to Olivia. “He’s just joking. Don’t mind him.”

Lucas turned and pped Mitchell’s head hard. “Kid, I told you to watch less of those greasy soap operas. And now you’re imitating him? How embarrassing.”

Although Mitchell was young, he loved watching soap operas, especially one featuring a greasy male actor.

No matter how much Lucas tried to stop or dissuade him, Mitchell would still watch.

    “I-” Mitchell began.

Seeing that Mitchell was about to cause more trouble, Lucas quickly grabbed him and whispered, “Keep a low profile. Everyone around us is watching. I’m warning you not to cause any trouble.”

Mitchell shrugged. “So what? What kind of waves can I make? They’re all businessmen, talking about business. I really don’t know why you insisted on bringing me here.”

“Fool, Grandpa must have a reason for bringing you, and you’re stillining,” Lucas said.

Olivia shook her head helplessly as she watched the bickering pair.

These were the two most notorious good–for–nothings in Hirica. Often, Lucas would start trouble, and Mitchell would make it worse.

Neither of them was willing to take over the family business, always thinking of ways to escape their fate. They were theughingstock of the entire Hirica family circle.

Olivia shook her head, closed her eyes, and couldn’t see a future for the Grant family.

‘Mr. Grant’s two grandsons are really useless. I feel so sorry for him,‘ Olivia thought.

Natalie and Cheryl clinked their cocktails together.

Cheryl smiled slightly and raised her ss, “Natalie, thanks to the Evans family, I’m able to be here. Thank you.”

A hint of pride flickered in Natalie’s eyes as she took a gentle sip of her drink. “Don’t mention it. We’re friends. Just enjoy yourself.”

The next moment, Natalie turned and went to chat with another heiress, pletely ignoring Cheryl.

Cheryl had just returned and didn’t know any of the heiresses in this aristocratic circle.

Upon watching Natalie’s retreating back, Cheryl’s eyes were filled with disgust, and her lips

    curled downward.

‘If it weren’t for wanting to climb the socialdder with the help of the Evans family, I wouldn’t be ttering Natalic. Who does Natalie think she is? She’s just a bit better off at birth,‘ Cheryl thought.

Though Cheryl thought this way, she quickly wiped the contempt off her face. She gracefully sipped her cocktail and pasted on her elegant smile, just as usual.

Cheryl was quite good–looking. With the dress entuating her features, she looked quite beautiful and attracted a lot of attention.

Gradually, people began to approach her to chat and make small talk. When asked who she was, Cheryl would vaguely mention that she hade in with the Evans family, which helped her maintain her precarious dignity.

Cheryl knew that the Sherman family was not impressive in this context. ‘Everyone here is a prominent figure. I don’t want to embarrass myself,‘ Cheryl thought.

Soon, Cheryl also noticed themotion around Olivia. She quickly moved to Henry’s side and lowered her voice. “Grandpa Henry, are the two people chatting with her there nning to help her?”

“I’ve never seen them before. I don’t know who they are,” Cheryl said pitifully, biting her lip gently, her voice conveying her helplessness and vulnerability.

Seeing Cheryl’s frailty, Henry was filled withpassion. He patted Cheryl’s hand. “Don’t worry. Those two good–for–nothings won’t be able to cause much trouble.”

“Just the two good–for–nothing sons of the Grant family.” Henry raised his eyebrows, gesturing to the right. “The truly powerful people in Hirica are over there. The ckwell family, the Granger family, and Simon. Curtis ckwell controls severalpanies.”

“Although Simon hasn’t made much of a name for himself, he is good–looking.” Henry changed the subject. “And he mentions you every day.”

Cheryl bit her lip coquettishly, a blush creeping up her cheeks. “Grandpa Henry, stop teasing me. Simon and I are just friends.”

“Alright, I won’t mention it,” Henry said understandingly. “I know you’re beautiful and have many admirers. But why not consider Simon? Look, his eyes haven’t left you for a second. As for the Grant family? They pose no real threat.”

Henry’s eyes grew cold at the mention of the Grant family.

and other industries, but they had always been second to the Evans family.

    They were rivals by fate.

When the Shadow Syndicate ordered a boycott of the Evans family, the Grant family was visibly delighted. Lucas even went so far as to hire fireworks to celebrate, which infuriated Henry.

But Henry wasn’t worried. The Evans family had Revival Grass, an important ingredient for the Refreshing Pill, the only medicine that could save Andrew.

Even if the Shadow Syndicate was powerful, Henry wasn’t afraid.

Now, the Grant family had actually stooped to associating with a con artist student.

‘They can’t even find a good patron as we can,‘ Henry thought.

The Shea family had strict rules, and guests needed to register their identity information.

Mitchell chewed on the pen cap and turned to Olivia. “Olivia, whose family are you from? I’ll help you fill it out and submit it to the Shea family.”

Olivia thought for a moment, about to speak, when she was interrupted.

“Who do we have here? The fake heiress who was kicked out by the Sherman family,” a voice

    rang out.
